ABOUT US:
Life’s better on Australian built oversized U shaped road wheels for a third of the big brand price. 10/11 Speed Compatible, High TG heat resistant resins, advanced kevlar anti fracture, true tension 2 to 1 spoke ratios are just the start of how we’ll help make your next carbon wheelset choice really easy. Caden builds wheels for road racers, triathletes & every day riders that want wide blunt profiles, stiff durable hand spoking, 3 year warranty & helpful Aussie service.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
Our full carbon fibre wheels come with everything you’ll need to get riding fast with no fuss or missing pieces. Wheels include FREE valve extenders with Teflon sealant (to avoid nasty valve leaks), FREE ceramic composite brake pads, FREE rim tape & FREE lightweight titanium skewers.
THE RIDE
Caden wheels are meticulously hand spoked with elbow out wide flange placement on the front and 2 to 1 spoke ratio on the rear to make sure your wheel corners correctly, accelerates without lag & doesn’t make noise. I’m 6ft 4inches 95kg and build the wheels to withstand riding pressures above the norm so you can enjoy them for years to come. All our wheels undergo rigorous testing and we stand by them with a 3 year warranty plus a generous crash replacement policy (that we hope you’ll never have to use but hey #hit happens and if it does we’ll look after you).
SERVICE
External nipples, sealed bearings & true tension spoke patterns make Caden’s long lasting and very easy to maintain. Our subtle stealth logo’s are hand printed in house with a 2 pack epoxy ink that doesn’t come off unlike stickers that can flap after a few races. For our last wheel print we used less than 10 grams of ink for 40 wheels compared to a single sticker weighing between 1-2 grams.
After riding for many years on kevlar bead clinchers, I bought my very first set of tubular wheels because I saw them for sale at a unbelievably low price. I've now bought some Vitoria tires to go on them. The only thing to do now is to get the right valve extenders and the tape. I'm a little apprehensive and excited at the same time. This is a great video that's very informative. The local bike shops want a small fortune to install tubulars, so I'm going to attempt to do it myself. If it goes pretty well, I'll put them on both my road bikes. Thank you.
Excellent tutorial. My bike was stole five years ago and i had not ridden since a week ago, after buying a used road bike with tubulars and never tried them before.
When the seller told me they were taped, i was dubious, but now i understand.
Thank you.

I used the Caden Rim tape on my last fit. Don't think I will ever glue on tubs again. This tape is the best GR8 Tape
Totally agree, on the use of tape. Started using my old tubular rims, since the tape was invented. I use Tufo, as it is easy to procure. KB.
i'm convinced
especially the "bunching up" shirt/jumper analogy
Great video! I agree with you on tubular being the best technology and that taping makes them accessible for everyone. Tubular rims are also about 200 grams lighter per pair.
I 've ridden on Caden tubular 38's for a year now. I use his tape and have had zero issues. His wheels are simply 'eye candy'. I lean those things hard and stomp on them going up hill. I think I feel more confident on the climbs knowing they are tubular light. I run Vittoria corsa g2 25's on them, with no issues. I had a flat at the end of the season, but also with my clinchers, in the same construction spot near home. tubs had a pin hole. I put some latex sealant in the tubs and was on my way next day. If you put sealant in latex tubs, it stops them from deflating over night, as latex does, also if they deflate, the latex sticks together. Folks, pick up my Cadens and go...No wonder you make climbing look so easy, your wheels are super light! I will be trying Caden clinchers this season as well. I can Highly recommend Caden products at this time, and he can assist with any questions...they promptly return emails also...Superb service from this company (and I'm in the states)
Awesome video!!! I have been using tubular for the past 10 years. Dudes at the bike shop always look at me like I'm a freak, although, It's been getting better recently. I'm so glad you have this video in defense of tubular and tape. Thank you!!
You make some very good points, and your logic about why this tape is safe makes complete sense. Everyone who made videos against tape just discussed what teams do, but they did not discuss why or why not to use them.
I bought a tubular wheelset by accident on eBay. Was planing on reselling them to recoup my cost since I have zero experience with them. Now, I’m definitely keeping them to try something new.
I’m not sure if I trust his opinion... that is one hell of a stack of tapes that he needs to sell.
Hi, I've just bought tubular wheels and really appreciate this video. Do you still think this way?
thx for a great video! You as an expert how do you determine what size of tubular you cant fit in the frame. Older frames with rim brake has an limit of sizes. can you measure it or is it trail and error (kind of hard to buy different sizes and return once you tried)?
Without being disrespectfull 2wards u l just watched a pro peleton bike mechanic 4 one of the top tier TdeF teams glue up a tubular rim & tire . His gluing & the way he put the tubular on the rim was outstanding. He took one shot at it & it was spot on 1st ⏰⏰ . I agree with u on tubeless technology, its bloody rubbish . My tubulars need the glue removed . A big job 2 do properly without damaging the carbon & rims . And l will be going to the tape as u have suggested. Mind u removing the glue has been on the drawing board 4 almost 12 months . And yes tubulars r faster every day of the week & ride so much better . Have just put a deposit on Roval Alphinist 32 clx climbing wheels . They r not cheap . Doubt that they will climb as well as my clx 40's tubulars . Only ⏰⏰ will tell. Thx 4 ur video clip . Nice work .
Tufo's rim tape is the SHIT!!! It has this thick vibration dampening-ish layer in the middle, and the road feel compared to glues is just MUAH!!!!
Never ever use Tufo tape for different brands than just Tufo tyres!!!
wich tape would you recomend
I am stretching some continental sprinters on rims now and would like to try the tape. Could I try enough for two wheels?
Great video from Caden Carbon Bike Wheels and I've been using tubular tires for the past 18mths with great results. Applying some sealant from the get go is key as it enables the tubular tire to self-heal on the fly in the event of a puncture. I've recently changed the sealant to Orange Seal (Endurance) as it apparently lasts longer i.e. stays in liquid form longer and have not yet had a puncture.....or any that I've know about. I'm now interested in trying your 3M tape as adhesive and will email you.
where can i get this tape?
awesome video man
I have seen glueing the rim tape itself...Is that a different technique? They (in another video) were saying it is used for cyclo cross bicycles. My problem is that I think my rim tape slips under the tube once mounted. Is it because my rim tape width is too small perhaps? Or not glued or what else? Thanks,
Hi ,love you video nice job ,I never used the tape before , I leave in the uk can you send me some please love to try it Regards Nadir cheers
Can I try it on my Campagnolo nucleon?
Though I have glue before, after watching the video, I think this is a better and faster process.
I’m from the Philippines. Can I ask Not for a roll but just enough to mount 4 tires. Thank you.
Great video, very helpful! Thanks for the detail and advice!!
I bought some new tubular tires for my carbon rims. the old tires were glued on and I'm going to use rim tape to mount the new tubs. I removed as much of the glue as I can, but there's still bits of glue that I sort of gave up on. Is it paramount to remove every bit of glue before applying the tape?
Question: Do you fill your Tubulars with silicon milk or with air only? I don't want to deal with that milk stuff in my tire.
Think I may buy a set of your tubulars one day soon! What I would like to know is where can I find the 3M adhesive tape. Also would like to know your opinion on Mariposa Carogna. Is the 3M sold under a different name as I can’t seem to find it. Thank you for your great videos!
Which tape refference do you recomend? ...I want to try next wheel chage ....Thanks
Could I try some?
Where can we find this tape in the USA? For vintage wheel
Hey man I have a bike I would love to try your tape on. It’s a restored 81 model team miyata race bike 🤙🏽
Do you know what Caden tape for one wheel weighs?
9 grams
What do you Think about putting Tubeless fluid inside a tubelar tyre to awoid flats?
That s a good question did you find an answer?
Glue has better heat resistance during breaking...
Tubs are the future.
Is that sarcasm I detect?
They are the actually the past, present and future.
are those double sided tapes you're using?
Can you use tape while there's still some glue on the carbon rim? Or does it lowers the strength and reliability of the tape?
Remove it with effecto Mariposa.
what tape is he using?
Good video
hi there,
may i know where i can get it from hong kong, or a website where i could easily order and ship, thank you
simon
Hey mate, excellent video, where are you based? I wouldn't mind checking out a set of your wheels as I'm looking for a nice set of tubs not necessarily a big brand so I'm keen for local in oz
Hi +Karl Roszko thank you. We are based in Sydney. You can check out our product on www.carbonbikewheels.com.au or you can call 7 Days to 0424 440 443.
I'd like to try these tape. Do you ship the tape to NY USA?
Hi please email ride@carbonbikewheels.com.au with your request. Thank you!
CADEN Carbon Bike Wheels i bought a ridley with 100mm carbons and it came with the tubular wheels with out tape or glue .. this is my first racer and dont know where to start o can email a pic to show u i would love some tape .. i will send u a pic of what i have
One other comment I would make is the inference you make between "old" technology and inferior quality or design. Unfortunately the bike industry has suffered more than most in this area where lots of new tech is lauded as better when there is absolutely no evidence to that effect, in fact quite the opposite is often true - but that is beyond the scope of this video.
Where can I get that type of tape in US?
Hi please email ride@carbonbikewheels.com.au with your request. Thank you!
I'm afraid you're totally wrong about gluing on tubulars apart from the fact that it seems to deter some people who do not know better. I have been doing it for over 40 years and there are no such problems regarding flat spots, adhesion and truing the tyres. I think it depends on one's methods. Having said that, I have a roll of your tape and a new set of your wheels and will definitely give the tape a go. In relation to putting on a tyre after a flat on the road, it is easier and quicker but yes you should ride with a bit more caution until you refit it properly. And unless you have a team car with a wheel replacement you aren't winning the race anyway after that - so there is no advantage to any system really. I would only recommend Continental Competition Tubs BTW, in my extensive experience they almost always wear completely out before ever puncturing and their performance and ride quality are second to none!
Can I get some tape I can't pay to get my tires glued.
I've emailed that email address and it's not working
Hi please email ride@carbonbikewheels.com.au with your request. Thank you!
I've just bought my first tubs, Campy Bora One 50's, and I'm not entirely which way to go, tape or glue. Out of interest, what about when you want to remove the tape? Is it a stubborn, sticky mess that wants to pull carbon away from the rim?
Chris James im using tape. No issues no mess.
Only need to really be using glue when racing as a safe guard since your really throwing the wheels around corners. For everyday riding tape is perfectly suitable
hello sir i do have tubular wheels i will like to try the tape
Hi Octavio, please email ride@carbonbikewheels.com.au, thank you!
Nope. Do pros use tape or glue? Glue. Way more secure. Have been gluing my own for years and would trust no one else to do it. Use tape at your own risk: wrecked wheel and maybe wrecked body.
Surely they wouldn't be able to sell it if it wasn't safe? Plus only see positive reviews online!
Glue.
This didn’t age well
What happened?
@@shannontrainer5857 tubeless is soon becoming the dominate type of wheel even in the pros
Got any rolls left ? 🥲
