    I love to read the comments of those who look to this subject, and then say something negative. So pleasant! I appreciate the amount of work it takes to build something with your own hands; you are not a machine, a factory, or Chinese! Brooder looks good to me, gave me some ideas!

    It's really very nice and price seems quite reasonable. Appreciate the work and care you've put in here.

    Yup, its a great design. 4 yrs later, I built nearly the same brooder, without seeing this video. I used a front facing door and made it twice as tall. Although, I think your 1 ft tall size is better.

    If you don't see how $350 is a fair price, you don't know much about woodworking. Take a closer look at the construction: every joint is a mortise and tenon glued together. The tolerances look fantastic as well. This is a heirloom piece of furniture.
    With that said, I would probably just build it cheaper and faster by using screws/nails. There are a lot of ways to improve and modernize the design as well (low wattage safer ceramic heating panels, PID controller, full acrylic construction, etc), and end up at about the same price.

    Nice design do you still sell them? The website seems down and hard to find info. Do you sell plans if not?

      I can see where you might think you'd rather build this brooder yourself than pay $350 for it, but doubt you'd find a comparable brooder for less. Imagine the cost of materials and time to build the brooder. Then ask yourself how much you'd want to make per hour of labor if you were to build and sell these. I'm guessing that if you did the math, you'd find the price quite reasonable. This guy is definitely not getting rich manufacturing these.

    Hi. will the bulbs adjust automatically according to the needed temperature?

      No way. But since the whole system is open, the warm air can circulate out. And if chicks are too warm, they just go further away from the lamps.

    Build your own for much much cheaper you don’t need any of the extras included you probably already have or buy separately nice design but very basic. Can build out of free pallets easily

      Try building it with the same quality and selling it for less than $350. You'll be living below the poverty line.

    wood chips are not good for gut development to poultry,how ever do you increase temp and how do you clean it?

    • @ritcheymt
      @ritcheymt 4 роки тому

      I was thinking the same thing about cleaning. I'm looking for a design with a tray. I've raised chickens, rabbits, and turkeys before. Cleaning sucks. Maybe the idea at ua-cam.com/video/JXcpgqpo9Qs/v-deo.html has some merit that could be used at smaller scale.

    WoW! 350$? I can make fully automatic/computerized brooder, with perfect environment for the chicks! How much is it going to sell for??

      You are my hero. I am certain you can build your own fully automatic/computerized brooder, with perfect environment, that is why you are making that comment here. Please link your video.
