It Ain't Me Babe - Bob Dylan Cover by MonaLisa Twins
- - - - - - - - -
What’s that, a new album? Out today? ;-) Oh yes!
No pre-order phase, no teasers and no waiting. It's out now and available for everyone: The Duo Sessions
The 15 songs on this album are all intimate, mostly acoustic versions of some of our and your favourite covers and original songs. Just the two of us (usually with two guitars) in front of a couple of microphones without fancy studio production. If we go by your feedback, you've been really enjoying these more stripped-back arrangements 🙂 And we love doing them!
We initially recorded all of the songs on the new album, including "It Ain't Me Babe", for the MLT Club. It's our own cosy corner of the Internet where we are sharing a more personal side of our work and LOTS of extra content and music. More info: mlt1.uk/ytmltc
We haven't teased this album project very much so this is probably coming out of the blue for most of you. We’ve been recording these Duo Sessions for the MLT Club for a while now, and since we began to stack up quite a nice amount of them we decided to give them a proper home and release them on their own album.
We mixed originals and various 60's covers, some from artists that we have never covered before (like Joni Mitchell or The Who).
We want to make clear that this release is not replacing our next original album which is still very much in the works! It is simply a bonus project that many people were asking for :-)
Thanks to all of you for caring and listening and an extra special thanks to all MLT Club members for inspiring and supporting this album project. ♥
Take care and stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa
I can finally understand all the lyrics.
What ? She can play Dylan style Harmonica too ? I am so impressed ! 🧡
Mona, that harmonica is PERFECT!!!
Song of my youth. Strangely comforting to hear it again…
Met Dylan in '71 and we talked about life. Bob would have approved. Well done.
After following the Twins for years, this is still my favorite song of theirs. I always loved this old Dylan song, and the Twins just nail it!
60’s music is in good hands
That is really important and appreciated
great
With everything going on in the world, it’s easy to forget that there is also still beauty and joy to be found. I know I’m not the only one who loses sight of that. Then you two put out a new song, and for a few minutes I forget about the storm clouds and just feel… good. Thank you for that.
Well said!
Ain’t that the truth
I’m 65 years old now and I live alone
Had my heart broken over and over again but the one that broke it the worse was the one that denied me our first born child and 18 years after her birth she (my wife of my youth) tried to Sudice me with our daughter I never met
Yes, you have to look hard, but it is out there.
I’ll second that
I am 74 and have tears running down because thisso good
The harmonica is killer! Also really nice are the little flourishes on lead guitar. A lot of care went into building this rendition and it shows.
I only found the MonaLisa Twins tonight, and I must say I'm blown away. I've watched about 12 videos so far. You have a new fan.
welcome to the 'club'
Think that new is a larger group of appreciation for these astonishing vocal harmony twins(The Mona Lisa Twins). Outstanding and very cool artist.
Me too. WOW
@@phillipwalker6517 ME 2!!
good...swingin'...these gals have the right stuff...
Love it! You girls have 1960s blood running in your veins. Dylan should love that cover.
That’s what I thought, too. Another great 60s cover by MLT. I must get this new CD and one for a friend.
You two look like you're having so much fun
They weren't even born yet when Bob Dylan did sing this for the first time!
It is so good how they bring these old songs alive again...
What can't these incredible musicians do?
Love this ❤ love the harmonica playing 😊
Nice work girls enjoying your music cheers
Makes me wanna cry to music so good
Like a fine wine MLT keep getting better as time goes by.
My daughter-in-law was born in the wrong decade as well. However I’m glad you’re here now. This 59 year old man love’s hearing your wondrous covers, some of which I like better than the originals, like this one.
Dylan is one of the greatest song writers of the last 50+ years, but he can't sing for toffee. Most of his songs with a few exceptions are heard best as covers. Like this.
I so agree with you Craig!!
This version is too slow. Just another country twang. Dylan's version is snappy and ironic.
@@dnmurphy48 Very true. Some of the covers are incredibly awesome and Dylan's own renditions are nauseating.
@@Meine.Postma The tempo was perfect for them. Well played. It's a tough song to play and sing.
So what can t they do???😂 that was aswome!
Yeah these Duo Sessions are so good. When you have that much talent all you need is a couple guitars, couple mikes and maybe an occasional blues harp. Good song choice too.
Harmony, harmonica, guitars, singing talent beyond great ! IT"S what everyone looks for in fabulous TALENT & twins are the ones to look for , "babe" ! No end to your twins & individual talent ! Thanks again for being here !
Brilliant, the words seem to mean even more when you ladies sing them.
JUST WHEN I THINK ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO LOVE YOU ANYMORE....YOU GO AND BRAID YOUR HAIRS
One of my favorite Dylan songs. This is great. I'd be interested in hearing you doing more of Bob's stuff.
I´m hypnotised.
I was a teenager living in So Calif loving all music of that time and also the 50"s. Surfing and skateboarding. Bringing such great memories back. Love
I keep watching MLT videos and I keep finding myself amazed by their talents and abilities.
You are both as beautiful as you sing. GOD Bless you both.
Only just found these two ladies, can't believe all the times Ive been the Cavern and missed them, brilliant artists
What a pair of players, what a pair of voices, what a sound... Greta, great, great. Hats off.
This is the best cover ever of "It ain't me babe"!! 🥰
Oh, man, those harmonies from two perfectly matched voices, just otherworldly. Thanks Mona and Lisa, and your guitars and your harmonica and your obvious love for this music and each other.
How absolutely lovely. You bring out that rich beauty of the guitars with your musicianship. Heavenly harmonies. All the decades fell away from the song and its writer and left the piece in its clarity, crisp and sweet. Thank you so much.
There it is..Saturday June 26, 2020...Drive My Car tops 4 million views and yesterday While My Guitar Gently Weeps topped 4 million....two songs released 9 years ago and 7 years ago reach 4 million UA-cam views 1-day apart....the MonaLisa Twins hit a another milestone in their musical career....and WE GET THE BENEFIT of it all...Mona...Lisa...Papa Rudi...Michaela...THANK YOU for the joy you bring us old farts...I’m 70...the memories we relive because of what you “kids” do !!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've only found the twins in the last couple of months, but glad I have found them. They are just wonderful, so talented it's just a joy to listen to them
Great cover of an iconic song written by the master songwriter-Robert Allan Zimmerman.
Or better known by his stage name Bob Dylan.
that giggle at last chorus is accurate,it is like the voice of freedom
Beautiful!!! Thank you Monalisa Twins. Since I found you two beautiful and wonderfully talented young ladies on UA-cam a couple of months ago, you have brought some much needed joy and happiness to my life at a much needed time. I am soon to be 58 years old. The first song of yours I heard was your copy of "While my guitar gently weeps. I was instantly hooked! Not a day has gone by since than that I haven't gotten my daily dose of the Monalisa Twins.
Thank you for sharing your sharing your beautiful gift and talent
The first time I ever heard that song way back in the 60s it was The Turtles first hit ...they were singing on one of those TV Variety shows...these days The Turtles are known as Flo and Eddie......as usual you girls did a great job ...absolutely loved it....gets my Friday started off right. !
no, mark & howard are known as flo & eddie. nowadays, it's the turtles, featuring flo & eddie
Yes, the Turtles version was fantastic!
I glad I got to see the original by Dylan
I have just found these two
.. wow I am blown away. Busy buying albums now. I love you 😍
Best cover of this song I’ve ever heard. Love Mona on th harmonica and the guitar playing.
Great cover. The harmonica was perfecto!
Outstanding separation on the two voices! It’s such a richer presentation to hear each one distinctly while working together.
One of the best covers out here. Thx!
Absolutely wonderful you made an old man cry.... I was there I saw the Great's the doors the Birds..etc....Bob Dylan would be proud I've been following your videos and you two are very talented, you got Charisma and personalities I love the fact that you're keeping the old songs alive that's very special.. I've seen all your videos and it looks like you play other instruments.... I also like what you did with John Sebastian and some of the other videos doing the Beatles songs and The Hollies.. I myself play bagpipes.... keep up the good work God bless both of you.....bear .
Please: it's the Byrds ...
EXCELLENT....carry on, america is free.
I listened to the “Duo’s Album” in my car today for the first time and I was blown away by your performances thank you MLT for the great music of my youth
This song has been one of my favorite songs since the Twins released it in the MLT club 4 years ago. This is harmony at it's best and Mona's blues harp sings solos so beautifully.
So good. I love the way Lisa holds onto the notes longer than Mona to create such a contrast between the harmony and the melody, and cannot comprehend how anyone can play a harmonica with her mouth, rhythm with her foot, and guitar all at the same time. Such an original and varied interpretation: fun, fresh, and surprising. Excellent camera work too, and you sing and play and move with so much emotion. It's so fun to hear and so fun to watch!
Amazing musicians🎸.
These girls (women) have the talent to bring back so much incredible stuff
You two consistently manage to pull off that rare skillful trick of performing classics that are not cover versions, but rather fresh vibrant performances of great tracks. Thankyou for brining joy through music for many years, but most of all now in these very peculiar times. Stay well and safe. Love, light and peace to you both and to your loved ones.
OMG! Ladies this is Brilliant!
Mona, your blues harp is to die for! Beautiful.
Ladies, those Harmonies are to die for. They have to be heaven sent!😀
A beautiful cover of one of the most Beautiful Classics of the 60s.
It so hard to cover a Dylan song and get it right. You owned this Ladies!
You should be very proud! Well Done💛❤
The MLT are absolutely fabulous! Tell a friend.
That's lightened my mood quite a bit. Thank you ladies. I was listening on Spotify but it's so much better to see you both so happy.
Superbly done, as usual. You girls never cease to amaze me. I constantly find myself looking forward to your videos. Thank you so much.
I love when you two harmonies like this, it really highlights your talent.
Great harmonies on this Dylan classic
just beautiful, perfectly realised harmonies.
Johnny Cash and June Carter did a great rendition of this fine song in the 1960's. I love you Mona Lisa Twinns 《♡♡》
Some things in life would be an unqualified crime and an utter shame to ever miss. This performance is one of them...oh my, yes!
Nailed it!!! You two have incredible harmony! Keep up the good work. 😃
Okay. I've been going back over your youtube catalog of songs and as wonderful as you both were five or ten years ago you are simply unbelievable over the last few years. The musicality and instrumentation are so advanced, and your voices matured. Just wow. Wow. (Almost lost that harmonica).
Love it. So talented, stay well and God Bless you for bringing joy.
absolutely love the harmonica playing Mona. I'm 70 Love your covers you're the best along with the Fab Four, Rain Amy Slattery Ilove to hear you do Dylan . One request "Catch the wind" by Donovan
They did "Catch the Wind" several years ago (in case you haven't found it already). Mona is perfect on the harmonica in that one, too.
@@lynnnewcomb8396 Lynn thanks I forgot that I'd seen them do "Catch the wind" Lynn if you like the Beatles at all there's an ensemble that play Beatles albums here called Analogue" there on youtube they are really good trust me.
After working with patients in their home today I came home to this wonderful tune....Can't wait to get their new album, looks like its going to be another great one
What a great cover of this song l absolutely loved it keep up the great work
Fabulous!!! Eat your heart out, Bob!!
Brilliant cover of a Bob Dylan song.
Great job on this Dylan masterpiece.....
On another note...While My Guitar Gently Weeps hit 4 Million views on Friday June 26, 2020...another milestone for the Twins...and...Drive My Car will hit 4 Million views later today or tomorrow....Congrats to MLT Team....Thank you so much for your dedication to producing great music !!!!
Lovely refreshing and individual interpretation of Bob's work. Great job!
Love it girls ,,, thanks !!!!!
Nobody ever sang this song that good... You go girls! 👏❤️👏
This song was featured on KXCI 91.3 in Tucson
As a teen in the 80's, when those around me of approximately the same age liked very different music, it was somewhat difficult for me when expressing my like for artists like Dylan. This song is one of my favourites! I find the tune somehow soothing and the lyrics had great meaning for me for quite some time as a teen.
Very well done MLT. As ever your approach is quite professional yet easy going and a thrill to the ears. I like the way you seem to be having fun with a song which has lyrics that can be taken very seriously. Keep up the good works.
Blowing out a melody on harmonica, tapping the bass drum and strumming a tight rhythm on guitar all at the same time--while making it look fun and easy? I wonder if most people even know how rare that ability is.
Thanks for making our day brighter again.
MonaLisa Twins, sweet voices + swell music = sweet video
Great song, performance, and harmonies are so tight.
Loved it, God Bless
Note perfect in my mature ears. So professional, thanks.
Barry.Devon
These kids are really good! Believe it or not, there really was a time when this song and its words had a resonance with American youth. My time for example.
Wow! This duo consistently gives rebirth to numerous songs--particularly from the 1960's--and gives the music industry hope of expressing quality over commercialization. Wonderful as always.
You are both fantastic!! Greetings from Dubai
besides my endless tracks, i listen to you two bright eyed wonders; when i draw and paint and write. thanks for so much heart! love from Mia
Thank you for keeping the old songs alive. they don't write them like this any more.
I love the look on your faces at the end of the video. I can tell that you both love what you do and love performing together. You two are so talented. I'm so happy that I discovered your UA-cam Channel, music videos and Face Book Page. It has been such a pleasure to see your earlier videos and watching you two grow up before my eyes. It warms my heart.
These two twins have music in their souls/
A great way to start my Friday! Such a beautiful version of this classic Bob Dylan song. The harmonies are a joy to listen to and the feel of this song is great and up lifting in a world full of craziness. You ladies nailed this song. Thank you both and god bless
Best version I've ever heard! Hands down
I just loved that version!!!! You just blow me away in the wind. Bob would be proud!!!!
One thing that really stands out to me is that you ladies sing in a way that is very appealing AND is sustainable for your vocal apparatus. Much of what I hear in pop music sounds to me like people who will barely be able to speak, let along sing when they're 60 years old. I suspect that your two will still have all the fire in your voices that you do now when you're 80 years old---- because you are smart about it and resist the urge to scream into the mic.
Thank You
an earlier comment by another fan commented on the uncanny ability you 2 have of doing a classic but so much better than just a cover and I fully agree. The arrangements are the same but the energy and your talent makes them stand up on their own. and you dont need to see the video to hear how much you enjoy doing this and all the other songs. Dont get mer wrong, I love the videos but your passion comes thru just listening. hope that made sense!
Fantastic....young ladies Can sing and play the song of Bob Dylan... Great
Your cover is the first time hearing this song for me and I love it! Both your singing and musicianship is so diverse, you keep proving to us whatever style or genre of music you focus on, you do it absolutely brilliantly. It's a lot like how the Beatles were with their diversity. That's what made them remarkable and what makes MLT remarkable too. Mona, your harmonica playing is superb!
What beautiful close harmonies on It Ain't Me Babe!
I am so happy you covered this song Mona and Lisa -- just what we need to bring a smile on this summer day 😁
More Bob Dylan. You do it soo well.
well once again an incredible version of a classic Dylan song from 2 very talented young ladies.
what I wonderful way to wake up to a "new" song from the MonaLisa Angels---I refer to them as such for they have the voices of a angel.
:)
