This was a lot of fun! Thanks for hanging out with me for a day :-)
Anytime! I had a lot of fun too; next time I'll bring a wider selection.
Loving these collabs with Whisky Vault! Cheers Glen!
Unfortunately, I don't drink anymore.
I don't drink any less either.
Love the show.
Dean Martin once said, “I don’t drink anymore. I freeze it and eat it like a popsicle.”
That intro was great!! hahaha
Absolutely love this collaboration.. 2 of my favorite channels.. thanks again for doing this... now to get Rex & Daniel cooking in Canada.. lol
love the convo at the end
Yes - I keep thinking that this would be a great video series with Food and Drink creators just sitting around talking about what we do.
I love that people ask about the grocery store with the sale items! Great series with Whiskey Vault. I am Team Julie with Islay as a sipping whisky.
Thanks for coming to Texas! Hopefully you’ll be back soon!
Two of my favorite channels, love to see it.
Good to see you and the som chop it up.
As a big fan of Forty Creek it's nice to hear about another great brand from the LCBO without needing to risk buying a dud. I'll keep an eye out for this one, thanks.
Unfortunately, Distillerie St.Laurent went down a few weeks ago.
Yes they did - I was scheduled to fly out and film with them, found out just before I left that they closed suddenly. It's too bad, because a lot of what they were doing was great.
I was about to comment the same. Looks like the SAQ still has a few of their products in stock.
Love that crossover! Keep them coming, and thank you for promoting these awesome products we have! ❤
Man, this collab gets better every time. Keep 'em coming!
Yeah!!! We're baack!! What a great place....fantastic! Now it makes sense!
One of my favorite Dick Francis mysteries includes a description of various kinds of whiskey. Thank you for continuing my education.
Im originally from Maine an hour from the Canadian border. My go to whiskey for mixed drinks is Canadian Club. I know it's not great. My father always said "there's a club in every bottle" in reference to how your head feels the next morning 😅 Maybe it's nostalgia or the reasonable price but I like the flavor in a mixed drink. Definitely not a sipping whiskey.
I love Canadian whiskey. I LOVE 40 Creek whiskey. I don’t know if it’s well thought of in Canada, It may not be a high grade in ya’ll’s opinion, I don’t know.. I’m no expert, but I do know that it is smooth sipping and very very pleasant to drink.
Never would I have imagined these 2 worlds of mine collaborating. Nice
I don't know if you have heard of them or can even get them but I would like to see you guys taste the whiskys of Cirka, a distillery from Montreal. They make some really interesting whiskys in my opinion.
That comment about your friends in the television industry is hilarious, I literally don't know anyone under the age of seventy who owns a TV.
Sad the distillery went bankrupt a few weeks ago. Will be too late to get a bottle when I visit my parents in Rimouski next year. I cannot find a bottle in Texas. A "Rimouskois" living in Texas
The comment about "Canadians keeping all the good whiskey" reminded me of a video I saw that said the same thing but it was the Swiss and cheese. I get the sentiment though, keep the good stuff for the locals.
I love Shiner Bohemian Black Lager.
me too! ...but I only ever see Shiner Bock, no Shiner Black to be found
At some point, I would like to see you discuss Rye whiskey.
Glen, Have you been to Wegmans? Born in Rochester but now has 110 sores in 8 states. (11 stores in Buffalo...closer to you)
It's been while, but I have been to Wegmans
My still pot is running right now
Wait is this a reupload? I could have sworn I saw this episode before. Maybe I am just going insane, watching too much of Glen.
Nope new upload - we shot a couple of different tastings in the vault.
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking Fair enough. I have been going over the older videos recently and tend to watch them in, or just before, bed. So sometimes they get a bit muddled up or I misremember things, hah.
So... Glen, you're not flying tomorrow? :-)
Malted barley would be orge mondé. If I still drank, I'd be all over this one.
I asked them and it is malted barley - don't know why they didn't fully put that on the label?
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking Interesting. Thanks for letting me know!
@@Mlle_Bleue At 4:15 you can see in the description on the label that it says "orge malté"
I'd sleep in there
Unfortunately that distillery went bankrupt last month :(
Yes they did - I was scheduled to fly out and film with them, found out just before I left that they closed suddenly. It's too bad, because a lot of what they were doing was great.
Sadly Glen, the distillery is now permanently closed, bankruptcy. Extremely sad.
Yes - I was scheduled to fly out and film with them, found out just before I left that they closed suddenly. It's too bad, because a lot of what they were doing was great. I wonder what will happen to the facility?
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking And that's how your third youtube channel...and distillery were born.
Is it Whisky or Whiskey?
Depends where it's made, who you listen to, and how pedantic you are... Generally made in Canada it's spelled Whisky. If it's Made in the USA it's spelled Whiskey; unless you're one of the American brands that spells it Whisky, or if you're reading US gov't regulations where they also spell it Whisky.
@@GlenAndFriendsCooking never realized there was a difference in spelling until now.
I moved to Germany a few years ago and most of the Canadian whisky here tastes like gasoline. None are great.
so apparently Germany is being treated like the USA.. lol
I has stopped drinking alcohol altogether because insane gain of weight and sleep deprivation caused by it but my experience of Canadian whiskies are that they are rather bland.
Probably best in a cocktail.
