The flat contact patch really has made a difference to the wheel and having a foam core reduces the slow speed vibration & noise
I just bought the Cloudwheels 120 a couple months ago so I already have the pulley kit to go with these wheels. I'll definitely be getting a set of the 120 FE to put on my Titan X. I'm guessing I'll see a slight bump in range. Can't wait to try them. Thanks for the vid!
“treating it with a little disrespect” LOL bro i love that line! 😜😜😂😂😂🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼✅✅💯💯
Just recently started ridin the 105s that came with my backfire. They were way grippier than I was picturing in my head. Good review😎💯💯
These have me interested. Every time I have eaten it on my board, I was riding the Discovery's. The SLIGHTEST bit of moisture caused my back end to kick out so fast. Heck, one time the ground was wet, I hit a small tree branch and the wheel had no traction to roll over the branch so it just turned my wheels into ice skates. I have never had an issue with the stock PU wheels I threw back on my board. Since then I have never gone back to the Discovery's.
I had 3 pairs in a row that delaminated I am not sure if it my weight but they sent me replacements each time. That was the 105mm but for some reason the 120mm is just fine and I am running them now on my 2nd pair. I am 220lbs and ride a Verreal RS and I put 1000 miles on the first pair of 120's and they were fine but the 105's for some reason just pull apart over and over but I love the feel of the cloudwheel over all.
These look really nice. I imagine a set of 120's on a Zeus Pro would be fantastic.
It's time for a new board for me again. Your last bit of info about something new coming has me intrigued. Hopefully something progressive.
Something very progressive and amazing !
As a DeckHead member I’ll shoot you a message with home pics later tonight
@scottdaviesyoutube Excellent. Thank you Scott!
*Great to see a follow up on these wheels!*
🤟🏽⚡️🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽
I'm feelin like the 120mm is the one to go for if someone is considerin FE, the 105s ain't really equal to or better than Mads or Dad Bods from what I hear so far.
These look good but how would you compare to say dadbods for feel . Thanks for your efforts Scott .
that'll give some long range with the flat tread, sacrificing the grip a little.
Scott, in other videos, what brand are the white and black knee guards are you using? Thanks!
Out of all the wheels you tested what are your top 3?
🎉🎉🎉
Hey Scott. Are you gonna do a Nomad N3 range test?
Maybe this weekend!
1:54 what's the music you've got going on? it's a banger!
How do they grip and feel compared to BOA wheels ?
That I would like to know as well Scott
Me too.
Well now I own both and I just tested the Mads v2. They definitely grip slightly better than the BOAs, and seem to absorb a bit more vibrations rolling over unperfect roads (I got the first generation of BOA 100 in 83A). However the Mads definitely make a humming/whistling noise at any speed you ride due to the whole inside them. I read that it's only happening at low speed, but trust me, at ANY speed you get this noise riding, that I think is quite annoying. BOAs definitely are quiet wheels and don't make any noise. It's hard to tell which ones I prefer in the end. If Mads didn't make the noise, I would prefer those over BOAs
@@Jason_Music I was going to ask if you could cover or block the holes . But that would defeat the purpose of them . Think I prefer quiet to comfort.
@@davidheath2427 yes I don't think this is really doable to plug or cover the holes. I'm reaching out to Brian from Madesk8 and see if maybe I got a bad batch or something, because no one is mentions this noise happening whatever the speed you go at. In any case, it's possible that the sharp lips/edges of those holes in the inside of the wheels are the one responsible for the noise they make against wind pressure. In this case maybe a simple use of a dremel to sand those edges creating a small bevel out of those holes' sharp edges could help to dampen the effect ...? I wonder... But so far yes, I do think the noise is quite annoying.
I really hope the FE stands for flat earth discovery 😂
Hahaha maybe it does
Jokes aside these do look really nice. I have put just over 600 klms on regular 120 discovery and they have gotten better as they have worn down. Not quite as flat as these yet but a noticeable change from new. Still deadly in the wet though the only real problem I have with them
Yea the OG where crazy in the wet
Flat edition
@norcaldave ohhhhh good guess
Madesk8 premade
Hey mate, what does this mean ? Sorry I don’t follow
@@scottdaviesyoutube rumour has it mad esk8 is making a complete board for sale
