@@asmith6647 Loved the frantic four from the age of 14... and still listening to them today. Although they are not gonna play live anymore, because of the passing of Rick Parfitt and Alan Lancaster. But they are gonna be heroes in my heart forever! I am 61 today! ❤
What more do you want?? Francis is in great vocal shape, Richie is doing a GREAT job and they are all obviously enjoying it. One of the freshest Quo shows I‘ve seen in years! This group still rocks like no one else does.
A streaming music service a few months ago recommended a band called Status Quo. Flipping through the albums available, I started with "Hello!" and gave it a casual listen while driving - until I got to "Softer Ride." I thought, "Whoa, who are THESE guys?!?!?" Little did I know that I had stumbled upon the greatest band that America has never heard of. How they didn't get huge here has to be one of the most baffling things in rock history. They've sold as many albums as Pink Floyd, and yet you won't see that on the usual lists of all-time greatest-selling artists. But I found 'em, and I'm so glad I did. And that they are still around and just put out a new album makes it even sweeter. I sure hope they come to America, but I wouldn't blame them if they didn't. If they do, I'm going, wherever they are, by god. I'm going!
Unfortunately those of us from the States only know Pictures Of Matchstick Men from 1967. It was their only US hit. I remember hearing it on the jukebox at the beach. I would have been on the Quo wagon a long time ago if they had airplay here.
Quo are much maligned, even here in the UK. Accused of only having 3 chords etc. Fact is they are one of the greatest live acts you can wish to see. I kind of envy you just discovering them, you have a great journey ahead, sure there are some mis-steps but they are few and far between....enjoy the journey and if you ever get a chance go see them live...I promise you will not regret it. I've seen them a good few times, last was at Hyde Park in 2016...check that out as well...hottest day I can remember and Quo (even acoustic) rocked the place
@@paulfranklin8636 I've felt the same way about those who get to hear Led Zeppelin for the first time. I'm always on the hunt for music I've never heard before in hopes of finding the group that somehow got away, and I struck paydirt in Status Quo. They don't have a distinctive front man like Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey or Freddie Mercury. They don't have a groundbreaking lead-guitar gunslinger like Jimmy Page, Brian May or Eddie Van Halen. But the sum of their parts is like no other, and the songs kick ass and are full of surprises. They haven't been to America in a long time and are booked through 2020, so I don't know if I'll ever have a chance to see them. I did see that in the 1970s they opened in this country for acts such as ZZ Top and Aerosmith, so it's crazy to me their exposure didn't set off a firestorm. This is the kind of rock music America LOVES, but somehow Status Quo slipped through the tracks.
Mr Rossi, mr Bown, mr Edwards, mr Cave, mr Malone - chapeau bas! Best greetings from Poland. I would like You to play to the end of the world and one day later.
Am from Canada and only found this group by accident flipping through different groups online. Cannot believe their managers never helped them get to the U.S. or Canada. Great group!
Quo fans are still scratching their heads about this (and the band probably do the same at times). There's no quick and easy answer. Quo had several attempts in the US but ultimately, I think the odds just worked against them...
They toured a few times over the pond but couldn't get any radio play apparently. Some said they were too rough and ready for the sensitive ears over there at that time.
I've never enjoyed a gig more than how I enjoyed this! Rock 'n Roll🤘 Long live Status Quo! Long live Mr. Rossi, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Bown, Mr. Malone and Mr. Cave!🎸🎶 Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮 to all Quo fans!
Yep. Mightily sick of the negative comments. Stepping into Rick's shoes is like replacing Malcolm Young. I guess some people would just prefer there was no Quo at all..
Ahh. 1976, hot steamy summer nights at the Winning Post heavy rock disco doing the backbreaker to Caroline, watching the balcony MOVE at Hammersmith Odeon, dodging party sevens at Reading in '78, 7 years later seeing them them get 80,000 people on their toes from note one at Live Aid....and they're still doing it. Quo are in my blood, they were the sountrack to my life and still are. I'll be having Down Down at my funeral. RIP Rick, your spirit lives on.

The legacy of Quo certainly lives on after Alan and Rick passed away. Still hard punching. I have seen them about 12 times in Australia from 1975 on. Miss the old gritty Festival all in Brisbane where they sold out at least 3 nights. I would have loved to have seen them at the Glasgow Apollo when they recorded over 2 nights.
