    FAQ's:
Q: Where can I purchase replacement keys?
A: If the key assembly is not installing correctly, its either due to a component being damaged and needing to be replaced or a component not being orientated correctly. I would disassemble the key as seen here in this video and inspect for damage. If there is no damage, install the key. If there is damage, replace the key. Would you like help locating a key? A: Because they key can usually not be reinstalled with the Retainer Clip and the Key Cap still attached to each other, you would have to separate them as seen here, using a small flat pry tool.
Q: The rubber spring came off. How do I reattach it?
A: There isn't really a good way to reattach those. They are not meant to be replaced. Best advice is try to use a small amount of glue. If that does not work, you may have to replace the keyboard.

If any component of the key assembly is broken or lost, it would have to be replaced. I usually get my keys on Ebay or www.replacementlaptopkeys.com. If you cannot find a loose key for sale, you may have to purchase a keyboard and take a key from there.

Nice vid - I had a problem with keys not registering when pressed, on a laptop I hadn’t used in a while - a real easy fix was to press and hold the key down , and gently twist the tip of a screwdriver in the cracks around the key’s edges - the friction was enough to clean the contacts, without disassembling the key - it’s a good first step to get problem keys working again!

Just more detail. Since it is the hardest part to remove. Your movements are very quick and the footage is not very focused. I'm not able to see the exact points your applying pressure to. I'm able to remove the keys on my laptop, but not the retainer clips properly without breaking them. A video exclusively on the retainer clip would be appreciated.

I'm super happy with how thorough this is, usually I have to find like 5 different tutorials before I find my issue, but this had everything in one video! My little rubber piece came off and I was worried if gluing it would ruin it, but it seems it should be fine (hopefully gorilla glue works), if not I'll take it to a tech shop but thank you for the helpful tutorial :) (I'm hoping I can also glue my key back together since it came off by breaking in half by being used too much)

If your Key Cap is not clicking down in place correctly, it is most likely due to the Retainer Clip not being properly installed or damaged. Remove the Cap and inspect for damage or that its not laying down flush and properly snapped in itself. Compare to another Clip if needed by removing another Cap.

If your Key Cap is not clicking down in place correctly, it is most likely due to the Retainer Clip not being properly installed or damaged. Remove the Cap and inspect for damage or that its not laying down flush and properly snapped in itself. Compare to another Clip if needed by removing another Cap.

@@PC_Monkey thanks for getting back again so soon!
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear: there's no issues pressing it. Both with and without the cap on, the rubber covered spring goes down normally. What is odd is that they character doesn't register/display unless I get a little aggressive with the pressure. It can work but only with elbow grease. I can't see anything obvious with the pressure, I think there's an issue with contact at the base inside the mechanism but I don't know enough to figure out what exactly, or if there's anything that can be done. With the cap on it feels just like the other buttons.

One thing worth noting: this is an "e" key , and before cleaning the keyboard yesterday the "7" and "c" were also not very responsive. But cleaning those two mostly fixed the issues. The "e" is being stubborn. Is there some common circuit they share? The "d", however, is completely fine.
