I was 14 when Saturate Before Using was released. The first time I had $4.98 I went to the C&D Record Bar in Newport, KY. and bought it. I wore the grooves out of it. His music was a major part of my musical journey through this crazy good life.
Saturate Before Using was my first Jackson Browne album purchase, way back when. Still sounds just as sweet as the first time I played the LP. Thanks for all the fantastic music !
It was my first JB album as well - a gift from a friend. The name of the album is "Jackson Browne". "Saturate Before Using" is a handling instruction :)
@ Premium Kibble I am well aware of the title, and the story behind it, I have been a lifelong fan, and purchased it as a young hippie when it came out. Not only did it feature some of his greatest hits like " Doctor my Eyes ", and "Jamaica say you will ", but my favourite version of Brewer & Shipley's " Rock Me on the Water ". I had lost a friend in an accident that year and a "Song for Adam" which was his name, seemed surreal at the time.
@@dannytorrance9555 That's a big 10-4. I got it for my 20th birthday and wore it out before I turned 21. I was a big Lowell George fan so I gravitated to Love Needs a Heart. It's still my favorite track on that album, followed closely by Looking Into You. My then future wife and I saw Jackson live the following year and his songs and performances have marked the stations of our lives ever since. ACL airing on November 13th!
in 1976 age 22 I left Brooklyn New York and moved to the San Fernando valley in Southern California and played this song everyday because I was that child in the hills ... thank you Jackson
His music saved me one time in my life when I was in great pain and the pain meds made my nerves feel raw and he was the only one who could soothe my soul. This was one on the songs thank you Jackson Browne
I sing so loudly when I listen to you, that I have to listen twice and shut up the second time lol 😂 Just love your music I’ve grown up listening to you and appreciate every song Thanks for continuing to produce such joy! L
I don’t buy the “who’s the best” thing but this man for 50 years or something has been one of the very great songwriters and performers of those songs. So many of them like this one completely lift the spirit.
Thanks for your consistent love and support towards me on my page, I really appreciate and can’t thank you enough. Write me with the address above so we can have more positive conversations about music and life in general 🥂💙
He has mellowed with the years like a fine wine....or bourbon! Listen to his demo of "I've been out walking" when he was 18 and listen to him now singing "These Days". It's like a 16 year old Jackson wrote it for his senior self. The character and wisdom come through. And his voice now.....just wonderful!
First bought Saturate Before Using at 14. I am 66 now. It only took me 52 years to see JB in NOLA a few weeks ago. This song makes me think of my grandchildren and how important it is to leave a better Earth for them. Thank JB for tirelessly working to make her better for them and all the children.

Born, raised and live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC and I am a child of these hills. My family has lived here for 5 generations that I know of and I can't seem to leave them. It's sad and beautiful at the same time.
I thank the creator for this gift of a human being and music icon. We are all blessed to have this amazing man still with us along with Val to kick out such heart warming and soul searching universal music. "Long may you run," You and Val are deeply respected from this old Marine Corps Veteran.
Thank you for your authenticity, Mr. Browne. I’ve listened to you since I was 14-I’m now 59-and I’ve been grateful all along the way. I left the evangelical church at 16, and after a career as a prof in the US I’m now a prof with my family here in Japan. You were part of the inspiration for me to follow my path.
Thanks guys! I missed you at Jones Beach... that for bringing these live performances right to my living room! The continuing soundtrack of our generation ... blessings of love & light!💚
Still sounding as good as ever, JB! Thanks for keeping on after all these years. I have enjoyed your music most of my life. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Ah, the man of my youth. In an ever-changing world, what a comfort to have your songs remain in heart and hand. Thank you for the years of the songs in my head.
Omg, Val has grey hair! We are getting old, JB! I just hit 70 this year! Been listening since the beginning, my boy friend at the time bought me my first JB album, thinking 🤔 I would like it. Boy, was he right, I liked you (&still do like a renewal); & I married him49 years ago,)

I am so very excited that Jackson Browne is coming to Victoria, BC! I have always wanted to hear him in concert. I was looking all over for somewhere close enough and then lucked out when he is now coming to my home city with James Taylor.
Enjoy both of them, Wendy! I saw James in Manchester when he did the One Man Band tour, it was brilliant. I have seen Jackson in Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh where I was lucky enough to meet him at the stage door and he autographed my Late for the Sky lyric sheet I had kept for 30 plus years. He is shy, better looking than on TV and a true thoughtful gentleman. 😊
Ahh Jackson...love all your music...X running out...love your words all together...X for you to come back to OR. Missing you live, front row, piano side...till then take good care & blessings to you always...🎶🎶🎶🎹🙏❤️❤️❤️😎🥰🕊️
That was interesting watching these musicians play they’re very talented and into it and Jackson Browne makes interesting expressions as he sings this most excellent song with his lovely voice. 🌻✌️
Please put these guys in a room and do Looking East. I absolutely love your videos and music. A fan from the very beginning. A true child from these hills.
Yes, Jackson. Saw you a week ago --- the joy of that concert is still uplifting my days! P.S. You've been along in my travels, too. Unexpectedly, found your music blaring from a street corner in Casablanca! 🇲🇦
Jackson Browne and I grew up in the same town. Although he went to a different high school we all knew of him. We would try to sneak into the clubs in LA when he was playing. We'd shout out our high schools during breaks. Gave him a laugh and a smile.
You are truly one of America's greatest song writers! Like Bobby Zimmerman, and many others. I will use anything I can for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven and the power of Love. THANK YOU FOR YOUR MUSIC! Please keep Rocking Us On the Water You
If I am honest was only introduced to Jackson Browne recently through watching a Leland Sklar post on Doctor my eyes , so happy I was he now has a permanent spot on my play list , fantastic artist if life ever becomes at least a little bit more normal and he makes it to the uk I am there 😎
Jackson Browne, you're a real American Treasure. Thanks for all the fantastic music, past and present. We celebrate your entire catalog. Cheers to ya! 🤘🥃
Mr Browne, you are my all time favorite artist. I graduated high school a year after the release of Running on empty. I had it twice on lp, two cassettes and 2 CD. That song Shaky Town. What you said about blackers side was the nail on the head.I would love to hear your perspective on that today. Because to me, it seems to be even worse in a quiet deceitful way. Good to see you're still kicking.
Saw them years and years ago live in The Netherlands. Never knew he was the man behind all the soul songs that were sung by African-American singers until I bought Do Right Man. Dan Penn - a real SOUL men - never got the credits he deserves.

Im 65 today and still listening to Jackson after just short of 50 years... Lucky me!!!!
Turn 65 day after tomorrow, and still listening to the music of my youth. Rock on J.B.!
Happy Birthday to both of you!
@@tracy1000 Thank you Tracy! You are so very kind.
I’m a month older than you gents. Saturate..was my introduction as well. Blessed.
Add me to the list. I close my eyes and listen and I’m way back in time.
So glad to have Jackson putting this material out. He was my traveling partner through his music when I was young.
Mine too
