Very, very useful. Very important issue is that for non native English speakers your English is nearly 100% understandable. Thank you so much for this. We are saying here you pronounce using only uppercase letters :)

I'm building my own machine atm and I've never used a cnc router before, but as soon as it's finished I'm subscribing to Maker. I was having nightmares thinking how would I? Awesome software and simple to understand video, I'm hooked :D

So i have both vetric and carveco
I love both of them but as far as photo v car goes vetric is far superior because of its toolpath is different than carvco.
You can make a very clear 60° bit tool path if you bring up your contrast and do some photo manipulating you will be able to carve just as clear as a 30° bit from my own observations. I watch guys take a 90° 3/4" bit and do better than a 60° bit. It really all comes down to your pre sets.
My favorite settings for a 60°
Depends on the pic but my starting settings would be .07 step over and .06 to .055
Carvco 28°, seems like it's always the best
Vetric i spend more time on finding my angle than my presets.
I have one photo that will barely touch
And carve another image it'll be a deep cut. Contrast and lighting on these photos are so important I'm sure youve seen this. In ventric i bounce back and forth to the photo edit between toolpath previews then reset and change my contrast and my other settings just a little bit up or down darken lighten change the gamma. You know I know we don't all have a lot of time to do this stuff but I'll spend two or three hours on changing my photo settings between each toolpath because you can get your clarity with that 60° bit that is so awesome and clear.
The other day I took a photo of a bee working a dandelion and I fine tuned it so you could see the wings on that be on top of that dandelion in my carve. Bluring the background of whatever your im is just a lil bit will bring huge vibrancy into your carves.

I know that this video is quite old but my I suggest in the future that you provide your source materials? In this case the image you used so that we can fallow along with you as you go. I am watching all the videos on the channels so you may have already done this in future videos but if not I thought it might help others in later videos.

No worries! We definitely have some other customers with a Mega V, so you'd be in good company! I'd recommend joining our users group on Facebook for an impartial opinion on our software. Hopefully it'll help you out :-)

Super cool video!! I learned a ton of tricks.
Can you do a video on stacked text.... where say a couple's first names are over their last names on a sign. I do a lot of those projects and would like to do them with Maker Plus.

This is a great video as are the other carveco maker videos. Can you tell me how I could do a similar carving but I don't want the image to cover the whole of the workpiece. E.g. I have a 300mm x 180mm piece of wood but only want the image to cover one half of the wood. I then want to carve some text on the other half. Do I need to treat it as two separate projects?

Hello. Great stuff. I'm a newbie, especially to this software, and watching these videos have given me a great tutorial.
I am noticing that my cut is cutting air on the first path or so. I export the toolpaths from Carveco and run it through Candle to my 3018 Prover. I remember you had mentioned something about your cut cutting air on the first path or so (I don't remember if it was this video or another). I tried finding how you fixed it again but couldn't. Any suggestions?

Wish this video was updated. Trying to follow along and do the same thing and I have features he does not have or he has features the 2024 Carvco doesn't have. Its frustrating that all my carvings are coming out looking like crap. Think I just wasted $180 dollars on Carvco. Pffft I probably did.

You should be able to do exactly the same thing in a newer version of the software without any problems. Please reach out to our support team (support@carveco.com) and they will be able to guide you int he right direction.

@Carveco if you haven't noticed, check out his carvco and check out the new one. You can not follow him. For example, when he shows the 3D carved relief showing the tool path. I can not see the same. Plus, some of the little white drop-down arrows do not work. Also, when he clicks on the green circle with the green box. I dont have that option. My circle and green box are black. And it does nothing.
