    • @FerryXtheMercy
      @FerryXtheMercy 6 років тому +16

      mportusable Nah, must 've been something more to it than just reading a book surely, the difference was way too striking 😉
      There's no denying there was a clear difference for sure. Max' similarly noticable different attitude after the race might have had something to do with it as well, that one was pretty eye-catching too, but can't fully explain it either.
      Whatever brought it on, I liked it though, racing hard but being fair and honest about it afterwards sure makes a nice change. At the very least makes life easier for us , the viewers, not having to read between the lines of what they're saying to second guess what really happened. But good sportsmanship in general has never hurt any sports 😃
      Seb's gesture towards max after their little chat was kind of moving even, making it pretty hard to continue disliking him 😉. Hope these two, having been pretty harsh to one another so many times before, now persevere and have set a new standard for the rest of them too.

      It makes me laugh to see these comments about a F1 pilot. If you have an opportunity, you take it... How much I've seen pilots being too patient and having to back off due to the dirty air and destroying their tires because of the oversteer caused by this dirty air. Of course today he had the good tires to wait a bit more but it's not in a pilot's DNA to wait... :p
      It was just a brake lock otherwise everybody would be waving at the good move :D

    Will Buxton, another fabulous Paddock Pass. I very much appreciate the way you retell the whole story of each race, injecting interviews to support your narrative. I was especially intrigued with the respectful, introspective question posed to Max at 14:04. One can tell from his eye contact with you that Max really thought about the question and answered as honestly as a race driver can...great question Will. Keep up the empathy you portray as you encourage Max to improve his race-craft. After all, you are doing your bit to improve F1 for all of us.
    This is the second week in a row where I've been very impressed with Sebastian's maturity as a person/driver. He first defended Lewis' (post-race press conf) knee-jerk reaction to Max hitting him in Bahrain and now Seb maturely accepts Max's apology for the collision. A much improved attitude, for sure. This season is starting out very well and I look forward to the Mercs fighting back for wins as well. Fingers crossed for a tight battle throughout and a championship decider in Abu Dhabi.

      he meant that a 10 second penalty for ruining anyone's race is a joke, the stop and go should come back for this kind of things, or maybe add 20 or 15 seconds instead of 10, even drive through penalty!

    • @ericdev2511
      @ericdev2511 6 років тому

      He ruined his own race more than Seb's. He was on better tires and would have been able to pass eventually, just chose a poor spot. Seb lost a few places because of it, but he didn't have the pace even before then to come too high up in the points. Max on the other hand was going to podium, and probably would have had a shot at Bottas for 2nd.

    • @elrapdepia
      @elrapdepia 6 років тому +1

      vettel lost the most important place, against hamilton, if you ruined someone's race and yours, nobody cares about your race, because it was your own fault.

      Well Vettel and Hamilton have many more wins than Ricciardo. And because his wins were all exciting races what he had to work for, each win is still just as special as the last. I think the buzz from winning has worn off on Vettel and Hamilton. They're more concerned of the Championship trophy and the points.

  • @vgt
    @vgt 6 років тому +4

    The problem on that attempted overtake by Verstappen wasn't his intent. The problem was that he completely botched the execution of it. He had the room and he had the fresher tires, and therefore more grip. Vettel even said he wasn't going to contest the overtake. Max just locked up and made contact, which to me borders on incompetence considering Vettel's tire situation. I think any driver in that scenario with the better tire setup would have went for that gap, but Verstappen somehow found a way to screw it up.

    Why do people have so much problems with incidents happening, that used to be an exciting thing, it's part of racing and it changes things up entirely. Ricciardo in the points, Vettel losing points to Hamilton, Bottas, Raikkonen in the points.. this makes the championship more exciting in every way. What happened to the F1 fanbase to complain about anything and everything. Why do people have so much issue with the halo, saying that risks are part of racing.. but as soon as drivers actually race, take risks and things happen.. people complain.

    • @Ritermann
      @Ritermann 6 років тому +7

      Mirage it’s about why those crashes happen. Of course when it happens by accident, nobody is to blame and yes it happenes. But stupid drivers like max do it again and again and again. That’s a problem and annoying. Nothing to do with driving rather than crashing :/

    • @Miragexe
      @Miragexe 6 років тому +2

      How is this not an accident then?.. And he doesn't do it that often either, people just like to single him out, and F1 likes to use Max for attention because they know F1 is boring as shit these days. That's why every incident with Max gets blown out of proportion with replays from every angle and we barely see anything about things like the Toro Rossos clashing.

    • @Miragexe
      @Miragexe 6 років тому

      Sure, but it's taken to an extend where they're seemingly actively trying to ruin his reputation.

      Thanks Mirage, finally someone with common sense. I'm following F1 since 1988 and this is the first year I see sooooooo much HATE in the UA-cam comment section, it's getting ridiculous.
      Could it be because the US is now a bit more active , with Liberty Media promoting it much more in the states and we now have a whole new audience ???
      As for me, I think the F1 channel should stop allowing comments.

      Ferrari should have given Sebastian fresh rubber after Verstappen hit him. There were still 12 laps to go and they had a set of ultrasofts. Considering how fast the Red Bulls were with softs Vettel could still make a podium run in 10 laps despite another Pitstop. He would be lapping 3 seconds faster than Bottas. He could at least finish ahead of Hamilton for sure

    • @shawngilbert1702
      @shawngilbert1702 6 років тому +2

      Carlos Teixeira that’s a huge gamble, especially considering how much traffic he would have had. If they pitted him, he would have dropped all the way to 14/15th and might have lost all points. Really there was no option except try to hold on.

    • @Penguin-kr9do
      @Penguin-kr9do 6 років тому +2

      Seb had damage on his floor, which is why Alonso was able to overtake him. Even if he had pitted, he had no pace to catch up.

    • @carlosteixeira2614
      @carlosteixeira2614 6 років тому

      Shawn Gilbert Except he would be lapping in the low 1.34's, which in a matter of 5 laps he would be well in the points again. It wouldn't be a huge gamble with all that grip he would fly through traffic in the DRS zones. He totally fried his tyres after crashing with Verstappen, he couldn't even hold Hulkenberg. I'm confident he would be ahead of Hamilton. Losing 22 seconds on the pits is no big deal if you can lap 3.5 seconds faster than Hamilton. He would be at least 1 second faster than Ricciardo. The ultras would last 10 laps just fine, considering how light the car is in those last laps. He wouldn't win for sure, but he would be ahead of HAM no doubt and at least increase his point gap. I wouldn't try this in Monaco of course, but in China? Come on Ferrari really fumbled with the pits today

    It is very clear that Verstappen doesn't learn from these mistakes and unfortunately FIA only gives him minor penalties, while these penalties should get more severe as he is doing it again and again. I think a 1-Race ban for him would be suitable, maybe he would rethink his driving style a bit, because this is starting to become a YOKE. *Alonso voice*

    To everyone who's hating on Verstappen all of a sudden, just take a look back to his first season with 'Torro-Rosso'. He had some of the best overtakes in that season, in a much more inferior car. Its only three races into the season. He's young, just 20. What are most of us doing at 20?
    When he pulls off risky overtakes like the one in Mexico, people love him. Two mistakes and suddenly he's the worst driver on the grid? Give him the season, he'll learn.

    • @brandonclevert3173

    • @roshanchetan
      @roshanchetan 6 років тому +8

      Brandon Clevert slow learner because of two mistakes in one race? Really?
      The puncture and damage in Bahrain was his fault, yes. But he saw a very reasonable gap and went for it.
      He's admitted that it was his fault today. He will learn. Give him time atleast.
      Also, the thing that makes F1 so interesting are things like this that change championships. Driver error, mechanical problems, race directors error. All of this adds up to make one really exciting season. Just enjoy it.

    • @boston0035
      @boston0035 6 років тому +9

      Roshan Chetan I see what you mean but he doesn't change his attitude.last year not less people said that he does useless mistakes and causes accidents with over drivers. It's not the first time that he ruin Vettel's race. Hamilton fears him due to his driving it's a mess

    • @IAMROSHANRAJ
      @IAMROSHANRAJ 6 років тому +9

      Roshan Chetan its been three years how much more time he needs??...he is not a rookie anymore...he is fast but stupid....if its like he tried really hard for many laps and just got a sniff and took it it was OK.....but this he had superior tyre superior speed and enough space to got inside but atill ended up crashing....last race also it was unnecessary to squeeze hamilton like that ham gave him enough space to make the move but he wanted to push ham out to avoid ham going around... that's not how it works...u cant expect other drivers to park their cars on the side of the track just because he wants to overtake

    • @roshanchetan
      @roshanchetan 6 років тому

      RES GAMER and how many races has he been messing up and taking drivers out? This has been 2 judgements that hasn't gone his way. If you play any form of sport, at any level, you'll understand that mistakes happen. Even to the very best (I'll just point out Hamilton vs Rosberg 2016, Barcelona. A race Max went on to win)
      All I'm saying now is, let the season go on. Stop pouncing on the kid for making a bad judgement call one day in the car. Also in Bahrain, he's the one that paid for pushing Hamilton out. Not Hamilton.
