Vettel is just the most consistent driver from the top 3 teams at the moment, Hamilton and Bottas are lacking pace, Verstappen and Räikkönen are making too many mistakes (Kimi had a lot of bad luck as well) and Ricciardo could be a real challenge if Red Bull improves a bit

That incident could have easily resulted in a double fatality given that Gasly was going 320+ km/h, while Hartley was going like 50 km/h and the turn they were approaching had no large run-off areas a-la Bahrain or China, just that little 'pocket' to the right. And I'm pretty sure those Pirelli plastic thingies cover a concrete or steel barrier. Had someone crashed into those at high speed, it would have been horrific. Mad props to Gasly for having fast enough reaction times to avoid Hartley.

At this level, the drivers should know that there are other cars belting around at 200mph so it's not the place to be dawdling and daydreaming and thinking about your grocery shopping. It never makes sense to me whenever the drivers say "Why didn't you tell me that he was on a hot lap?". Sometimes these guys forget that being on the track is like being on a shooting range or an aircraft carrier flight deck; if your concentration isn't at 100% all the time, people can get hurt or killed.
Truly Zambian Hartley had a puncture so he couldn't go any faster. It's clear there wasn't any communication, he had no idea what the gap was to Gasly. And ended up being caught where the racing line goes from inside to outside. They should have had him pull over before that corner. Gasly didn't even know Hartley had puncture till he was in pits, so he didn't know how fast Hartley was or where he would be. Really poor communication.
I like the landscape of this GP not the kind of the flashy type with lots of glass and lights, but it has its unique and sophisticated taste with the brown old fashioned buildings which make the scene exquisite nice choice, f1

Ferrari's pace is incredible. Ferrari would have stretched that gap a bit more. To 4-5 tenths. Raikkonen is a LOT faster than Vettel, despite being 39. I remember in his McLaren days Ron Dennis banned Kimi from watching other driver's quali laps on the TV in mid - 2003 because Kimi made mistakes in Barcelona and Canada early that year. He didn't make a single mistake after that. Maybe Ferrari need to do that.

Ferrari's pace is incredible. Ferrari would have stretched that gap a bit more. To 4-5 tenths. Having Kimi 3 tenths quicker without that mistake and probably Seb would have gone quicker as well without his mistake. Oh and tomorrow it's gonna get colder! 16 or 17 degrees. And Mercedes probably gonna have problems like they had in China on Saturday.

Raikkonen is a LOT faster than Vettel, despite being 39. I remember in his McLaren days Ron Dennis banned Kimi from watching other driver's quali laps on the TV in mid - 2003 because Kimi made mistakes in Barcelona and Canada early that year. He didn't make a single mistake after that. Maybe Ferrari need to do that.

What Seb did was unacceptable from a senior formula driver but he did not total Hamilton’s car and he apologised. Verstappen has an issue I really don’t think he should be driving for red bull. The guy has potential but is stubborn enough not to admit that his style won’t be tolerated by FIA longer. Look at his teammate a have never witnessed anyone with that kind of overtaking skills. Crashing in every season and costing somebody a championship title is unacceptable. And about kimi I’m a fan too but you need to know the limits of your vehicle especially Azerbaijan. If you make a mistake is not cause of bad luck but in fact it’s a result of impatience and poor judgement period.
