  • In this video, we're creating a strangely familiar liminal space in 3d with the help of Blender, our focus is on a vintage school hallway. By creating our scenes in 3d, we can increase our ability to conceive any structure render out a strangely familiar image. Have fun exploring liminality.

      Yeah liminal spaces hit that spot between nostalgia and dreamcore, empty indoor pools filled with rays of sun definitely does it.

    I might be wrong but I think your wall brick texture got flipped normals (the bricks look pushed down), check face orientation, otherwise great video

      I might be done with these horror backrooms spaces but I'm very excited about exploring 3d short films on similar liminal topics this year :)

    This is so cool😭 I need this skill to create my comic💔I used to think drawing is enough but now I know it takes too much time and I actually need 3D spaces…And the most bothering part is-every character has its own space😀😃Am I going to die out of exhaustion idk!

    The locker storage array needed some randomness. Slight one in placement but definetely replace the grunge texture with another one, having different UVs for each instance.

    The brick texture is so big the hallway looks like its for ants

      It's just a specific brick style I found in references, alot of buildings have them

      These are concete bricks not ceramic ones. They usually are more than 30cm/1 foot long.

    Amazing work!!! Do you have any tutorial on the post-work edit by any chance? Is that after effects? I think that added the vintage vibe to come the whole thing alive!

      Hey yes there was lot of post work done in After Effects, but the real money shot comes from a third-party plugin from Red Giant Universe called VHS. That automatically takes care of the old footage look, now you know!

      Hey! The DVD quality effect is from Red Giant's Universe VHS plugin for After Effects. Though there are free but tedious methods out there to achieve a similar result.

      Yes that door was free, the project's like 2 years old so I can't remember but you can easily find free door models at turbosquid, cgtrader, sketchfab and filtering 'free'
