Or smell. We moved into a great house six years ago with a large yard for our then six year old daughter to play in, and a big driveway for me to play in, only to have new neighbours move in eight months later who have flooded our property with cigarette and marijuana smoke CONSTANTLY ever since. I sold my hot tub as I could no longer use it, and we haven't enjoyed our outside spaces in half a decade. We've had enough and will be selling in the new year. 😞
@@Modelscoutingwd there are narcissistic neighbors who feel exactly the opposite, because they see their targets as mere objects. So, their peace isn’t even at issue. For the neighbor who lived beneath me, I think her feeling was, “Your PEACE! Learn to respect your elders!” She was only 6 years older.
@ I see it as everything being so “thin”. So full of hyperbole and other substance. I can see at least 3 things this comes from. The internet which has almost rearranged social interaction and not for the better, the fact that manufacturing has mostly been transferred overseas so we produce just about nothing but fake jobs and projects, and Carl Sagan’s celebration of ignorance that I know he’s glad he’s dead and missing it all. There’s more. But one of my cats is staring at me; wants breakfast.
Same with our neighbors 2 dogs, non stop. Went online... Anti barking device, they have battery or rechargeable-up to 50 feet. They bark it emits a sound humans cant hear but dogs hate, works like a charm! Thank you Jesus! Saved my sanity
My family thought we were oddballs for leaving NYC for Vermont almost 20 years ago. We own a decent house on three acres on a private shared dead end road with only 5 other houses on it. We live in a college town, with just enough shopping, dining and entertainment. My neighbors are different ages and education levels and political leanings but ALL five families have been very friendly, respectful and helpful. The ethos is live and let live--but we're here to help if you need. I love that I can walk my dog on the road any hour of the day safely and leave my car unlocked in the driveway, and that my elderly mother feels safe and comfortable. We raised an amazing young lady here. Ironically she had more opportunities for sports and extracurriculars here than she would have in the big cities. Peaceful and safe quality of life is priceless. You can keep your metro area hubbub. Good luck to you!
Doesn’t matter if it’s metro or rural. If your neighbors suck, it ruins your home. Rural neighbors who like turning their property into a shooting range or motorcycle race track, for example, can ruin your peace very quickly.
@alankordzikowski7670 Burlington area. Prices did get ridiculous the last few years due to pandemic flight but you can still find deals here and there the further you get away from Burlington center. I have noticed the Hudson Valley in decline as their population ages out. Good luck
@ ah, I was wondering which town. I thought maybe Castleton or Northfield or Bennington. Since those are also college towns. I do quite a bit of regional travel for work and have gotten to cross the state several times. A lot of charm to small town Vermont. Even larger places like Rutland. Read that during 2020-2023 Vermont has seen the most increase in population in its history. The Hudson Valley was definitely in decline through most of the 1990’s and 2000’s. But in the last few years has seen a resurgence with city folks moving there to make everything all trendy. Then the pandemic hit and it was a mass exodus. Anywhere near Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Kingston is just super hot right now. Housing market is crazy. Traffic congestion has gotten bad. Taxes are super high.
I was fortunate to buy a house next door to an empty one, it was bliss for about 18 months and then it got new owners. Two weeks later the non stop parties, revving of motorbikes and a constantly barking dog started and hasn't stopped. That was five years ago and even though there have been hundreds of complaints and multiple visits from the police nothing has changed. I hate my neighbors, their dog and their f'kn rap shit.
I understand you so well! Best would be a house near a wood and a big ground all around! Austria is such a small country, you can t effort such a big ground anymore...everywhere house near house and streets.😕
The neighbor situation is so sad, good on you for finding your piece of sanity. I live on 40 acres of Prairiegrass with two springfed creeks. My husband built our home in 2003 and he passed in 2018…too young. I’m determined to stay here until I join him. I am so fortunate to have the best neighbors who are here when I need them. Enjoy your new property 🦋
I feel your pain. I bought by dream home at 20 years old, prior to that I was technically homeless sleeping on the couch at a friends house. My Mom was staying under the patio cover at my grandparents. I was working my rear off to save enough for a down payment on a house and when I did my Mom moved in too, it’s been heaven. Well, 15 years later the houses on either side of me are rentals, both government subsidized rentals, one of them has a barking dog round the clock, cars with loud subwoofers round the clock and when the subwoofers wake you up at 1am and you look out your window you see people dancing in their driveway. I have a transfer at my job in for greener pastures somewhere more rural. Someday, hopefully sooner than later I’ll get to move too. I’m glad you found your happiness and peace and quiet.
Call the police every time they make too much noise and complain. I guarantee they're breaking the noise ordinance laws with the music. Then call animal control about the dog. The landlord will get fined and they will either fix the problem with the tenants or they will keep paying fines. It's scary to do at first, but trust me...it will get better if you put the work in.
Hello from Belgium..this happened to us too..a neighbor who got on the wrong path, started drinking and drug use..became very aggressive. Damaged the car ,the front door, threw waist in our garden, etc. After 7 years and uncountable police interventions both of us having high blood pressure ,feeling scared and not safe anymore, we finally sold it . Best decision ever ! Peace and quiet ,no neighbors is what makes us happy now 😊 ☺️ . 💛🏡💛💪🇧🇪
@vincentkuipers9577 what do you think ..if you were in our situation ,would you tell ? Do you think it did not hurt us to sell a completely renovated house because of this ? The police ,even the mayor of our town adviced us to sell . Nothing could be done by law because he was an owner too .. We sold it for a fair price to a Bulgarian couple ,very nice people . But according to our former other neighbors, he is afraid of them and keeps calm . So ..everybody is happy ,I guess .
@@nancyvandergucht9295 I am so happy for you guys and I am very very sure you did the right thing. Same country, my house is build in 1954, purchased and fully renovated early 2000's. Next doors house and ... mutual wall ... was purchased by a daycare center a couple of years later after our renovation. A living hell we had to live with for years. Our house was unsellable btw. Now it's purchased by a couple whom decided to take down 80% of the walls, the complete back, front etc ... left in the open. 0 respect when we mentioned this issue about mutual wall and winter since ... last year in January. Cracks in our walls, doors not shutting or opening, mold on that wall which is the complete side of the house, mold on shoes, clothes, bathroom ... you name it. I had to throw serious memories and actually money away. 1 side of the house 22C and that mutual wall the condensation water running down .. at sometime 1C. Constant construction works that you couldn't even talk to eachother inside our house. Damage everywhere but they don't give a ... . Insurances., lawyers ... the drill, but nothing happens actually. Now the other house on the other side the old lady passed away and is empty with the back window open. I asked a relative that I saw there last week if they could close it but, nope, we leave it open so there is ventilation inside the house. I am seriously shocked by the attitude of people knowing that they cause damage to property, health and mental wellbeing. I heard the word 'you need to proof that we caused this' more than enough. All of this, well a very big part of it I am sure, ended my marriage last week. Constant stress and no way to relax killed basically my and my wifes will to still go on and has killed everything we ever worked for and towards. This would have been a nice place so we could retire. It turned into a hellhole by something we couldn't control. We have been going through hell and back and always supported each other but this seemed to be the final straw for her.
Currently im going through this . Neighbor across the street keep harrasing my family 2-3 weeks ago i suffered a very visciously dog attack from their 2 starving rottweilers police didnt help me police side with them..i cant afford to move
Like me. My next door neighbor does't want my cats to pass on their roof. They are angry that cats behave like cats. They demand that cats behave like humans, know manners, walk on the side of the road. Now I am forced to lock my cats in the house, my doors and windows are closed, sometimes I put them in cages, and they scream to get out. The house becomes dark and stuffy because there is no air coming in.
@@mauryagupta6024 if possible could you build them a cattio? my cats became indoors due to the neighbor starving 2rottweilers but we do have the opportunity to open all windows
Have permission to do a sleepover get dropped off so it seems as if the owner is only one there. I used to hide my car and act like I went on vacation. Yep they thought I was gone and I slept. True story.
I wish there was a neighborhood designated for quiet people. Its hard to even find a quiet place to go in my city when there is no peace at home. Congrats on finding peace and quiet! It's beautiful there!
Yes! I have been thinking of this a lot lately. I wonder if legally a place like that could actually be set up. Like a homeowner's association with its own stricter noise rules? I like it. But also, can it have limits on wood burning please? :D
Sometimes we need enemies to light a fire under us. Thank your neighbors for helping you to find your home. If not for them, you would still be in a place that did not meet your needs. All the best in your new place.
Having peace means everything. Thank God that you were able to get out. Having rude, noisy, non respectful neighbors is the worse place, feeling, or thing in the world.
Can't stand inconsiderate neighbours. I had nearly 8 years of being sandwich between 2 men who were abusive and unkind dog barking 7 hours a day cameras pointed into my back garden and front door. Neighbours who looked into my bedroom and TV windows as I lived in a bungalow. I moved 1 and half years ago to the wild UK countryside it's so peaceful here amazing beautiful veiws from my windows. It's got a log fire big shed 2 log sheds a summer house conservatory massive front and back garden and one neighbour who are very friendly. I prayed for 3 years to have a peaceful home and my prayers are answered. I'm so happy here growing my own foods. Your new home is beautiful you did the right thing in moving on to a peaceful sanctuary. Blessings to you.
Glad you got out. For those with barking neighbour's dogs, there are electronic sound devices that you can point toward a dog and push the button which emits a high-pitched tone only the dog can hear. I've trained a few neighbour's dogs over the years. Doesn't hurt the dog and the neighbour need not know. Just don't let them see you doing it because, of course, they'll complain. In most cities you can report barking dogs or loud music to the bylaw enforcment dept. or the police. Once they're warned, most places will start sending the offender fines if they don't comply with the law. Doesn't make your neighbours happy, but may shut them up.
@@fredscratchet1355 So happy for you. Everyday I am greatful for my beautiful home. I'm a country girl and it's wonderful to see so much wildlife here. I wish everybody could have the home they want.
I was happy to find this video. I have a terrible neighbour, a disgusting farmer who is literally a bully. He has cut some of my trees, pulled down my walls , and sit in his tractor and stare at my house in a threatening way. I have done so much work in this house that it's hard to leave but lately I have been thinking that life is short and there's no point in living in misery. Our neighbours are so important, we actually see them more than our relatives. They can literally ruin your life. They are basically bullies. You definitely made the right decision. The place is beautiful.❤
I stumbled on your site. Single female senior here. I left a midwest neighborhood due to too much noise, too many people, a rental home next door constantly in and out music and who knows what. I left and found a home in the mountains of Arizona. I did not isolate myself as I am on the outskirts of town, but it is a different world. I have lived by one philosophy about “home”…I don’t argue with neighbors or do something that destroys my positive feeling of being home when I drive into my driveway. Now I am not naive, I know sometimes we can’t just pick up and move, but I would rather live in a shack by the side of the road and than in a negative environment . You made a great choice.
I’m in the same boat but in the Uk and it’s very stressful when you have bad neighbours. I can’t move at the moment but my present neighbours are moving g on so I’m hoping the next lot are decent people
We left the country, drastic ? Yes . But oh so much more affordable, Quiet and we’re only a 4 hr flight away if we need to go back “ upstairs “ . Retirement at its best. Perfect 65-75 year around.
We did the same. After a series of bad neighbours in the U.K. we packed up and left. Now living in France in a quiet and peaceful country house, with good neighbours we rarely see. I wouldn’t move back for anything.
What a truly beautiful video of your experience. Very relatable. I am very interested in your journey and will be watching as you post. The best of luck to you and your journey.❤❤
I live an hour outside Tokyo, and I could hear a pin drop most hours of most days, amazing what respecting ones neighbors can accomplish. Love your new property, looks like an upgrade for sure.
@@rjm7166 I agree to a point. However, when I was a teenager, I hated loud exhaust on pickup trucks. I still do. Thankfully, one of my annoying neighbors may be moving soon.
I thought I was the only one. I moved away from a house with 1.5 acres and a national forest across the street. I had a neighbor move in with 3 dogs and no fence. One of his dogs come over all the time. Calling the useless law was a joke until that dog eat the leather seats out of my 1959 MGA Roadster. I confronted the law that is when I decided to leave, I left that place that very day. I had had enough of the jacked up trucks with no mufflers, loud stereo, drug dealers and the traffic it caused. I sold my home after some time and bought a place 3.5 hours away. Should have done it a lot sooner. Thanks for the video and good luck.
This is my biggest fear…moving to the country for peace and quiet only to have Meth Head Johnny, all the druggies, loud ass trucks etc… Then I’d have to move again. My husband would want a divorce.
@@lindas5964 I found a wonderful old neighborhood with all retired people living there. Got to be friends with them all. I just hope that I pass away before the place goes to pot. A small town on a small one lane road.
My home is older than I am and built as solid as a Mack truck. I love it and have great neighbors. The area is quiet but I have to let my dogs out; however if they start any incessant barking right back in the house they come.
My friend, I'm so happy for you. I've never seen your channel before, but I can relate. My prior house had great neighbors until they sold the homes on each side to the anti-Christ and his extended family. Yes, both my new neighbors were related. They'd have the karaoke parties every weekend, all year round, by their pools with dozens of cars everywhere. This would start about 7pm every Friday and continue to midnight Sunday. They'd go back and forth all day and all night while talking really loud, blasting music, jumping in the pool, kids screaming, and dogs barking all night long. No amount of polite discussion had any effect. I finally had enough and put up HUGE spotlights on my property. They were aimed straight down, but lit everything up like Yankee Stadium on all 3 properties. They didn't like it. I started leaving my dog access to get outside into my yard at-will, and she would bark all day while I was at work. They didn't like it. I made them miserable right back. I quietly sold my house without a realtor, no yard sign, to a very nice married couple who were both cops. They were friends, so they knew what they were in for, no surprises. I moved 1000 miles away to the Ozarks, as my name suggests. I live in peace. I found an older home, an acre of land, and it has a decent sized shop. Not two shops, not huge, but big enough to work on my old cars and build some things. It's been 2.5 years, and I haven't been bothered by anyone. My blood pressure is normal again. I wake up happy every day. Isn't finding your peace wonderful? I wish you peace and all the best.
Amen brother, l left N.J. 40 years ago as a young man of 28, moved to Adirondack Mts on 24 acres. People need breathing room, my neighbor is my twin brother, plenty of room between us, and we're both into the same activities, God bless you and i know you have a whole new world ahead of you. SMART MOVE AND GOOD LUCK,
NJ...I can't stand living here too. There's too many people!!!! Even here in Southern NJ. Everywhere you go, you can't get away from them. If there's an open spot, in about 20 seconds someone magically appears to fill it up. Traffic is so constant that the roads are always busy even out in the middle of the pine barrens suburbia during the work day hours when people should be at work and school. all day long car after car after car. Like cockroaches, just oozing out around every turn. Imagine trying to back out of a spot at a convenience store when your in a boondocks area and you just sit there looking in your mirror's as one car after another keeps preventing you any opportunity to even reverse out. You just want some milk and find yourself battling 100 other people like pigs at a trough trying to fight for whatever over priced thing is left on the shelf that's available to eat. Every acre is owned and populated. Every house has at least 3 people in it at any given time of the day. I want out of this state so badly. I deliver a mail route and am stuck here due to work and a few family that I still have left. But, man every second of my day there's just always someone, often times multiple someone's, that are constantly just in the way of me just getting my job done and going home. And even when I get home it's like the guy in this video...there's always landscaper with their loud machines or neighbors who are milling around like zombies. People constantly walking in front of the house looking in the windows, letting their dogs pee all over our perimeter (the cable box get pissed on like 10 times a day) and I know if it wasn't for paying 10k in prop taxes/half a million for a normal home that this little prison of a piece of land that we call home would instantly have 100's of people trying to get in on this space for their own. People People everywhere. You'll now even see a lot of houses that have 2nd generations living in RV's parked in the back yard. 4 cars in the driveway with 2 more on the road (which is not a parking lot!!) I'm sure, like me those people want out too but can't afford to but F me...stop having kids. I feel like society has robbed me that lifestyle. In a world of twisted women, being priced out of the housing market, and living in a time of "People" I don't get the luxury of having a family of my own. But then dumb people who make irresponsible choices are still hooking up and spitting out kids right and left. Just more people to contend with in about 15 years time. More cars on the road. More competition for buying that rare house that might come on the market. You just can't enjoy a lake if 20,000 other people want to enjoy it too. Then they have to make 101 laws and restrictions to where nobody gets to enjoy it and just winds up being privately owned. This is NJ in a nut shell. Every damn acre of it. And I despise it here.
I went a step further and retired on partially wooded rural acreage with no close neighbors. I found out the hard way that if you have any close neighbors, it's just a matter of time before they divorce/die and sell, or turn the home into a rental, and then it's a crap shoot on what kind of neighbor you get.
BINGO ! Its the only sure way to avoid neighbor problems. I have the same situation except I only have 2 acres. Im surrounded by a few hunnert acres of forest land others own. Sadly there is a very small house on a single acre right alongside me. The guy was only there at night, bachlor with no animals and super , super quiet. Now, he has moved out and the owner is ready to sell it off. His price is way too high by alot for whats there and its condition. I either have to pay way too much and control the situation or roll the dice and be ready for bad crap to evolve in the near future. It simply sucks, but thats how it is if you dont have tons of money to throw at it and situate yourself with NO nearby neighbors and / or some serious buffer zone to your place.
I did the same thing. i actually moved across the country. When looking for a house to move to, I insisted to the Real Estate Agent that I did not want to be in "town" and wanted to be up in the more rural mountain area. I love it. I am surrounded by farms and just a few neighbors.
Ty for this video, it gives me hope! I am going through a terrible time with a neighbour. I have lived here 32 years and they have destroyed my quiet country life and the value of my property….all thanks to our Township that let them open a dump right in my back and side yard. It was illegally approved and not even zoned for it, so I am basically trapped. Thank goodness I have an environmental group helping me. I felt so bad for you, those neighbours that you had were awful! I’m glad you found a new place that will let you live with peace and quiet.
Rarely do you have peace with people. People ruin everything. Sad but true. I used to like people until I opened my eyes. We have a "Karen" and a "Ken". They can do things but if you do the exact same thing they complain, scream at you, threaten to call the police. And they can't understand why you don't want to be "friends" anymore. When you repeatedly show your ignorance people finally get fed up. Somewhat normal people may let things slide to just get along or just because they're a good person. Even good people have their limits. I don't want neighbors.
People don't respect others anymore. My husband and I enjoyed 25 yrs on 5 acres in the mountains. We didn't have dogs, nor did we trouble anyone. The last 5 years there were very different. A younger generation of neighbors moved in. They played their music loudly, let their big dogs run free, and fired their AR-15s after a few drinks day or night. There were No gun laws or noise ordenance, no leash laws to protected us. We couldn't even feel safe on our own property. So, we moved to a retirement community where we can at least take a safe walk and it's quiet. Now I laugh every time I think about those red trucks running up and down our gravel roads with the bumper sticker that states " Don't Tread on Me". Something is terribly wrong with such people. Maybe one day they may remember what they did to their fellow neighbors and weep.
@@dianab9688 You're right about that. People are not respectful anymore. They're only out for one person. Themselves. I do have a nice bible study class of people; they're older though. Younger people haven't been taught any manners, decency or anything else of value. We better hope we stay healthy and don't have to depend on somebody to take care of us. Can you imagine having a stranger from an agency coming into your home to care for you. FRIGHTFUL
@@dianab9688 I find that those who show off that expression often do the treading, as they did in your case. It's all about what they want, and what consequences this has on others is something they don't care about whatsoever. It's not the case for all people as I know some who are respectful, but the percentages of them are low. Bad neighbors do come from all walks of life though. We were driven from our home back in the 90's due to an influx of terrible neighbors. Most of them hailed from California and brought their self entitled and HOA opinions with them. They were unfriendly, pet haters and reported you for every little thing about your yard they did not like. I would take a yappy dog and loud music any day over the hell we lived in those last few years.
Duuude.. wife and i are doing the same thing.. leaving upstate New York.. bought 2.27 acres in N.E. Nevada.. 20 minutes from town.. we will be totally off grid.. nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away.. good for you man.. screw humanity lol..
Just celebrated two years in my new quiet rural area. I understand completely. We moved from our house of six years due to renters next door. I was so jaded from my last experience I didn't want shared fences. We ended up with 2 acres, easements on three sides just to have added separation.
Would also like to do that, but when you are single, old and without money, there is no chance to find something affordable on the countryside here in Austria anymore. Rich people from the cities came here, bought everything they could find, and the prices are too high now. Am stuck in noise and dirt. 🙁
Same here! 20 years and now the neighbors' nonstop cars idling, dogs barking and loud music......so Congratulations on your piece of paradise or should I say peace of paradise😊
What a nice place. I can see so many projects happening. It is truly a shame that some people just do not have the respect for privacy and quietness. But in time that will come back to bite them. Peace and quiet is needed so much at this time.
Realtors never tell you the whole truth, we bought a house and found out later about a new development - a sheet metal shop in the neighborhood. They also played very loud music....The Realtor pretended she didn't know about this but of course she did, she even boasted that she knew everyone. Ask our Lord JESUS for guidance and protection.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Those were my first thoughts. I know how excited it can be looking at a potential new home and all that buying a house involves and it would be sad for the new people to get settled in and right away begin having problems. I feel sorry for them.
Same here in East Tennessee. My parents have lived in the same home for 62yrs during C-19 all the old people that lived here passed away. then idiots bought everything around us Dog's & dumbass's destroyed my peaceful neighborhood. when my mom passes in late stage dementia I'll sell Fast just to get my peace & quiet back. Congratulations Man being happy is Priceless Awesome place
CV19 is a military op. All the old people were victims of that op. Come on people. Wake up. See things for what they really are. To delude yourselves is extremely dangerous. Unless you too want to be a victim of the war on humanity being perpetrated on the global population.
I moved to Sevierville 4 years ago and it has changed SO much in those 4 years! I totally understand. A few months ago I sold my car and bought a 22 ft van that I am doing some modifications on so it will be my house on wheels; at least for a while 🤷♀️ I’ll visit my kiddos and their kids in Texas and I will see what is next after that. I lived in Alaska some years before coming to Tennessee and thought when I moved here this would be it for me. But ohhhhh wellll…. I miss Alaska but that is a tough place from a single lady of 71 to live. God promised He has good plans for me and I trust Him. Blessings on you in your new home🙏
I also have one neighbor who ruins everything for the whole neighborhood. Always trying to interfere with things that are nothing of his business. When he tried to get my garden shed removed that I built with my late grampa together because it "blocked his view" it was the last straw: I built the largest addition I could get a permit for and installed my 10ft satellite dish as close to him as possible. He got the message and took me out of his "people to harass" list.
Your channel popped up into my feed just when I needed it. I’m in an apartment and I have a Psychotic, Mean, Evil, Cruel, Miserable, Schizophrenic, Bipolar, lonely neighbor who I truly believe is Satan’s Sister who harasses, stalks and torments me literally 24 hours A DAY! No exaggeration! I mean because of her, I literally think that crazy people must do not need sleep! But instead of boring you with the details I will just say so when I saw the title of your video I knew that the universe wanted me to see it. I’m sorry that you’ve had to go through what you all of that but I am SO glad that you got out and I’m happy for you! Congratulations and enjoy your new home. 😀
Beautiful. You just popped up on my feed. I have always appreciated peace, quiet and freedom and it looks like you now have it in a stunning location. We did something similar here in the UK just before covid. The kids had all grown up, moved out and got their own families so we sold up and moved out of the city to the countryside. It's not quite as remote as your place as wifey likes to see the grand children at the weekends but it's peaceful and we wake up to the sound of birdsong in the mornings. I just subscribed, hoping to follow your journey💖
This is wonderful for you. I wish I could do the same. I have lived in my house for over 20 years. Neighborhood has changed. Surrounded by inconsiderate, irresponsible people on 3 sides. I can't even sit on my deck any more like I always did to enjoy my yard I cultivated.
Huge congratulations! I can hear the joy and relief in your voice when you talk about your workshops. Well done for taking control and leaving all that crap behind you. People are good for occasional visits - that's about it - having distance to your neighbours is a blessing - all the best from Rural west wales :)
I just saw your channel...Idk how long you’ve been trying to endure those noisy neighbors but glad all that's over and that you protected your peace and sanity!
Stumbled upon your video and immediately started to cringe when you got to the barking dog. I basically live in the same situation. When we bought our house 11 years ago it was quiet and somewhat peaceful. They sold the farmland that was behind us and built 2 story cookie cutter homes basically in our backyard. All 5 of our neighbors that are next to our property or directly across the street have dogs. The older man across the street has 6 dogs and he goes out in his backyard and yells at 1,2,3 AM several times a week. Loud trucks at 2 and 3 AM. Garbage truck comes through at midnight to pick up the neighbor's trash. Cats climb our fence and dig in my garden beds. Loud music from the neighbor beside us. I want out of here so bad. Your new property is lovely and those mountains are gorgeous. I think you've persuaded me to push a little harder and move next year. Thank you and take care.
We had recently moved into our retirement home and my next door neighbor . Also retired, but about 15 years my senior started in on us from almost the first day . Small stuff at first them suggestions on property line and so on . Getting worse and worse . To the point where we couldn’t go into the front or back ( with privacy fence) yard without being intercepted by him. We are both prior military and because his retired rank was higher than mine he tried pulling rank pretty much from the get go. My mindset was I’ve been out for such a long time I don’t consider my self part of that structure any more. Long story short I just bought a house with six acres and put my current one on the market . So long Captain …
Let’s hope that whomever you end up selling your property to are either musicians, has a bunch of dogs, likes to work on cars in the driveway all day, or does woodworking in the backyard from sun up to sun down. Your neighbor earned it 👍
I totally get it. I'm surrounded by loud trucks with no mufflers, loud motorcycles, people slamming doors, and when I go outside to enjoy my property, all I can smell is pot and cigarettes. I've been here 24 years, and I am so disgusted. Paid my home off 2 years ago and retired hoping for a peaceful last leg of my journey. It's not happening here. I do what I can to self soothe and just stay to myself. Good luck to ya. BTW, I live in Florida hurricane Helene and Milton blew through recently. My neighbors maple tree fell on my fence splitting it. He refused to remove it or repair the fence or even help with the cost. Cost me $900 to have tree removed and fence repaired. Good fences make great neighbors until said neighbors wrecks the fence! This world has gone bonkers.
Trees falling typically are considered acts of god unless the tree is a known hazard or dead. Your homeowner's insurance is who picks up the claim. But it would be nice if the neighbor picked up your deductible or split the cost of the repairs.
I have lived all over the country and Florida is one of the loudest places I've ever lived. I have a house next to mine that is for sale and I live in terror of who will move into that property because it would be very easy for them to make my life miserable. The old neighbor, aka a meth dealing squatter, who we didn't know about before we moved in, traumatized us before they were physically removed by the police. I pray for a quiet older person who just wants to enjoy the peace but I don't think that is what I'm going to get based on my track record.
The neighbor didn't make the tree fall. The hurricane did. Would you want to pay if a tree in your yard fell because of a hurricane you had no control over?
What a beautiful video. It's a shame that self-centered neighbors ruined your peace in your previous home, but it sure nudged you forward in gaining even greater peace on this gorgeous property.
I get why you moved. New place looks great! We had neighbors who went to work and left their two barking dogs in the back all day - very inconsiderate of others! All the neighbors complained to them, but it did no good. What is wrong with people! Edit to add that my husband ran into our neighbors with the barking dogs one day after they moved away. The neighbor said that he now understood our pain as they had a dog next door that barked all the time! Karma!!
Same in my area. There is a dog a few houses down that barks all the time, and his bark echoes off the homes. It’s at times unbearable after an hour drive home from work, when you just want to hear nothing.
You've created a Heaven on Earth. I guess you owe those other folks and their dog, karaoke and drumhead son a real big thanks! You took lemons and made lemonade. Congratulations!
Lmao, while I have this playing my dog hears your neighbors dog and starts growling/barking at the sound. To make this even better my dog is a ShihTzu and has NEVER done this before. People aren’t meant to live so close to each other, it’s healthier to live as close to nature as possible. 7:56 YES, that’s what I want, silence and peace. Amazing and Beautiful. I envy you what you’ve found.
The same thing happened to me but I called Animal Control in our city. I gave them proof and they told them they would site them if the dog continued barking all day!! My other neighbor had a band and used to have the band playing Spanish music whenever he wanted. I told him about it, he still continued. I called the police several times and he most likely got told if they come out again for any loud music that they will start giving him large fines! It's been months now and I finally found the peace I think I deserve!!! Call me wrong if you like but I don't need inconsiderate people constantly invading my space!!!
I used to hear my neighbor’s dog bark the whole time I was getting ready for work and then when I retired, I found out it barked all day. I filed a noise complaint with animal control and they were warned but it didn’t stop. I filed another complaint so from then on there would be a fine . It stopped. It’s sad that it takes so much for someone to pay attention.
I appreciate your wisdom & sensitivity to "cut & chase" your neighbor problems. We are here to have fun And it looks as though you have found your new place of peace & creativity in silence.
So Sorry to hear about what you've had to deal with such rude neighbors. I boggles my mind , how people give no thought to their Noise ( music, barking dogs, loud parties ) effecting the peace of their neighbors. We had a neighbor who played loud music every weekend and sometime during the week out of his truck with his vibrating boom base , It literally vibrated our 100 yr old homes windows . My husband had a nervous breakdown because of it & had to start on medication. I appreciate how you handled it. You just left ! I wish we could have afforded to do that. That's what he wanted to do , but it's was not possible. The good news is ,The Neighbor moved. 🥳🎉 For Now peace has been restored. 🙏
Yes, it severely affects our emotions. My neighbour blasted her horn daily all the way past my house because she knew it made my dogs bark. Deliberate and hateful from a 70 year old woman. Go figure.
We were driven away from our home by neighbors with dogs that never EVER shut up. I was half nuts by the time we got out of there. We moved to western Illinois in the middle of nowhere and have been happy as can be...............until 1 week ago, when the house 1/10 of a mile from us sold . We have an endless parade of idiots on dirt bikes and 4-wheelers roaring by at all times of the night. I expect they'll be getting barking hounds too, based on how they keep the yard. I don't know where to go anymore. There are people EVERYWHERE and they all seem to be loud, obnoxious and totally self-centered. Sometimes I wish I would lose my hearing.........
Immigrunts are clueless. THAT'S the problem. Happens everywhere now. Move to the woods in States that have long cold winters, that's the only way to avoid the grunts.
You need a house with acreage, at least 3 to muffle some of the possible noises from neighbors. 1/10 mile not enough and something with bigger yard should have been your first move, but I know those are expensive.
My hearing is going, but I live in a senior housing, DEPLORABLE! No place for decent people. But the upstairs neighbors smoke dope and plenty of cigarettes. Old lady and another person. And an indoor dog which does what dogs do except bark, indoors. Pew! There seems to be no decent place to live at this point in time 80 years old lady I am. God bless you all who can get away.❤
My mom is 86 and has been in her home for over 60 years. New neighbors moved in with tons of family and extended family. Tons of cars everywhere because of so many adults. Anyway they started blowing M 80s off in the middle of the night. They are illegal here but they go to Mexico to buy them. Sounds like a bomb and shakes my moms house. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. Sad.
Hello, Sue,if noise keeps following you no matter where you move, then you may want to check out "Targeted Individual" or "Gangstalking". It's a very secret program of the country that is meant to drive you insane and to make you feel or portrayed as mentally ill. I hope and pray you are neither but just wanted to pass on I and others experience. God Bless, Renee` from Florida.
Been there done that in 2023 when I retired at 57 - I moved myself 1800 mules back to my home province and bought a log home with a 25’x40’ shop on a 5 acre rural property. I bought a new to me truck and an 8’x16’ trailer and hauled 2 loads up and over Lake Superior to complete the move. Glad I did it and even more grateful that task is behind me.
God bless you. I totally understand the neighbor situation. It is a humans right to have peace. Some neighborhoods need to be left to find that blessing. Your voice is calm and peaceful, which tells me your spirit is the same. The new property drive to the location is so soothing. I wish you much happiness and ahhhh.... peace!
Our AOAO just raised the maintenance fee by $ 700 per month. My bad cause I have been looking for a small house in the country for years now. Somewhere I can live a quiet life in peace. Soo weird that this video popped up for me today but I think the universe is trying to tell me that change is hard - but sometimes it works out for the best. At least I hope so. Just subscribed to see what happens with you but it looks like a good ( and courageous ) move !
Same situation here. Been in our home for almost 35 years. Had great neighbors, until one of them got sick and died. The husband ended up getting remarried and sold the house. Now the new ones suck. They are real hillbillys and proud of it. The adults don't work and the kids don't go to school. He is faking a disability and stays home working on old junk trucks he buys and resells. Most of which do not have mufflers. They love motorcycles and ATV's. Now they are now breeding dogs to boot. They are just oblivious to anyone but themselves. I am 23 months from full retirement benefits with retiree healthcare. We are sticking it out till then. Selling the house we love, and moving the hell away from here. Haven't decided where yet, but will be extremely careful before buying the next one. Did I forget to mention the 4 railroad crossings within earshot of my house?
Your place looks absolutely beautiful and so peaceful! We live in Australia, and we moved 6hours away back in January 2019 to 2.5 acres with our 3 kids in the country. Best decision we ever made. We are surrounded by farming land and distant neighbours. Couldn't pay us to leave! Enjoy your new peaceful home 🤗
I know it - this is how it works - quiet people have to move - the disturbing people stays - then there is a complaint about a social downhill in some areas - well there is a reason - there are too many rights and too few obligations. Take the step to move because this is how reality is. And you will get something much better....
I see this video has blown up big time. Good for you mate, helps with the moving expenses. I just found your channel and I’ll be back to watch a few more for sure.
I, too, have horrible neighbors. I moved here, built a beautiful home, and have worked hard to settle the chaos of my grief following my husband's death, and my neighbors have made my life miserable. Your video brings me great joy. Your new place is beautiful and filled with the peace we all deserve. I look forward to following along on your journey.
Well, I agree, for this day and time. But you don't want to be isolated from your fellow man. You have to be available to help others. Otherwise you will be a self serving individual. And that's not good.
@@jaybee608 You sound like a good neighbor. If everyone thought the way you did, there wouldn't be a problem. But you can't choose your neighbors, and it's possible to get a really toxic one. Unhinged people like that can't be reasoned with. Having some more space between you and everyone else guarantees you peace regardless of whether there's a rotten apple somewhere in the barrel, so you won't have to move. There are billions of people on Earth to be friends with; they don't have to live next to you. 🚹↔🚹🪧😀💯
I'm the neighbor that used to call the police and let them listen to the dog bark until they got tired of me and made the neighbors take it inside or face multiple violations. You'll be happier but you should've called before you left 😂. Beautiful view at your new home and two shops are great.
This happened to me 20 years ago in the UK. In hindsight it was THE BEST THING because it forced me to move and I found a fantastic place to live, I am still hear. My idiot, ignorant neighbours did me a HUGE FAVOUR.
Beautiful place! May you enjoyyyyy it! I been thinking the same thing. Neighbors dies and new ones are something else. I been thinking of moving on too. At my age, I truly want some peace and quiet. Enjoy the nature. Crochet and knit outside when the weather is good.
Bravo to you sir! In two years time I’m hoping to move to Northern AZ outta Phoenix. The city, noise and people have become unbearable! My soul dies a little each day.😢
Great choice!! Moved out of the suburbs in 1985!! Built our own houses on no less than 7 acres 3 times! Had a 1500 sq ft shop for Hondas & Toyotas....my " day" job! Now retired in OBX, NC!! 450' from the ocean!! Quiet neighborhood except for the waves lulling you to sleep!! House came with a nice workshop...heat & A/C!!
I have asian neighbors....I used to help them when they had problems. I have lived here since 1989.....its paid off. Recently the woman of the house literally screamed at my gardener for getting clippings on their driveway. My gardeners are a nice older hispanic couple and it was disrespectful scream at them. I told the husband next door to never speak to my gardeners again. Then I saw they wouldnt say hello to me anymore. Then one night at 9pm I am grilling a steak and my neighbor is outside using his leaf blower. I asked what are you doing?...H was trying blow my bbq smoke back into my yard......he said it was too smokey. Now I avoid his family and feel like I am hiding in my own house.....at 70 I feel too old to move even though I can afford it. Congrats on moving!
I will be 68 soon and I have the worse neighbors ...the lady his always high on something and comes banging on my door all hours of the night saying her boyfriend is going to kill her...I think next time I will tell if that what takes you from banging on my door at 2 am let him ...that way she will be gone and he will be in jail so I will get rid of the both of them...I am normally a nice person who loves to help others but I am at my wits end...I wish I was in your shoes where I had the funds to move...all I want is a tiny home on a nice piece of property ..this world is all messed up

@Modelscoutingwd especially when they have a pool and lots of parties
Agree.
@@Modelscoutingwd there are narcissistic neighbors who feel exactly the opposite, because they see their targets as mere objects. So, their peace isn’t even at issue.
Good for u. Am happy u have found some measure of peace in this hell
Doesn’t matter if it’s metro or rural. If your neighbors suck, it ruins your home.
Rural neighbors who like turning their property into a shooting range or motorcycle race track, for example, can ruin your peace very quickly.
Which college town?
Just curious. I left the Hudson Valley in 2022 for west side of NH. All the city folks moved up river and made life unbearable.
Peace and quiet are priceless!

I feel your pain, try not to lose your mind while you work toward your goal ❤
Your story is inspiring... you went from homeless to have a home... you hard paid off in the end 😊
That's really a shame. I really hope your future move leads you to greater peace.
Penny you seem to have found your peace. We moved out of the Black Country 5 years ago and settled in a small village in South Staffs. It's heaven.

I sold my home after some time and bought a place 3.5 hours away. Should have done it a lot sooner. Thanks for the video and good luck.
This is my biggest fear…moving to the country for peace and quiet only to have Meth Head Johnny, all the druggies, loud ass trucks etc…
Then I’d have to move again. My husband would want a divorce.
@@lindas5964 I found a wonderful old neighborhood with all retired people living there. Got to be friends with them all. I just hope that I pass away before the place goes to pot. A small town on a small one lane road.
That is SO sad and the number one reason I will never buy anything. I just keep traveling....no permanent place to lay my head
59 MGA is a beauty
@@randomvintagefilm273 agree the last two homes I have owned, both horrible neighbors. Now I just rent rooms in a quiet neighborhood!
Most homes that were built in the 50’s structurally blows away any new home today! Good for you!
I had bought a 100yr old stone home this year. Colonial style. I absolutely love it!
@ Awesome!
My home is older than I am and built as solid as a Mack truck. I love it and have great neighbors. The area is quiet but I have to let my dogs out; however if they start any incessant barking right back in the house they come.
Basements are phenomenal for sleep.
100%
Congratulations on your beautiful new home and your peace and quiet.
This was the best comment I’ve read 😂
Neighbors can make or break a good living experience. Glad you found your peaceful place.
Unfortunately, nightmare neighbors are a common reality in our current society. So sorry this happened to you, but glad you were able move.
No one cares
Neither do i stoopids😮😮
"people ruin everything" is the motto I'm going to put on my gravestone
FRIGHTFUL
@@dianab9688Narcissists only get worse as they age!
Congrats. Sounds like paradise.
"N.E. Nevada" Yowzza! That's one remote region in the US.
Even I know that, despite living in a big city in Canada.
Just celebrated two years in my new quiet rural area. I understand completely. We moved from our house of six years due to renters next door. I was so jaded from my last experience I didn't want shared fences. We ended up with 2 acres, easements on three sides just to have added separation.
Nothing is worth more than your peace and happiness. I am so happy for you. Enjoy your new home.
I'm almost a little surprised you couldn't hear your old neighbors even after driving 5 hours. The "Redrum" clip was spot on.
No coincidence that I found your video!! I’ve been wanting to quit my job, sell my house and move to the country with lots of land! God bless you!
Go for it!
Same with me✨💯❤
Would also like to do that, but when you are single, old and without money, there is no chance to find something affordable on the countryside here in Austria anymore. Rich people from the cities came here, bought everything they could find, and the prices are too high now. Am stuck in noise and dirt. 🙁
I’m stuck in chaos. It’s taking a serious toll on my all around health.
That's a wise decision, brother! I am very happy for you! I am looking forward to new videos. Cheers from Puerto Rico!
Awesome, thank you.
It’s getting hard to find a neighborhood with quiet and considerate people. I hope I can hit the jackpot when I retire. Great vlog. Gives me hope.
Feel sad for whoever bought the house.
LOL that's what I was thinking. I wonder if the realtor disclosed it or they knew as they had to walk round to inspect.
My thoughts exactly.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Those were my first thoughts. I know how excited it can be looking at a potential new home and all that buying a house involves and it would be sad for the new people to get settled in and right away begin having problems. I feel sorry for them.
I always say when you think you have the home to buy...go there on the weekend...go there at 7pm at night. See if it's right for you
Beautiful! Your soul was calling you to your purpose. Having lousy neighbors was a blessing, probably because it led you to this beauty of heaven.❤
Peace found sooner likely than expected. Also put in the work and effort to have it. Thanks for sharing.
I'm also in East Tennessee and I can't stand having neighbors anywhere around me.

CV19 is a military op. All the old people were victims of that op. Come on people. Wake up. See things for what they really are. To delude yourselves is extremely dangerous. Unless you too want to be a victim of the war on humanity being perpetrated on the global population.
Ain't that the truth!
I moved to Sevierville 4 years ago and it has changed SO much in those 4 years! I totally understand. A few months ago I sold my car and bought a 22 ft van that I am doing some modifications on so it will be my house on wheels; at least for a while 🤷♀️
I’ll visit my kiddos and their kids in Texas and I will see what is next after that.
It is sad when you are the one to leave people just don’t care anymore so sad ❤
Nope maybe fix it though bitch
Let's all just hope some douchebag buys the house and the neighbors will get their karma
Why can't you be happy for him?
Then you find out the neighbor was planning on moving. Hard to know. You needed more space anyway, but isn't it ironic sometimes?
I also have one neighbor who ruins everything for the whole neighborhood. Always trying to interfere with things that are nothing of his business.
When he tried to get my garden shed removed that I built with my late grampa together because it "blocked his view" it was the last straw:
I built the largest addition I could get a permit for and installed my 10ft satellite dish as close to him as possible.
He got the message and took me out of his "people to harass" list.
😂😂
😂petty king..love it
Yes, they are literally bullies who pick on the weakest. They can't be happy
@@naturelover6520 No they are not happy so anyone else is also not supposed to be happy in their opinion.
Nice! Thanks for watching.
This is wonderful for you. I wish I could do the same. I have lived in my house for over 20 years. Neighborhood has changed. Surrounded by inconsiderate, irresponsible people on 3 sides. I can't even sit on my deck any more like I always did to enjoy my yard I cultivated.
This happened to me too. No more tea on the porch. Where is our right to peaceful enjoyment of our property? 😢
Silence is golden!
Sorry you had to move to get away from him! 😮
You're probably better off. (See ya! Wouldn't wanna be ya!)
@@sallyvandergraaff5622 way better off. He was literally on our ass from the day we moved in .
He was such a jerk. He's got karma coming to him.
Only reckless selfish people today!😕
What a beautiful video. It's a shame that self-centered neighbors ruined your peace in your previous home, but it sure nudged you forward in gaining even greater peace on this gorgeous property.
You made the right move, literally. We are a long way from being able to bridge our differences with talk and reason. You are one of the lucky ones.
Peace. Its priceless
Karma!!
Karma is sweet.
Same in my area. There is a dog a few houses down that barks all the time, and his bark echoes off the homes. It’s at times unbearable after an hour drive home from work, when you just want to hear nothing.
@ I feel your pain!
What a dream come true! Peace & Prayers.
Just watching your new place made me happy. I wish I get a place like that someday. Thanks for sharing
Nobody and I mean NOBODY needs a Mariachi band playing in a Friggin neighborhood. You want Mariachi? Go back to Mexico.
There are rules for a reason. If they don't want to obey them, then they can move!
You did the right thing but it's not nice to live near this kind of people
Very good
I used to hear my neighbor’s dog bark the whole time I was getting ready for work and then when I retired, I found out it barked all day. I filed a noise complaint with animal control and they were warned but it didn’t stop. I filed another complaint so from then on there would be a fine . It stopped. It’s sad that it takes so much for someone to pay attention.
Living with Nature is the best place to be.
I appreciate your wisdom & sensitivity to "cut & chase" your neighbor problems.
We are here to have fun
And it looks as though you have found your new place of peace & creativity in silence.
Good for you! I hope you enjoy every minute of you new oasis!
Go figure.
I feel your pain. My neighbors are sooooo selfish and disrespectful. My Uhaul is being packed up and am moving to the Pocono Mountains in 2 weeks
Sad.

I totally understand the neighbor situation. It is a humans right to have peace. Some neighborhoods need to be left to find that blessing.
Your voice is calm and peaceful, which tells me your spirit is the same.
The new property drive to the location is so soothing. I wish you much happiness and ahhhh.... peace!
Thank you so much.
Ahhhh Quietness. Peacefulness. Weight in gold. Exactly what we're aiming for. Just came across this. Awesome !! Perfect timing
If he’s faking a disability, you should turn him in

I know it - this is how it works - quiet people have to move - the disturbing people stays - then there is a complaint about a social downhill in some areas - well there is a reason - there are too many rights and too few obligations. Take the step to move because this is how reality is. And you will get something much better....
I see this video has blown up big time. Good for you mate, helps with the moving expenses. I just found your channel and I’ll be back to watch a few more for sure.
Right on, thank you.
I'm sorry about the neighbor and congratulations on your new place! Its beautiful!
RUN FORREST RUN!!!!! People should NOT live close to each other!!!!👍👍👍🇺🇸
Well, I agree, for this day and time. But you don't want to be isolated from your fellow man. You have to be available to help others. Otherwise you will be a self serving individual. And that's not good.
I totally agree. That's part of the reason I opted to buy in this little town of 700 rather then isolated out in the sticks somewhere.
@@jaybee608That’s why you have Friends and Family.
@@i.b.lancerwhat town are you in? We are looking to move from New England. Super expensive here. Great vid, I subscribed.
Good for you, man. People these days truly are thoughtless, unaware of their surroundings, and never think they are the problem.
Have fun! 🎉
Beautiful place! May you enjoyyyyy it! I been thinking the same thing. Neighbors dies and new ones are something else. I been thinking of moving on too. At my age, I truly want some peace and quiet. Enjoy the nature. Crochet and knit outside when the weather is good.
Nothing like living out in the country. The peace of the Lord takes over. Congrats.
Yes indeed✨♥️💯🌱
Bravo to you sir! In two years time I’m hoping to move to Northern AZ outta Phoenix. The city, noise and people have become unbearable! My soul dies a little each day.😢
Great video, beautiful location. Good luck with the new place, subscribed to follow your journey
So glad you could make it! Silence Is so important!
Sounds wonderful. Thanks so much for watching.
I will be 68 soon and I have the worse neighbors ...the lady his always high on something and comes banging on my door all hours of the night saying her boyfriend is going to kill her...I think next time I will tell if that what takes you from banging on my door at 2 am let him ...that way she will be gone and he will be in jail so I will get rid of the both of them...I am normally a nice person who loves to help others but I am at my wits end...I wish I was in your shoes where I had the funds to move...all I want is a tiny home on a nice piece of property ..this world is all messed up
If you can afford to move. Move . You need your piece back
@@glendagai I can afford it but moving sounds overwhelming to an old guy like me.
Just pick what you really love. You can do it!
