The important thing to note is that all the other mid-sized trucks are too narrow in the bed (plus have too much wheel well intrusion, and their bed being 4 inches shorter than the Honda's in their crew cab configurations) and cannot haul a standard ATV (or 4x8 building materials) in the beds. Now, call me a conspiracy theorist, but also note that Honda is the only mid-sized truck manufacturer that doesn't offer a full-sized truck. Perhaps the utility of the other mid-sized trucks is intentionally limited to encourage full-sized sales?
Exactly. Modern "full size" monster trucks on the road are unnecessary and impractical for 90% of applications. But hey, if you wanna burn gas to look cool and pull that one oversized camper one time out of the year, so be it.
For unloading my atv, i made a little contraption. I got a heavy chain and two heavy duty carabiners. I attached it to the upper tie downs. I would then attach my winch and let it down the ramp. Real easy, no excitement at all.
Since the tie down hooks are in the left and right corners and your winch hook is in the center, I don't see that working. I'd stick with ratchet straps to keep it pulled forward on both sides.
The one thing that would worry me is when the 4 wheeler is on the ramps. That is applying the full weight of the 4 wheeler 400+ lbs (I'm guessing) onto the very back of the tailgate (The part with the most leverage) which is only designed to hold 300 lbs (Per Honda) because of the single cable on the tailgate. I get that once it's in there, the weight is a non issue, but the beginning of the loading is a nail biter. Seems to work, but keep an eye on your steel cable for degredation. I only have dirtbikes for my Ridgeline, so they are under 300 lbs.
I don’t have an ATV or Ridgeline, but I did enjoy the video. Nice work. I like the way you showed and talked about safety
Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words 👍👍
Your videos are great man. Love to see some Ridgeline content on UA-cam
Thanks for watching
That KINGQUAD is so CLEAN!
Well not always ....... 2015 KQ with Brute Force 650 wheels and it's usually muddy!
Those wheels look nice on the ridgeline.
Yes, what are they?
Thanks, they’re 20” wheels from a 2022 Honda Passport EXL.
Does the leveling kit mess with the driving pov with weight in the rear

Depending on size, you can also get 2 dirt bikes in there and the tie downs are designed for it.

Well that's certainly an even safer method but I prefer a little thrill in the event.
Super smooth, like a glove!

I’ve carried motorcycles in my 06 RL many times . No problem and fit fine with the tailgate down. Having several tiedown point is a bonus too.
Where did you get your Passport wheels? Did you get them at the dealership, or did you get them somewhere else? They look beautiful?
Found them on Facebook Marketplace
This was super helpful. Thanks for posting.
Very nice! Do you think you could latch on to a bed tie-down with an atv winch?
Since the tie down hooks are in the left and right corners and your winch hook is in the center, I don't see that working. I'd stick with ratchet straps to keep it pulled forward on both sides.
Nice wheels. Clean looking

Did the tires go over the wheel wells?
Easily because the wheel wells in a Ridgeline only stick up about 2" and there's 49" between them
Nice video there , wonder if a skidoo can go
On there
Solid advice!
the wheels are the first thing I noticed!!
How do you store the ramp when traveling?
never mind, saw the same question down in the comments.
Thanks for watching
Where do store the ramp on the truck?
Depending on which machine they are folded and strapped down under the quad or next to it in the bed.
Sir, you are an "artiste".
Good video. I have a trailer to load up my ATV and also my old truck if necessary
I have two King Quads and a Honda Passport! Oh and two new silverados lol😅love the Ridgeline
Best blend of sport, utility and reliability. And that goes for both the King Quads and the Ridgeline! Thanks for watching
Aren’t you concerned with that much weight on the tailgate? The Ridgeline is only rated for 300 pounds.
Same question. I have a CanAm xt MAX 570 and that is my biggest concern that the tailgate will buckle when loading....
Looks like you didn’t need to add a chain to the unsupported side of the tailgate. I read that the tailgate max load is 350#.
I'm estimating around 250lbs on the tailgate so no issues. more of the weight is up front with engine and winch.
Love it
