The National League of Families POW/MIA flag, more commonly known as the POW/MIA flag for short, was first adopted in 1972........it bares the official emblem of the National League of Families of American Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia. The POW/MIA flag was flown over the White House for the first time in September 1982, but not full time as it flies now. In 2019, the National POW/MIA Flag Act was signed into law by Pres. Trump requiring that the aforementioned flag be flown on certain federal properties, including the U.S. Capitol Building, at ALL TIMES & on ALL DAYS, when the U.S. flag is flown. Previously, the flag was flown on Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, National POW/MIA Recognition Day, and Veterans Day ONLY. So as best as I can find, it flew at the WH ONLY on these dates, & up until this flag act was signed in 2019, and it now is required to be flown all the time as a result of this law so yes, it would def have been flown for at least the last two years at the WH.
Q creates all sorts of ugly conspiracies in their dark web holes. Andrew has addressed this one before. By bringing up trump he can get the cult to end this one, so he doesn't have to spend another Christmas Eve explaining it isn't a witch flag or whatever.
I was acquainted with people putting up POW MIA flags back in the 90s. These guys were affiliated with the long time demonstration next to The Vietnam Memorial.. The flags are also outside of House and Senate offices. Flags were installed way before Trump, even though he passed this law.
They have been flying under the American Flag at government buildings for more than 10 years. Of course, many other individuals and organizations fly it as well. Enjoy your holiday season.
Section 1082 of the 1998 Defense Authorization Act, mandated that the POW/MIA flag flag is to be flown over the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Korean and Vietnam Veterans War Memorials, the offices of the Secretaries of State, Defense and Veterans Affairs, offices of the Director of the Selective Service System, every major military installation (as directed by the Secretary of Defense), every post office and all Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers and national cemeteries. It wasn't until August of 1990 that Congress officially passed U.S. Public Law 101-355, designating the POW/MIA flag in it's current design as “The symbol of our Nation’s concern and commitment toresolving as fully as possible the fates of Americans still prisoner, missing and unaccounted for in Southeast Asia.” The the National POW/MIA Flag Act that Trump (who has openly stated his dislike of dead/missing soldiers & POWs) signed only amended title 36, United States Code, to require that the POW/MIA flag be displayed on all days that the flag of the United States is displayed on certain Federal properties.
I am glad that the MIA POW flag is back flying on many buildings again for I remember a period of time around 10 to 20 years ago, though this black flag was flying still, it wasn't as much as it was in the 1980s. I am glad to see this flag flying mord often again as it was in my childhood back in the 1980s. I have family who served in the Vietnam War. This flag when it started back in early 1980s helped take the stigma and hatred against Vietnam Vets that was widespread when they returned back to USA from serving.
When you said "black flag" I knew it was going to be the POW/MIA flag. Thanks for the impromptu tour of central DC - I miss it so. It changes constantly yet remains unchanged. Historically, a black flag before battle meant that you would not give quarter (a chance for them to surrender). Gen Santa Ana's army flew the black flag before the battle of the Alamo.
I suspect that was a totally blank black flag that Santa Ana flew. This black flag has a very distinctive logo representing POW's & MIA's, so it isn't the same black flag that Santa Ana flew.

so i m french but i bilieve the black flag it's : The black flag you observed beneath the American flag at the White House is most likely the POW/MIA flag. This flag is dedicated to prisoners of war (POW) and military personnel missing in action (MIA). It symbolizes the United States' commitment to never forget these soldiers and to work toward their return or the clarification of their fate. The POW/MIA flag is often displayed during commemorative ceremonies, such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day, as well as other occasions honoring veterans and missing military personnel. Its use at the White House highlights the importance the U.S. government places on remembering and supporting the families of these service members. This flag was created in the 1970s, a period marked by growing awareness of the plight of American soldiers who were missing or held captive during the Vietnam War. Since then, it has become a national symbol of recognition and solidarity with these service members and their families.
You are correct, the flag flies on most municipal flag poles. If its a flag pole for a town, county, city or state organization, you'll most likely see the POW/MIA flag just below the American flag.

Does anyone really think the political offices care about POWS ?
Yes, they certainly do.
They don't know how deep it is, it's not the POWs they thinking about.
@@horatiobeaker They don't

P6: Do you have any idea how many American military personnel are still POW or MIA?
Read the book
Kiss the boys goodbye
It is the story of our government abandoning pow’s in Vietnam
About 81,600 Americans are MIA or POW
How about 336 million! We have been in prisoned by the Cabal/deepstate for many decades soon to be free again!
Deleting post! Wow!
@@miguelpadilla31 Wow that is insane, That's just the military I take it?
Civilians included is probably more like 500,000+'
Greetings from Australia.
I enjoy the trivia you share with us. Thanks! Merry Christmas 🎄🇺🇸
Show, not tell. Imagine if all media could work like that
That was some interesting information. Did not know about the POW/MIA flag. Thank you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
so crazy that they construct that presidential viewing stand every 4 years and then take it down right after...you'd think by now there would be a more permanent structure in place...
Merry Christmas, Andrew and family! ✨🎄🕊️🌹
Thank you & Merry Christmas from Hong Kong🎄🎀

FYI, this was my first time on this channel.
a bit of trivia for you. After the VA was elevated to a Cabinet level department, it changed it's name from Veterans Administration to Veterans Affairs. Personally as a Vet I've always have called it the first one. The latter sounds wrong.
"To those who would understand, no explanation is necessary. To those who would not understand, no explanation is possible." Merry Christmas, Andrew and all!😊
True. They wouldn't know what it feels like. Can still explain it though so they may hopefully have respect for it even if it didn't happen to someone they loved. People that gave their lives and are Mia and pow should never be forgotten.
watching from abroad - dont understand anything.
@@antevenio8303it shows support for americans being held hostage in foreign countries. First used during the vietnam war now probably for the people being held hostage by terrorists in gaza
@@lorig7077 I understand 100%, however, I also thought the POW flag had “POW” on it and I thought a symbol 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ The one flying yesterday had absolutely nothing on it~~it was solid black. PLEASE correct me if I’m incorrect~~Thank you 🙇♀️ (maybe it was just blowing so much yesterday that I couldn’t see the symbol & POW
Thanks, robb..genuine question I believe..thanks for the dbag answer to those that honestly wanted to learn something.
Merry Christmas P6‼️
so i m french but i bilieve the black flag it's :
The black flag you observed beneath the American flag at the White House is most likely the POW/MIA flag.
Mercury program, daredevil pilots the class of elite. Sheppard, Glenn and 5 others. All with the right stuff. POW flags, great respect. Merry Christmas.
Thank you. So. Much. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄🎄🎁
Thanks for all your awesome content this year. Merry Christmas. Enjoy the break.
Thank you for clearing up the information 😮
I know that flag very well...long story involving my NAVY bootcamp days
Post office didn't get today off
Today's not a federal holiday. My local post office closed at noon, so at least some employees went home a little earlier.
Thanks for doing this and for the bits of our history. Ive never been to DC. God bless and Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
