Thank you.
You're the real mvp
Out of the 3 Sinnoh starters, Torterra is my sister’s favorite and I know she’ll be using one once she gets Brilliant Diamond.
All 3 starters are great imo
@@rashmikalia1304 he just said "favourite" not "great"
Your sister has great taste
My first Sinnoh journey was Platinum. I chose Empoleon, not knowing Sinnoh lacks fire. Still stan the penguin, but oof.
Platinum has quite a few fire type options. Infernape might be the most useful outnof them, but Houndoom is pretty badass as well.
Platinum was my first true Pokémon experience.
Platinum is still my favorite pokemon game
What type does fire cover that staraptor with close combat doesn’t cover?
@@reur3965 That’s actually the reason I’m not going to be using Staraptor when I play Shining Pearl.
What a missed opportunity for Torterra to have Shell Smash
I know right?
What a missed opportunity for Torterra to have both a Mega and shell smash
Atleast blastoise got it hope next Gen lol
When I played the remake I used torterra which I've never used, had trouble making a team I like since it's not as open as platinum. My team was, torterra, floatzal, luxray, bronzong, honchkrow, toxicroak.
Always happy to see another toxicroak user! I ended BD with torterra, toxicroak, bronzong, tyranitar, golduck, and togekiss. Since most of my team was slower then Cynthia's team, i taught trick room to bronzong. It helped out greatly.
There aren't any proper words that I could use to express my gratitude to you Mystic ! From the best team for black and white 2 to best teams and other content that you post on the channel. Solid and well thought out content is always present ; thank you for all the hard work you do and keep it up going into next year. (=
Best regards, Evan
P.S. - Houndoom's my favorite pokemon
This video was great. You know what would be really cool? A best team with all 3 starters. That would be interesting to see how that would work.
But you can't get all three starters yourself until post-game when they start appearing in the grand underground
Torterra (Slow, Bulky and Physical)
Infernape (Fast, Fragile and Mixed)
Empoleon (Mixed, Mixed and Special)
Emopleon is slow bulky and special
Infernape is mostly physical
@@ganeshsolanki8803 Empoleon isn't as slow and bulky as torterra and both of Infernape's attacking stats are the same
@@michaelkowal3230 empoleon is not slower than torterra but still slow
Infernape has a lot better physical movepool than special
And his ability also boost physical moves
@@ganeshsolanki8803 i just said empoleon isn't as slow as torterra, meaning empoleon is faster, and Infernape's base stats point towards a mixed attacker
Yoooo my boy torterra going strong, man I love its final evolution!
azumarill literally is duel typing with FAIRY, also gets huge power, it’s coverage is better than gyarados and hits harder from that ability by itself, would 100% recommended this for competitive and casually
I think maybe the main reason Gyarados was chosen was because you can get it far earlier than Azumarill.
I ll also recommend that
@@BmanTheChamp tru but azumarill is busted. I have one with huge power it’s pretty op.
Does azumarill get like really good moves or something? Because even with huge power it’s still 25 less than gyrados
@@ineedmoresleep3728
Not how it works. There's a reason Light Ball Pikachu ends up hitting harder than Rayquaza.
That was a nice and fresh opening Mystic!!
The issue with finding the Dark Pulse TM in the Underground is that the Large Sphere Traders that would sell it won't have a chance for it to be in stock until you get the Beacon Badge, aka, the 8th gym badge. You'd honestly be better off getting it in Victory Road.
I’m so glad to see Torterra getting some recognition, I love him to bits
Gen 4 had the best starters imo, I always struggle to chose one, they are all so amazing
True....
Gen 3:
@@gamepixel5904 gen 3 starters are nice but gen 4 has the best all rounded starters you're not really handicapped if you pick one over the other because they all do good in game. Gen 3 starters though swampert is the best by far over the other 2 blaziken is okay but swampert just does so much better than it in game and sceptile is.... yeah especially if you're doing ruby/omega ruby and dealing with team magma's fire types
I love Infernape and Torterra, but dislike Empoleon.
Gen 4 starters where ass 🗑️
I love grass typew happy to see a guide with Torterra thank you 😊
Well done, good buddy. Fun stuff, and plenty of healthy tanks.
I basically use your teams now when playing Pokémon games. I always get over whelmed when playing through and choosing what Pokémon I want as I always come across some new Pokémon that I like and want and try to add it to my team essentially making it lopsided on a leveling perspective. It’s so much easier to know what Pokémon you plan to get and stick with that. And the good thing about the teams you did for PLA is I was able to do them all!
I think that togekiss can replace celfable because it can help other Pokémon’s weakness type. If running a moveset of dazzling gleam, flamethrower, air slash, and auras sphere, you provide so much coverage for not only togekiss, but with also the entire team.
Two flying types can be a bit wonky though
I really like my team in Shining Pearl being: Torterra, Crobat, Gallade, Mismagius, Clefable, and Milotic.
That's a really cool team woah
You definitely should be proud of it, tbh
Nice team
did it do good not having a fire type? i want to have a flyer so im thinking of using crobat instead of gyrados but then i could really use a water type
Ugh I love Crobat but it doesn’t get acrobatics in these games
Was waitin’ for this 😉
Torterra has a special place in my heart. Platinum was the first pokemon game I played and I chose turtwig as my starter.
This is the video I needed. Already beat the game and post game....Clefable is really good had one on my team
Again with the Snorlax...it's a good Pokemon don't get me wrong, but it's almost on every best team that has Snorlax in the pokedex.
Snorlax is great but I can't stand the lack of speed that Mystic is usually so obsessed with lol
I don't mind Mystic always picking Snorlax, however I'm just glad he finally got rid of Staraptor
Finally! The best sinnoh starter 🤙
I love how Gary keeps getting better, waterfall at 21 and d dance at 36?!?
I’ve always loved infernape from sinnoh, but I’ve always had a soft spot for the grass types also. My favourite being bulbasaur, also love this dude as well!
Been waiting for this! I chose Torterra since I never used one and I still haven't beat the game yet I could not get a good team together to work with it lol
Torterra: Becomes good.
MysticUmbreon: *Impossible*
I think either Crobat, or Bronzong and or both go well on a Torterra team. Crobat has access to tailwind which can greatly help its speed. If you want you can give Torterra rock polish to go along with the tailwind that crobat sets up. Brongzong would go well in a team with it can set up trick room, which would complement its curse. In double battles Bronzong can ally swicth and resist ice moves for terra, have a levitate Zong so Terra can freely quake and trick room like I said goes nice with Terras curse
I feel like using Houndoom in the Torterra team once again makes the choice to say Houndoom is one of the most overrated BDSP mons even more baffling. It is obviously an extremely helpful mon to have on a play through if you do not pick Chimchar.
Exactly. It’s either houndoom or rapidash. And obviously you’re gonna choose the latter.
@@RuikasaCEO You can also get Magmortar in Shining Pearl. And you can trade a Magby to Brilliant Diamond to get a Magmortar.
I got Magmar but having a hard time getting Magmortar.
I don’t get the urgency to get a fire type pokemon in this game. Fire is good against steel, ice, bug and grass. So any fighting or flying pokemon can be as good as a fire type. Heck, I used medicham with firepunch and I didn’t even had to use that move that often!
I wonder why houndoom over magmortar
My planned Torterra team also features Houndoom. I'm also considering either Gallade or Gardevoir. The other three Pokémon I plan to have however are the gift egg Manaphy, Scizor and Electivire.
I recently came up with this thought, "What is the best team if you have all the starters together?"
It's more like you choose one and bring over the other two from trading and use all three in the same game
I want to try that in my ultra sun game but first I need to make sure I do it right
Clefable can learn Stored Power, use it with Calm Mind or Boosting Battle items (X Defense, X Speed, etc) and obliterate the Elite four and Cynthia if it seems impossible with your current team and if you don’t want to over level too much.
For shimming pearl I used. Torterra, Floatzel, Magnezone, Mismagius, Blissey and Crobat. It was really fun
In Brilliant Diamond I used Empoleon, Raichu, Gardevoir, Mamoswine, Houndoom, and Crobat.
Wow. That team I never thought of. I think it's good
Amazing video 👍👍👍🙂
finally some Gallade love, thank you
I created my own team for bdsp a few weeks ago which was strikingly similar, Torterra, Gallade, Gyarados, Magnezone, Togekiss, and Houndoon.
Oh I was waiting for this! :D
#TeamTorterra
My SP team with Torterra was:
1. Torterra (Yggdrasil) with: Earthquake, Crunch, Giga Drain & Rock Tomb.
2. Pachirisu (Ghost) with: Thunder, Thunderbolt, Swift & Thunder Wave.
3. Altaria (Omega) with: Moonblast, Flamethrower, Fly & Icebeam.
4. Mismagius (Omen) with: Psychic, Dazzling Gleam, Hex & Dark Pulse.
5. Azumarill (Ariel) with: Superpower, Surf, Grassknot & Bounce.
6. Lopunny (Lola) with: Focus Punch, Drain Punch, Bounce & Payback.
Torterra, Drifblim, Floatzel, Houndoom, Clefable, and Bronzong here, with Drifblim being a minimize/baton pass utility switching into a Trick Room Bronzong. I wanted to pick a couple competitive strategies and apply them to my playthrough team just for fun :)
YAHOOO!!
MYSTIC LOVES TORTERRA 😍😍
great video for our turtle friend :)
My team through Brilliant Diamond was:
- Torterra
- Staraptor
- Drapion
- Medicham
- Azumarill
- Magnezone
It actually turned out to be a pretty decent team, with my Medicham two-shotting Cynthia's Garchomp with Ice Punch while at a lower than it (lucky freeze)...
Really? Huh. Well, even though I haven't beaten the game yet, my final squad for sure(For my Shining Pearl, since I got both) is:
- Torterra
- Houndoom
- Crobat
- Gyarados
- Gardevoir
- Magnezone
I was originally going to use Luxray, Staraptor, and maybe even the Gift Jirachi, but I decided I wanted a more type balanced team. Or in other words, I didn't want any type overlap. Yes, Gyarados and Crobat share the Flying type, but like, come on. Gyarados is really only ever going to use its Water type STAB.
i used the same but swapped drapion and medicham with gallade and houndoom
@@Tankdmps uhhh..totally unrelated...but I happened to catch a Adament Nature Sneasel a few weeks back...but I dunno if I should use it or not...yeah it would help with the infamous Garchomp...but...I don't know how useful it would be otherwise...
Mine was:
Infernape
Honchcrow
Roserade
Electabuzz
Gastrodon
Gliscor.
Torterras old level X Pokémon card was always my fav, I had a holo version of it as a kid
You can easily cover all of Torterra's weaknesses with a single Rock move. Preferably Stone Edge, cuz Rock Slide won't help with its flinches since Torterra's on the slower end.
Its finnally here
You only need 2 badges for Munchlax in the underground. Once you can get to Pastoria (is that the right one? Wakes town) and into the Marsh for defog you can get it
Who needs good stats and moveset when you have Quick Claw Earthquake Torterra. I rest my case.
Flying type Pokemon aren't real, they can't hurt you.
Torterra, is the best trick room sweeper ever. Combined with Dusclops and Cresselia, he's an absolute hammer.
10:17 the best elite 4 member. Flint the ground specialist
I don’t have the game yet but my mom said I’m gonna get it for Christmas, my team is going to hopefully be:
Torterra
Lucario
Bastiodon (I’m going to trade with my brother since I’m getting diamond and he’s getting pearl ik it’s not the best but it’s one of my favorites)
Luxray (going to hunt for a shiny)
Staraptor
Either snorlax or houndoom
Not bad, just be prepared to be possibly doing a lot of digging to get Shieldon and waiting a long time to use Lucario since you won't get it until you complete Iron Island around the 6th Gym.
Bastiodon is dope, needs more love
I would love to see a Sinnoh pokémon only team for each starter
At least he didnt insult my boy Torterra this time
For those looking for a moon stone go to Celestic town and head left to mount Coronet and before you go in put you switch time to 7:59 am and go in and use thief on the cleffa's for a 5% chance at a moon stone. I got mine after 7 minutes. FYI cleffa has an increased spawn chance in the morning and this is much faster than the underground.
My favorite Sinnoh Starter is Torterra, I just love the fact that you can just lie on its back and relax.
Had a bit of fun with transitions I see
I wanted to use some unique mons for my play-through, some of which I never used before:
Torterra
Pelipper
Houndoom
Scizor
Clefable
Toxicroak
Nice torttera team Mystic
I used this team. Had a lot of trouble with Lucian and Cynthia, but who doesn’t? Great job.
My Torterra team in Brilliant Diamond was the following:
Torterra
Floatzel
Bronzong
Honchkrow
Rampardos
Froslass
I enjoyed this team so much, I decided to use Trick Room on Bronzong, it helped me with the battle against Cynthia. After sweeped with Honchkrow having Nasty Plot against Spiritomb (and surprisingly Milotic!!!), I switched to Bronzong and set the slow room for the rest of the team to handle Cynthias rest of her team.
The hot n ready reference made me nearly choke on my dinner
Mystic, when you say “first accessible floor on Mt. Coronet” (for Cleffa), does that mean we can get Cleffa without needing to surf or anything?
I recently did my first Gen4 playthrough and picked Infernape. As much as I love him, I regret not picking Torterra. Definitely my favorite Sinnoh starter
Sinnoh was my first poke game and idc if tort was bad before his my fav and I had a connection with it at the start
hey mystic i was wondering if it was possible to replace one of torterras moves with a rock move like rock tomb (cause its earlier)
Mystic always loved Turtwig.
My team consists of
Torterra
Staraptor
Gastrodon
Drapion
Hondoom
and
Froslass
Nani? Mystic Compimenting Torterra? lol
I like the thumbnail torterra is like
Torterra;hello
I used three of the Mons on this list but I found the team I used has a little more type balance and versatility.
My team was: Torterra, Houndoom, Snorlax, Togekiss, Bronzong, and Gastrodon
Ok for my water type I plan to use octillery as it has tons of coverage and I can just smack a quick claw in case
I preferred Gastrodon for my water coverage to be honest. I'm also using Mew and Jirachi for coverage sorts.
If I were to make a Torterra team, I would use
Houndoom
Togekiss
Floatzel
Gengar
Gallade
Here's my Torterra team:
-Torterra (of course)
-Gastrodon
-Magmortar
-Magnezone
-Togekiss
-Gallade
Still working on movesets for some of them.
Danggg that’s really close to mine, However I’m doing Kingdra over Gastrodon and Lucario over Gallade but that’s still a really solid team
Mystic: I wish Infernape would get it too.
Me: Uh… yeah.
Seriously I was bummed when I found out my Infernape, Stanley didn’t get Drain Punch. I thought it did.
For brilliant diamond in the end my league team ended up being
Torterra (obviously)
Magnezone
Drapion
Floatzel
Garchomp
Gardevoir
But all the way up to the league I had quite a few more mons in rotation. Such as a honchkrow, machoke, snorlax and dusclops which stayed all stayed at the same level as the rest of my team throughout the playthrough just by regularly rotating the team. Made for quite an enjoyable run-through having such a large team
Personally, I'd just use the same team I had in the original Diamond when I picked Turtwig, and those are: Torterra, Togekiss, Gallade, Floatzel, Rapidash, and Weavile.
yo- could you do a video where people tell you their teams for BDSP and you tell what would be better and what moves they should use?(we only tell the Pokemon while you do all the work of trying to find the best moveset and change the team around if needed)
Ah yes here one is it’s definitely not here’s one nah I’m just kidding thanks for the team idea man
Turtwig was my starter and I had two of the other 5 on my final team. Torterra, Gallade, Gyarados, Rapidash, Crobat and Magnezone.
I want you to make the teams using only Gen 4 Pokémon that were introduced in Sinnoh
Infernape
Floatzel
Staraptor
Luxray
Garchomp
Togekiss/Gallade
@@Seth6000 He says on the Torterra vid and you tell him Infernape. Freakin' kek.
For those who want an easier way to find a moon stone you can get an absol with super luck and teach it their then the odd of finding a cleffa with a moon stone by about 20%
This was, honestly, another good team. Might just end up trading in a Dawn Stone, though. XD
Is there any way to use this team without clafable? I know it will ruin the team's composition but is there an alternative?
Fun fact: if you stab a bowl of cereal you will be a cereal killer
I personally would go with lucario as my fighting type, it's speed and attack are awesome
My Torterra team was Torterra, Luxray, Crobat, Mismagius, Gallade, and Azumarill
You confuse me sometimes, dude. "Houndoom is overrated." And then you have it on every team that doesn't include Infernape.
I think it's because it's the only other full evolution fire type outside of Rapidash and Infernape you can obtain for a regular playthrough, and it's far and away better than Rapidash, so people love it a lot more than perhaps they should?
@@BmanTheChamp true tho I used rapidash and it was a underrated damage dealer imo. The Smart strike and flame charge upgrade really helped me.
it's because the only firetype that doesn't suck and isn't a version exclusive is houndoom
Nasty plot is actually a TM that you can pick up near the fighting gym. No need to wait for Pastoria.
I gotta say Torterra is not a bad Pokemon in the original Gen 4 games: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum from NDS. I used one before and I'll use Torterra in my second playthrough of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, My first playthrough of Brilliant Diamond, I going to choose Chimchar since Chimchar is one of my favorite starter's from Gen 4. Design and moveset wise 😉, I'm glad that you Mystic that you're showing appreciation on Torterra now, That's character development right there 😊, Looking forward for the two final BDSP Best Team's very soon, Please Mystic, Do the Worst Team for BDSP first then wrap up the BDSP best team series with the Best Team for BDSP: No Restrictions.
Mystic umbreon idea:The worst team for pokemon Diamond and Pearl (Sinnoh pokemon only)
bro when did black and white 2 no restriction i have so waited for this
Find it funny that the big turtle with no limbs to comfortably utilise offensively is the physical attacker whilst the penguin with razor sharp wings and the bipedal Fighting type monkey are not
No ground type moves prior to earthquake what about bulldoze in the vielstone mall ? It helps drops speed super useful
Mystic… my guy… one time you actually need to do a sponsorship bit for the Veilstone Department store
What if I want to use stealth rock in my move set? Where should I put it 🤔
Hey since when are there animations from Powerpoint
I like the team that you chose.
I just finished my brilliant diamond and breeded the hell out for my shining pearl playthrough with torterra. I transferred EV trained perfect nature perfect IVs
Beldum
Togepi w/ shiny stone
sneasel with razor claw
maxed beauty feebas.
and it's worth it cause weavile id just tearing through lol, downside is they loaf around too much because they grow so fast because of being traded 🤣
Here is the Team for you summed up:
Torterra: Earthquake, Wood Hammer, Leech Seed, Curse
Gyarados: Waterfall, Earthquake, Crunch, Dragon Dance
Snorlax: Body Slam, Brick Break, High Horsepower, Heavy Slam
Houndoom: Flamethrower, Dark Pulse, Sludge Bomb, Nasty Plot

Gallade: Psycho Cut, Drain Punch, Aerial Ace, Rock Slide
Locations:
Torterra: Starter
Gyarados: Any water patch while fishing
Snorlax: Honey tree (Rare) Underground
Houndoom: Route 214/215 or Underground
Clefable: Mansion Garden or Mt Coronet
