This video just saved me a ton of stress on my brand new Gladiator. Thank you for this. I just took it wheeling for the first time ever. Ended up scraping skid plates and feeling like my truck was broken. Imagine my horror when the steering wheel was off and my brand new truck was throwing the ESC error. 15 mins in the garage later and we’re good to go again. Thanks again!!
Just installed a Dynatrac ProRock 44 in my Gladiator today. The steering wheel was not centered but coming from the TJ world I didn't think anything about it. Tried to drive it which was a big mistake. ESC and ABS fought me all the way home. Kinda scary to drive. Watched this video and got it fixed by adjusting my steering drag link. Thank you!!!
Thank you for the Great Info... Traction Control Light ONLY on? Follow this. Fixed up My JK 2 Door after Lift and Adjusting my front Axle position. Was just enough to make it come on and stay on. Drove it all the way to work, light stayed on... BUT... when I came out to Drive Home (next ignition cycle) It cleared and turned off. Don’t jump to conclusions if it is ONLY the Traction (ESC) light. - Takes A bit of a drive 5KM say. Traction Light AND an ABS Light - That is a wheel sensor - Different. Best Video on this Fix. Thanks Northridge!!!
Amazing that none of the lift kit videos mention this. I was a bit freaked out after installing a 3.5" lift on my JT and the steering wheel was way off and the ESC warnings came on.
OMG! Thankyou so much for this!!! After adding a new bumper and winch to the front end of my Gladiator, it went down 1/2 inch. I added 1 inch spacers on the front springs and this light came on. My steering is off a little so this totally makes sense. Thank you so much for this walk through and why it happens. No trip to the dealer for me. LOL
This video was great! explained exactly what i needed to do. Took my JL to get alignment a few months ago to a local shop and slow noticed my steering wheel was getting off centered more and more. Then my ESC light comes on. Just checked after watching your video and come to find out that shop never tightened back up that 15mm bolt!! so its been getting loose slowly but surely. Adjusted the drag link and bomb!! problem fixed! thanks for the help!!
I have a 2017 JKU. I just changed the tie rods and have the steering wheel cocked to the right. When I test drive it, the esc came on like I was slipping. Twice. Then it was ok. Driving on the highway, the light came on. Now I know why. Thank you!
Hello, thank you for your videos. My ESC and Check engine light comes on during long drives and if I’m going up a long steep grade. I lose power and need to paddle shift but still don’t get full power back. When I turn it off it will reset but will come on very soon when I start driving again... ??
That's a tough one to try to answer over messages. Lot's of Qs to ask> is this a JL/JT? How is it built? Lift, tire size etc. Do you have a Tazer mini yet?
2018 wrangler jk , when rear end shimmy’s or bounces around as one would do on a gravel road - will cause engine light then ESC light then throws Jeep into LIMP mode. Any help much appreciated. RHD mail carrier 15 yrs +
If it goes into limp mode, then there should be codes thrown. If the ESC mode is turning on over rough terrain, that will throttle the engine back, making it feel like you have no power. Turn the traction control off. Except on the JK, you can't fully turn the traction control off, the only way to do that is to unplug the J7 fuse or install a kill switch.
How hard was it to adjust the factory draglink? I'm having a hard time getting it to move and correct the steering wheel. I must mention, I also installed an adjustable Teraflex track bar. I'm wondering if that has something to do with not being able to move draglink adjuster? Should be put it on a lift? Any help on this would greatly be appreciated. Awsome video!
Jose, we had no problems at all adjusting the factory draglink. It could be tough if your is rusted. The track bar doesn't interfere with the draglink adjustment, it only locates the axle side to side under the frame. You can't adjust it on a lift, the vehicle needs to be sitting at static height. If you lift it up, the axle will drop making the steering wheel even more offset.
Northridge4x4 Man I really appreciate the feedback..I'm gonna give it another go. I'm out here in Germany serving with the Army so all my good tools and are back in the states. Once again thank you for all the helpful information.
I have the same blue gladiator, only has 32K. However, my jeep just goes into limp mode and the esc comes on and the truck just shut off!! and wont restart and and i have to tow it to the dealership every time!!. I have only changed the from bumper only on my jeep so far. I do believe the steering is slightly off a bit. My question is can the esc light cause the jeep into limp mode and just shut off for safety reasons etc. I need help!!!
Good evening. I adjusted my steering wheel and it took care of my ESU warning light. It went off and everything works like it should. Thanks 👍 very much. Saved me some money.
Great question! I am not able to determine that on my own and on a 2 week wait for jeep to service. It has been on and staying solid everytime car turns on. Recently the serve 4wd also came on as well.
It'll be a bit different with the IFS in your Grand Cherokee, but the theory is the same. If you've lifted your Cherokee and the steering wheel is off, you need to recenter the steering wheel by adjusting your steering linkage.
If your steering wheel is straight and you have have gone out and driven it for a few miles and it is still on, then you might have a bigger problem. Check with your dealer.

The ESC light came on after I had my JL aligned. Clearly I need to take it back. Thanks for the explanation.

Good morning. I fixed my ESC light on my 2013 Jeep wrangler sport yesterday evening and everything is good to go. Thanks for your video.

Wow, lucky!

now is time to install SYNERGY FRONT TRACK BAR AND SECTOR SHAFT BRACE

We haven't seen that before. What all mods have you done to the JT?
@@northridgenation only one mod made, we swap the front bumper only on the gladiator
Will this work for a JK Jeep wrangler 2013 sport
Yes.
Good evening. I adjusted my steering wheel and it took care of my ESU warning light. It went off and everything works like it should. Thanks 👍 very much. Saved me some money.
Is there a solution for fixing ESC light on a jeep grand cherokee?
Depends on what is causing it.
Great question! I am not able to determine that on my own and on a 2 week wait for jeep to service. It has been on and staying solid everytime car turns on. Recently the serve 4wd also came on as well.
My ESC on my Chevy Malibu 2019 is out since one day I hit a bump and mechanics can't seem to find the problem
That is a tough one. Sorry can't offer any suggestions on a Malibu other than try a different dealer.
My steering wheel was off in my JL also tried this and straightened the wheel out however, light still on :(
It usually takes a few miles for it to go off.
So what do I do if I adjust it all the way out but the steering wheel isn't completely straight?
That's a long way out.
How much lift do you have? You might need to go to an aftermarket adjustable draglink.
@@northridgenation no lift. 35 tires. The light went off when I drove it about a mile but it's back on now.
@@no_lft_shft if there is no lift you shouldn't have to adjust that.
@@northridgenation but I hit a curb and it kicked me steering wheel off center.
Will this work on a 2018 Grand Cherokee trailhawk?
If your steering wheel is crooked and your ESC light is on, yes, it should.
What is the code it showed?
Will this work in a 2019 keep grand Cherokee 2 wheel drive

@@northridgenation it is stock with less the 50k miles on it. Just trying to see if I could fi t myself before possibly taking to dealership
I did all that and my light still stays on
