Marvel's Daredevil - Hallway Fight 60fps FI - sub ESP

- The first jaw-dropping brawl between Daredevil and the Russian mob. The most remarkable aspect of this scene is that it's a oner and that it seems to be a tribute to action classics such as 'Old Boy'. Overall, an amazing adaptation from Netflix and Marvel.
Make sure to watch it at least on 720p quality as it is rendered with SVP frame interpolation to achieve 60fps. Due to this, there are some minor graphical glitches.
This is my educational attempt in order to make the 60fps format more popular, which in my opinion works great in a lot of media.
I subtitled it in rioplatense Spanish, I hope you like it.

The last bit of this scene is easily one of the most powerful scenes ever. When he takes off his mask for the boy to show that he's there to help is so subtly beautiful.
Yes, I agree. Daredevil is an amazing superhero who is also an amazing human being.
2y
I totally agree.. The emotion from him taking the time to calm the boy down, then add in the music and it's incredibly powerful.
Justus the Deepthroat Ikr
I never quite got what happened behind that door. Was the boy simply captured? I got the feeling he got abused. Does anyone know?
Hallways. Daredevil's most deadly weapon.
Hallways and nurses are Daredevil's power-ups like shrooms are to fat, turtle hating plumbers. Attacking him inside a hospital was the most dire mistake made in the entire history of the Hand.
I was gonna say Microwaves but yeah, you're right.
@@USmarinePunk
You cant throw a hallway, and Matt is generally reluctant to use nurses as projectiles... so youre not exactly wrong.
It's a tight space and Daredevil excells in close quarters. Being close to his opponent is his biggest strength, which is why he has a hard time with Dex.
Dex is a long range fighter. Matt can't do much at range.
Not true.
The Avengers should have lured thanos into the hallway with daredevil.

Should've tricked him into doing spotting for Wilson Fisk while he lifted.
Daredevil: "I do not kill people."

He got up thou lol
"some poor bastard"?!? The guy was assisting in the kidnapping of a young child, and probably helping his organisation to put the squeeze on the father so he'd do sometning evil like kill his partner or steal all the money from his company. THINK before opening mouth.

Absolutely Hilarious. Banger joke dude
In any normal Hollywood fight scene, it would be *over* at 2:47.
This shit is amazing. A hero that has a visibly limited amount of stamina,
bad guys that aren't out cold after one punch, and a one-shot camera technique!!
This is above and beyond!!! *This is the best*
Cameron Cutler you have earned a like from me
@Blue BoomPony Matthew Murdock doesn't have a super soldier serum. He solely relies on his enhanced senses which is indeed a superhuman ability in itself.
Kingsman
it was nothing close to realistic or "the best", this is heavily based on an scene from Oldboy (2003 - korean) that is realistic as hell and of course, better
@@NickCTorres The Oldboy scene *definitely* is not realistic (altough is awesome)
I think the best part is how much realism is in it. Daredevil isn't just freeflowing all the time, the fights have a kind of rhythm to them that goes from severe violence to taking a momentary breather to having a few moments of just recovery time for everybody involved. Best part is that after he takes them all down, he moves up his mask so he doesn't frighten the kid, and still manages to be a person instead of a superhero for that one moment. This whole show is just awesome.
This is realistic? Not even close. It attempts but comes off as forced and campy. Maybe that's what they were aiming for?
Explain yourself. It was close to being realistic (it can't be too much realistic, because we are still talking about comic book TV show).
There is little realism to any of these fight scenes, lol.
compared to all the movies that come out now a days, this does have realism to it because he's stopping to take breathers, getting slower as he gets more tired and throws more and more weak punches. He also stumbles quite a bit. He meant it's realistic in that sense, obviously you can't do a full out realistic thing, no one is going to take on that many guys alone, like c'mon. It's not like in main stream action movies where they go on forever and don't even break a sweat or are tired.
CinemaBiohazard it's all one shot and shows that even though he is OP he is vulnerable
This is even more amazing in contrast to the story when you remember how beat up Matt was before doing this fight.
He got beyond a beat down
Beat up AND stabbed. This show is amazing.
Exactly, I didn't think anyone else would pick up on that. Half dead, contusions, broken ribs, AND blind (sorta), and still manages to kick more ass than most heroes (Iron Fist)
And ladies and gentlemen this is how a hero should be............Human and keeping his cool.

This last seconds made me ultimately fall in love with the character, Batman is cool and all but he would not taken off his cowl to comfort the kid, such a human thing to do, amazing
Doesn't make sense for Bruce to take off his cowl, he is well known as opposed to Matt Murdock and that would ultimately do more harm than good
@@lonewalkerproductions that might be why he likes the scene
Batman would still try to comfort the kid by sitting down and talking to them. He isn’t an emotionless being like the movies and the games have made him to be.
You don't know batman lol
Bruce deeply cares for kids. Remember when he refused to kill Ace and sat with her until she died?
I think my favorite part is when he knocks the last guy out and just falls down. showing how a real fight would probably end.
When he lifts his mask to face the kid, I cried. We didn't deserve this masterpiece and nothing compares to it.
Are you concerned how disney+ will alter it? That and punisher?
@@Wildspyre Oh god I just realized how badly Disney will ruin Punisher, first Fisk and now him
Same. Absolutely perfect and brought me to tears.
@@ComradeLavender good to see other back on this video after derdevil came back
@@Wildspyre Oh, Disney is so gunna fuck it up. and it depresses me a little.
This is why Matt Murdock is my favorite superhero. He went through absolute hell to save one little boy. Heroism at it’s finest.
I teared up a bit when he was carrying the little boy to return him back to his dad. A man who fights the bad guys, to bring kindness to a child 😢
The fact he's panting to catch his breath, while carrying the kid. Stumbles a little, shows how exhausted he is. But he will not give up. And he knows what he's fighting for. Because he lost his Dad to a criminal. He will do what he can to make sure the kid doesn't suffer.
I just realized that at 4:26, when Daredevil rolls into the room, they probably switched out the stunt actor for the actor who plays Matt. Now that's smart film making.
yo didnt realise lol
Yeah, I realized he got up pretty fast for an exhausted man who just tripped
Suddenly everyone is a film production expert, as if they knew
@@r.jguerra5526 i mean, I took a filmmaking class in high school and i have half a brain so... You know.
@@bondfall0072 I meant the comments
That small interaction that kid had with Daredevil changed his life forever. That was the moment he became a hero. It's not enough to just punish evil and criminals, you have to inspire others. To fight through apathy and look past your own suffering, to have the will and strength to help others.
What I loved about this show is that it managed to make the street level stuff actually matter. When watching this episode I felt just as concerned for Matt being able to rescue that little boy as I am for when the Avengers are stopping Thanos
Tbh, I felt way more concerned here than I did with the Avengers. This is just so much more real, even the fighting, choreography I find more compelling, intense, badass. Great show.

So did he.
@@RetroGamer7200 no he got back up
RetroGamer7200 Nah Daredevil doesn’t kill people and yeah like the guy above me said, he got back up. I know these things don’t seem believable but this is a work of fiction where you gotta suspend disbelief in order to accept the story and his character.
I think he's the one that stole the apple if u pay attention to his clothing.
Rest in peace Christian charles. Good job on summugling your computer up to heaven.
Love that he doesnt make any declarations that he's here to save the boy. Just runs in and starts throwing hands to capitalize on his element of surprise
This scene never gets old
iamsherlocked345
Agreed
It never will...
I absolutely the first 90 seconds of this where they show us the layout and each guy walking room to room showing us where the enemies are. It’s like they are portraying how Daredevil sees all of this just through the sounds they are making.... then he enters ready to kick ass. Amazing scene!
The fact that he had his hands on the door and then stoped and took his mask off so the kid wouldn’t be scared is just brilliant writing!
Never fight Daredevil in a Hallway....EVER...I've seen what he can do.
4:42, Taking off the mask to not scare the little boy and telling him he doesn’t have to be afraid anymore is such a powerful moment
Such a well done scene. View it lazily and you don't realize how well done it it is. Watch it with an attentive eye and you get a sense of what a complex, artfully choreographed and beautifully staged action sequence this is. We're so lucky to have this level of quality on television.
Marc Hills it really is a quality scene that's perfectly created
It's amazing how it only took two components to make this fight stand out among other ones in the superhero genre:
The hero has *limited stamina* and you see Daredevil get progressively more tired as the standoff goes on, even outright collapsing at the end.
The bad guys don't go down like bowling pins after one magical hit. They keep getting back up and attacking until they are _forced_ to stay down after getting beaten several times.
2:27 Damn son!
That guy got pwned by the microwave.
he had it set to popcorn and his ass got popped!
I could watch that part again and again and again!
Even if you watch this scene with no context not knowing Daredevil it still works. You see his fighting ability, you know what his goal is and you get a glimpse of his character by what he does at the end by letting a frightened child see his real face.
This could be the best fight scene that I have seen so far this year. Beautifully shot and expertly choreographed.
+Mike Honcho if you like this one try the fight scene in "Ong Bak" and the best one for me in "Oldboy" (the original korean version).
Giordanno Bruno
I have seen both. This seen is heavily inspired by the Oldboy fight.
+Mike Honcho
Original Old Boy is incredible, and the filmmakers have admitted that the hammer hallway scene was a direct inspiration for this. In fact, I may try to convert to 60fps that scene in the future.
+Mike Honcho What makes it even more incredible is that he's navigating by sound, touch, and smell. This would be hard for even a sighted, fully healed person to pull off!
Daredevil struggled with his first suit. His new one offers him more protection, flexibility and batons he'll do something like that a lot easier
"Come on Matty... Get to work."
I am touched by the fact that he risks his own well-being and tries so hard just to save one boy.
When I first saw this episode, I had just attended a class in which I learned about continuous shots, and how it has become an unspoken competition between directors to make the best or longest one-take uninterrupted shots. This may not be the longest, but it is the best example of good cinematography that I have ever seen, and I absolutely love it!
eh..., no it isn't if you liked this, you want the original, Oldboy (2003) corridor's scene
@@NickCTorres There is also the gunfight equivalent in Hard Boiled's hospital scene you can watch.
There are a couple cuts in this scene, but they’re hidden pretty well with the camera movement. Like shooting the wall, then emerging with a different perspective. They mask the cut with the footage of the wall. It’s dark, so we can’t see where the cut is. An extremely clever and seamless filmmaking technique. I love this kind of stuff.
@@LeeONardo Yeah the single shot in Hardboiled is a great one. Plus it has the added wrinkle it's a John Woo gunfight so there's tons of squibs and pyrotechnics that go off. Chow Yun Fat's shotgun is basically an assault cannon that blows apart whole chunks of hospital corridor and furniture with every shot. Plus the two bro cop protagonists manage to work in talking about their feelings part way through the shot in classic Hong Kong cinema style. ;)
Definitely not the longest. That probably goes to Wells or Tarantino.
Amazing scene. probably the best scene I have ever seen. I love how they kept the shot only in the hallway, and how you only hear the fight in the rooms. The switch with the stunt double is not noticed at all. It's great.
I also really love how he actually tired, and it shows that his wounds are effecting him. sloppy punches and all.
This scene had no stunt double
@@johnspain2556 Yes it did.
this is a rip off from the corridor scene from Oldboy (2003), wich is clearly superior on every aspect
You should check out the one shots from Children of Men and Oldboy if you like those
His emotional at the end when saving that boy is seriously powerful.
Also the fact that he was badly hurt before this and still managed to kick their ass. JUST WOW! Matt Murdock is brilliant 😍 (so is Frank Castle I love them both).
The best bit by far was when he brained that one guy with a microwave.
The thing I like the most about this scene is the use of thrown projectiles as weapons - it's a fundamental of self-defense that most instructors will teach you in the first or second lesson but it's so important. An ordinary can of soup, an ashtray, a petty cash tin, the doorstop... literally anything you can get your hands on that has a bit of heft is good fodder for nailing someone in the face and then running for the door.
...You may not look like Daredevil but I guarantee you'll come out better than the other guy.
This is one of the best fight scenes I've ever watched. No shaky cam, no rapid 1/2 second camera swaps and no unrealistic moves. Just a brutal brawl that flowed smoothly and a hero who appeared to tire and feel every slap he took. Brilliantly done.
Everyone's pointed this out, and rightfully so, but God I just love the little detail of Matt lifting up his mask before reassuring the little boy he's there to help. I like to think as soon as Matt approached the door he sensed the boy's rapid heart beat and breathing before deciding to lift up his mask to avoid scaring him. Matt really is up there with Spidey in terms of being the most genuine, human heroes.
Marvel made me like Daredevil more than Batman. How!?

There are so many lessons here. I've learned quite a bit since I started reading Daredevil in 1980. In this case, the message I see is, "You may never know what it took to keep you safe, healthy, or to rescue you." You just know you are safe, free, etc. People make real sacrifices on behalf of others everyday. We need to pay better attention and not take things for granted.
I want to see Daredevil take on Kilgrave. Daredevil, according to the Marvel wiki, is "The Man Without Fear". His rigorous psychological training allows him an incredible resistance to fear-inducing chemicals and spells. I reckon that astounding discipline would also prevent things like mind control. I want to see him slowly approach a cocky Kilgrave after ruthlessly beating up Kilgrave's goons, and then Kilgrave orders him to kill himself. Daredevil stops, cocks his head, and makes a few light jokes about how Kilgrave can't touch him. The fear in Kilgrave's eyes would be priceless!
+CountryMusicMann It certainly helps that Purple Man was one of Daredevil's earliest foes, so its very possible we could see him end up facing off against Kilgrave at some point down the line!
***** Have you seen the final episode of Jessica Jones?
I JUST WATCHED IT. NEVER MIND. SPOILERS.

Jessica Jones should have let Clair introduce her to Daredevil. Clair offered that but stubborn Jessica said no. That would have been awesome to see in the final episode of Jessica Jones.

Honestly as someone who considers themself a connoisuer of martial arts cinema, and is also quite snobby about it. This is one of my top 10 fight scenes. The camera work, the choreography, the totally visceral action of this scene, unbelievable. The folks behind this should be very proud of themselves, the marvel netflox series' gave us some fantastic fights but this is the pinnacle

You know a superhero is really ghetto when he uses household appliances to attack the crooks.
And I love the way they used the broken door as a an environmental prop to the fight. Honestly so original.

Then blame it on poor script or direction not that the material is taken serious cause all that does is take us back to "Batman and Robin"
Daredevil season 1 is soo fucking good because scenes like this where there's such a rich sense of realism. These bad guys dont stay down and Murdock actually tires. Season 2 and 3 for me never quite could recapture this effect as they feel more CBM related but still good
Season 1 was great, season 2 was better and Season 3 starts off rocky but it gets better.
Honestly I think Season 3 really showed Daredevil at his most vulnerable. For the first time Matt was helpless. He couldn't hear out of his right ear and for someone who relies heavily on their senses, especially their hearing to navigate the world this is a big deal. Because he can't hear things as well, coupled with his blindless he can't navigate as well and they showed that when Matt hits rock bottom but he gets up and keeps going.
there's that stairwell fight in season two which had a similar feel to this, I think. The mood of season 2 is a bit different tho, everything seems far more heightened and comic-book (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but can be)
Significantly better than season 2's "one shot" fight. This one has way better cause, effect, resolution and can easily be an awesome short film on it's own.
One of history's greatest scenes. Absolutely perfect.
The sheer lack of camera cuts alone makes this fight awesome, not to mention everything else it has going for it
THE best hand-to-hand fight scene in the MCU. It’s so raw.
Ben Affleck Disliked This Video.
Goddamn 47 They’re talking about Affleck’s version of Daredevil. AKA one of the reasons why so many people didn’t want him to play Batman.
@Goddamn 47 um with season 3 level daredevil with his suit........ good luck with that bats.
@@hidan407 he means Affleck as daredevil. Not batman. And Matt downgraded hugely after s3, his fighting is less detailed and more just punching hard in the face. It's nowhere near as acrobatic anymore and just boxing tbh.
O k they made his fighting decrease for a reason doe
@@Ok-eg8dg he did, just bc it would be unrealistic for him to do martial arts-oriented moves since he had a whole building collapse on himself, thus him limiting himself to just flat-out brawler/boxer style and just giving efficient punches instead of spinning kicks, etc. to conserve his recuperating body's energy
The best types of heroes are the ones who go through tragedy but instead of anguishing in the pain makes the decision to make sure no one ever feels the pain they went through
those last few seconds are truly powerful and amazing stuff, with the music.
One thing I adore about this series is that the hero gets hurt. Not in a sadistic way. It just makes every fight feel more serious and like there are real consequences to every fight. He's reeling and panting and you know he's gotta feel like shit....but that is why it means something to us, the audience, when he grits his teeth and keeps going
Best fight scene (in American filmmaking history)

4:49
I think this is what makes this scene, this entire show even. Yes it’s mainly the action and the choreography but with this scene it shows something that not a lot of shows like it does. It shows the other side of super heroing. The humanity.
Here he’s just a man in a mask comforting a boy that had nothing to do with the situation but was kidnapped anyway. It actually shows him helping members of the city he’s trying to protect after beating up criminals and without being a lawyer.
He’s just comforting and helping out a scared child, it shows the whole reason why he’s inspiring to civilians yet terrifying to criminals in one perfect scene.
It shows the good side of the mask he puts on, the good man behind the vigilante, the human behind the devil.
I can’t believe I missed a particular detail at the end of this scene that just clicked for on my latest rewatch of this scene.
When the Russian dude hands the boy food, the boy says to him that he’s scared and he wants to go home.
For any regular human who was in Matt’s place, that would have been vastly out of earshot.
But not Matt. Matt heard the boy say that from across the entire building.
And after all that fighting, he takes his mask off, walks in the room, and tells the boy exactly what he needs to hear to comfort him, “I know you’re scared. You don’t have to be scared any more.”
Matt knew exactly what was needed to say to the boy before the fight even started.
That’s a fucking *phenomenal* indirect way to show just how powerful Matt’s hearing really is.
This is amazing, love the recovery time, breathing and staggering. All to save 1 kid, not some end of the world BS. Impressive
What Batman should have been....

Yeah, this reminded me of Old Boy too. I love this single shot. I love when he falls through the door. This is one of my all time favorite fight scenes.
Daredevil and Batman are the most badass superheroes. No fucks given, no time for jokes, no coward weapons (guns) just go in and beat the shit out of scumbags with your bare hands.
Have you ever seen this kind of badass shit before!
DD does use guns though.
Even though he isnt preferential towards them, he has no qualms about grabbing a gun in a fist fight... or a sword, or a mailbox, or a sledgehammer, or pushing the other guy into oncoming traffic or off a roof etc.
I'd say that for an anti-hero with rather high morals, he does know how to get creative in a fight.
Batman Vs Daredevil!
Now that fight would be 10 times better than Batman Vs Superman.
Daredevil is a little more similar to Nightwing, being an acrobat and all in the comics. Nightwing uses escrima sticks while Daredevil uses his billyclubs, that resemble escrima sticks. I think Batman has the edge over him, he's at peak human conditioning and knows pretty much every martial art known to man, and he's got an insane level of plot armor, oh I mean gadgets (I love Batman just joking around). I'm not saying that Daredevil isn't proficient when it comes to martial arts, but he's gotten his butt kicked by people that are around Iron Fist's level like Ikari. I think a Batman vs Captain America fight would be a little more interesting. But still, Daredevil and Batman are both amazing heroes.
One advantage daredevil would have over Batman is that his senses would render all of Batman's stealth and fear tactics useless which is a big part of his style
I love this scene. Only after this fight, I found this is not usual superhero show.
One of my most favourites Shows ever
Outstanding.. Daredevil - S2 Trailer has already left us promised we'll be bound to see more incredible scenes such as this..
Words not enough to say how powerful this scene
A Daredevil game needs to be made. Ass kicking, parkour, and extremely low graphics requirements.
Well Daredevil game can be very hard to make. It's very tough to know what people would like would you play as a blind hero and 'see' everything in kinda sound waves instead of real vision or you would like it 3rd person with proper vision but that would just end up like being an Arkham game.
IKR we just can’t have 1st person, or maybe really zoomed in beside the head instead. It’ll still be a bit more like 1st person maybe.
@@theemostutterqueenp4253 it can't be made. He doesn't have enough things to keep him as a playable character interesting. Parkour is done by assassins creed, he doesn't have anything unique there. He only has 1 gadget. He can fight. That's about it. It's not batman or Spiderman
@@Ok-eg8dg
If the development team was to be well imaginative with how to make use of his senses, it could be very interesting.
Tracking targets by scent, eaves dropping on them from across the block, using cardio-electrical perception and body heat to predict the movements of opponents...
having 360 degree, 3D perception to play with could offer a lot of possibilities, rather than with a character who relies on line-of-sight.
The Alien campaign in the -99 AVP game comes to mind.
The combat mechanics would be really difficult to carry across though. This since Daredevil is a very 'whatever seems suitable at the moment' type of adaptive fighter.
Mixing a fluid blend of boxing, spin kicks, grappling, stick work, parkour, sword work, knives, riccochet thrown projectiles, whacking people over the head with furniture, using guns etc... AND body reading... Into a composite fighting style in a game is probably next to impossible to do accurately.
But if the main focus was placed on that, and on using his senses in creative ways, i think it could make for an interesting game.
@@Wavemaninawe yeah I changed since my comment 10 months ago. An assassins creed style daredevil game would be perfect. Eagle vision is just his focusing. The only problem is how to get around. He can only manoeuvre by running, he cant drive.
And combat can just be anything really, if its comic DD, then just acrobatic combat. Like nightwing in Arkham knight
