    I live in Tasmania and I pick and eat young Solomon's Seal's shoots (either raw straight from the ground after rinsing or pan frying them with salt , butter, pepper and garlic) every spring.
    They are nicer than asparagus and I look forward to harvesting three or four rounds of them each season before letting them grow up for the remainder of summer and then cutting them back just like we do with asparagus in late autumn. They are a marvelous tasty vegetable.

      Collect young shoots before the leaves open ok.
      I made myself a couple of sharp asparagus prong cutters and they work so well cutting off the young Solomon's seal shoots slightly below the ground level.
      You will absolutely love eating the Solomon's Seals for sure 100%.

    In Colorado the seeds pods are red not blue or purple. Do you know why?
