I am interested in getting a bouvier puppy but I don’t live on a lot of land however I do live in Colorado and have a bunch of hikes to take one on. My aunt who trains agility terriers thinks I can’t manage one however I am in love with these dogs. Any input or advice?
Socialize and the puppy with people and other dogs early and often. Keep training sessions short and FUN several times a day. Be the Alpha, but don't hit or abuse, they remember!!!
One long walk and several short or backyard stuff, with the freedom for the dog to run for a short time is enough. Pick up after their droppings, Lotsa of love and they'll return it times 10. Oh and keep up with the combing and grooming.
I have had bouvs for 40 years. They are a family dog that loves attention. You have to be the boss though. They are smart. You must train them for the first 2 years .
The best friend ever, and often more calm and protecting us than we realize. But sleeping in a cage? That is just wrong. They need their comfy spot of their own, but a cage is disrespectful.
The video brought me smile, at first... (i had lived with 3 wonderful bouviers for more than the past 3 decades, but my disability now prevents me from raising and loving a 4th one)... So, initially i was glad to find a video about bouviers... i clearly recognized some of the typical behavior and gestures of them... But then: putting a bouvier in a CAGE ??? And what's with all those tricks ? Training for dog contests shows ? It just made me super sad to see a bouvier put in a cage; sure, to each their own, and master breeds and raises them the way they want, but i barely "trained" my 3 bouviers at all, except giving them love, care, affection and a true place among the family on daily basis, and they still were "trained" enough for my taste: fiearce and reliable guardians and protectors, and adorable companions...
@@raisaislam3637 maybe because i never claimed to "own" them, just that i had spent 33 years with 3 successives adorable bouviers, and they were not to own, but just members of family... I just said it made me sad to see one in cage. People do what they want, but i also have the right to feel sadness; i dont "hate" other dog breeders, i suppose there are practical reasons for the cage, i'm just not comfortable with it myself and i am glad that my houses/places of living always allowed me to not have to resort to it. Period. If that sounds ridiculous, then... well, i guess i feel no problem being a laughstock then.

We discovered you and your video. Best ever. Will watch again.
Such a clever girl! Reminds me of my family's first bouvier, Maggie. She was such an amazing dog. ^_^

Love my Bouv. Just don’t get a paw to the face. Bouts are not allowed to be in cages. They have to sleep on your bed with you.
I miss our big white Bouv so much.

Bouvs. are great on the trail, they'll stay close by and keep an eye on you, your family's personal overseer.

How can a person who claims to have been a dog owner possibly hate on another owner for training their dog? You sound ridiculous

So fast due to the power, not the lightness of their bodyweight
Hi I am really interested in adopting a bouvier puppy. Please provide your Breeders contact information.
Great dog, great video, but awful music.
