How I Made This Liminal Blender Scene In Minutes
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лип 2024
- In this video, we're creating a strangely familiar liminal space in 3d with the help of Blender, our focus is on a vintage school hallway. By creating our scenes in 3d, we can increase our ability to conceive any structure render out a strangely familiar image. Have fun exploring liminality.

I'm obsessed with pools. I used to dream a lot about spaces like that when I was little.
Yeah liminal spaces hit that spot between nostalgia and dreamcore, empty indoor pools filled with rays of sun definitely does it.
Liminal spaces is what got me into 3D design, that and synthwave visuals
dude why are you so underrated? I hope you keep making more videos man I wanna see you grow.
I appreciate it man, don't worry, I've got plenty of big videos coming out soon enough
I might be wrong but I think your wall brick texture got flipped normals (the bricks look pushed down), check face orientation, otherwise great video
true
I thought that as well
please make a series on this !! you did amazing with this and I love seeing liminal spaces being created in blender.
I might be done with these horror backrooms spaces but I'm very excited about exploring 3d short films on similar liminal topics this year :)
Amazing video, I love liminal spaces because they have this different feeling to anything.
That short video was really well done, I felt so creeped out especially when the lights went out, eep!
A series on this would be epic that looks so good man
gave me chills, great work!
Really need more like this one
Your channel is so underrated! Your work is so cool and I love how you explain techniques and concepts so simply. Please please please consider creating a full tutorial course for beginners!
Totally agree especially this video
quick and to the point, this is so good
Thanks! I appreciate your comment, I hope to see you for future 3d content.
Amazing work
Would love to see more videos like this one
👍🏾👍🏾I second that, this is Fantastic Work!!!
This is so cool😭 I need this skill to create my comic💔I used to think drawing is enough but now I know it takes too much time and I actually need 3D spaces…And the most bothering part is-every character has its own space😀😃Am I going to die out of exhaustion idk!
amazing work!
awesome
it's really inspires me to learn blender! =)
Amazing ! Subscribed !
Thanks! With this tutorial, I can recreate a room in the void from TBOI
that is amazing
Thanks!
love it man ure awesomee!
Thanks!
That's awesome, I also started two videos about liminal spaces on my channel, blender is so powerful!
very nice!
bro that Nostalgia thing is really real.
Damn what part of the video made you nostalgic?
I would love to see more super hero/ anime animations 💥
wtf, this is insane
Ill leave this comment here and will check again after 1 year. For sure, this channel will have 1m subs by that time. Great content my guy. Goodluck!
imma try and do something like this
The locker storage array needed some randomness. Slight one in placement but definetely replace the grunge texture with another one, having different UVs for each instance.
The brick texture is so big the hallway looks like its for ants
It's just a specific brick style I found in references, alot of buildings have them
These are concete bricks not ceramic ones. They usually are more than 30cm/1 foot long.
I just find you. Mind blowing
I appreciate it man, stay tuned for more
please make more videos like this! could you also show how to make this liminal space effect. so that everything looks blurry noisy and old
Amazing work!!! Do you have any tutorial on the post-work edit by any chance? Is that after effects? I think that added the vintage vibe to come the whole thing alive!
Hey yes there was lot of post work done in After Effects, but the real money shot comes from a third-party plugin from Red Giant Universe called VHS. That automatically takes care of the old footage look, now you know!
This is motivating me to come back to building bcuz yes :D
Thanks man
Quite scary 😱
BRO CAN U PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO MAKE THAT OLD VHS TAPE LOOK IN FINAL ANIMATION. AMAZING VIDEO OVERALL
Please doo i would like more videos on luminal spaces
How did you do the final outro VHS style look? And Walking cam?
I see what you did with the gmod font. Big ups, my dude
Wow someone noticed! Coolvetica is super clean
@@Regoliste yes! And gmod is the pinnacle of liminal spaces. The source engine is a gem.
What website did you get the lockers from
You get a feeling of UNEASE, not "uneasiness".
How did you make the camera shake???
How was he able to make the ceiling tiles? and how did he add in a physical light with the area: light add-in, like did he put one on top of the other?
How did you make the camera move like they?
how did you made the VHS effect?
This is awesome!! How did you get the DVD quality and overlay at 2:45 ?
Hey! The DVD quality effect is from Red Giant's Universe VHS plugin for After Effects. Though there are free but tedious methods out there to achieve a similar result.
Thanks! can we get a full tutorial on how to make limital spaces like this one but longer? like a full tutorial of blender?@@Regoliste
@@solidasstone Yeah sure I'll get back into liminal spaces soon, will be posting 3d content again so be sure to subscribe!
How did you achieve that old handheld camera look?
third party after effects plugin called 'VHS', part of Red Giant Universe
great job!can you send the link to the locker model?
Hey there, I can't remember the exact locker model but you should be able to find some good free stuff online, I'll link a page to where you can find them
www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/locker?free=1
@@Regoliste thx!
if you dont mind me asking, do you use substance painter to texturise your stuff?
Nope just native blender shaders and image textures
is the door model you used free? if not can I please get a free option suggestion like that one
Yes that door was free, the project's like 2 years old so I can't remember but you can easily find free door models at turbosquid, cgtrader, sketchfab and filtering 'free'
can you link the human reference ? plz
Just look up any generic 'man reference 3d model'.
Check out some examples: free3d.com/3d-models/male
Bro link
i'd like to spend a day in the backrooms.
and eat the spaghetti monster.
pasta.
The scale of the bricks map is too big it’s bothering me, and the bump map is reversed.
gg
This looks more horror than liminal lmfao
