When you broke out the paper towel, everything leading up to that point suddenly came together. This workflow makes a lot of sense to me, including the comparison to charcoal. Very helpful.

Great video! May I ask you where you got your asaro head from? The orinal one from planesofthehead website seems to be plastic, but your's seems to be nice. Also would you say that the physical Asaro head is a must for any serious portrait artist? Do you still use it a lot? Again, thanks for the lesson. You are an amazing artist.

thanks! The physical one is not the original Asaro head, it was a gift from fellow artist and sculptor. it's a cast, not plastic, probably it is why it looks softer. I used to have the original before along with other models and ecorches. I think original one is really good, plastic or not - we just need to see how values of the planes are changing under the light. Having physical one is very helpful but for me the skull replica is a must.
