I've heard borlas s-types with stock air intake, and still have cat's the exhaust is loud and deep enough you don't hear the turbo spooling usually it sounds more like a v6, pretty good
To those talking shit, I would reserve judgement until your heard one in person. You should all know that recordings KILL any sense of low end sound in an exhaust recording. Even if you hate 4 cylinders, I would bet a large amount of money you would like it better in person than in this video.
Gt sounds nice wont lie but I got my 2016 ecoboost and its perfect its not like you gunna use all the horsepower the gt provides either way unless you race on tracks. Ecoboost best way to go
+Daftpunk4627 You should get it but premium! the gas is great. it last me about a week and a half and you only need like 24 dollars to fill up the tank. i love the car!
I'm sold on the attack I just don't have an EcoBoost mustang yet... I'm wondering if that is the sound of the attack exhaust with the stock resonator install? because I know each of these exhausts would sound way more aggressive if you removed the factory resonator and put a y-pipe there the touring will be probably twice as loud the S-Type will be twice as loud then the attack will probably be like straight pipe
The systems in the video are Cat-Back systems which replace the stock exhaust components from the front resonator all the way back to the rear mufflers and tips. The S-Type and ATAK include a Y-Pipe. Our Touring includes a Borla front resonator as it is our mildest sound level.
does any of these add performance horse power quicker acceleration or is it all about the sound? update: I just had the ford performance touring axel back exhaust put on today and I have to say the look is nice at the rear bigger pipes but the sound is only slightly louder than the factory exhaust they're cool and nice looking but if i had a do over i would've went with the sport instead of touring for a little more aggressive sound i didn't because i figured the sport might be too loud as i hate that fart can sound of the many Hondas and whatever other smaller cars people like to trick out just recommending for other mustang ecoboost drivers go with the sport Ford performance if your worried about the warranty if not the rosch exhaust sounds pretty good too
@@dcar7446 yeah I was thinking because I watched another video where somebody put a flowmaster outlaw and it didn't really sound all that great but then they took the resonator off and I guess flowmaster has a y pipe and it sounded really loud like not as good as a borla but it was like 50% louder. So I can imagine if somebody bought the borla attack and then took the resonator off later it would just be like if you just had a muffler delete and a resonator delete
+Music Chain It actually kinda of funny... i love the v8 but it seems like they are starting to become obsolete. The new Ford GT is now a V6 turbo engine, and thats hands down the best sports car made by Ford.
+Darkmorningsun i agree...however to drive the ecoboost Mustang i have to admit that it's a wonderful car...many sensations...you drive a real true sports car...so that'why i think V8 will disappear.
Music Chain Couldn't agree more. And the people with the V6 Mustangs are funny. They do realize our Ecoboosts are faster in every way, but doesn't sound as good?😂😂 Not to mention you can tune and upgrade Eco's so much more with great potential. Ecoboost is my first car with turbo/ boost and absolutely love it. I will always have a car with turbo now after finally owning one.
i agree, bought the v8 2005 with racing ford exhaust in 2010.....Great car ! But, in 2018......failure !! I'm european, gas price is very high now and eco boost seems to be the best way to use it everyday. i agree too, one day all the v6 v8 will disappear.....Times are changing
Don't listen to the haters lol a V8 sounds different than a V6 and an I4. Just because you don't like boosted engines doesn't mean it sounds bad. I think the V8 sounds fantastic but so does the I4 Atak all day
Are the differences similar on the S-type active valve exhaust version? Also, will the catback version attach to a CVF downpipe? My 2019 Ecoboost is equipped with the active valve exhaust system and I am interested in the version of the S-type Borla makes for these versions. Part # for references: 140827BC. I had the S-type system on my full-bolt-on 2014 V6 with an X-pipe and absolutely loved it.
Hi! The differences won't be as drastic as the stock Active Exhaust is more aggressive than the non-active exhaust. However, our S-Type Active Exhaust will still provide a noticeable difference. It will still be louder and have a fuller sound compared to the factory Active Exhaust. Unfortunately, we aren't able to guarantee a direct fitment with aftermarket downpipes. We develop our Cat-Back systems using stock vehicles. You may or may not need an adapter.
@@borla Thanks! The CVF downpipe comes with a reducer to fit with the stock Y-pipe on active valve exhaust, so looks like it should work. The factory active valve system is already pretty great, just looking for a little extra fullness to the sound.
+rock199158 No, the exhaust routes very differently due to the difference between the old Live Axle and the new IRS. Just compare 2011-2014 underside pics to 2015 underside pics to see the difference yourself. You can do what I did, if you want. Buy a GT exhaust and weld in off the shelf steel tube reducers where necessary. Could pay a shop to do this/install the exhaust, maybe run $80-200.
+Nick Radloff I mean it has a turbo, you cant really avoid that fact or the sound lol. The more free flowing it gets, the more you hear it. I like to think of it the opposite of you, if you cant clearly hear spool and boost, you are trying to hard to cover it up. Its a performance car with a turbo, let it breathe!
Thanks for reaching out to us! The Ford Performance systems are built according to Ford's specifications. They are not the exact same systems. However, they will sound fairly similar overall.
Could Borla ATAK exhaust system fit into Ford Mustang ecoboost from UK(right hand drive) ? Are the US mustang ecoboost(left hand drive) had the same exhaust system with the UK mustang ecoboost(right hand drive)?
im more concerned about cabin drone the low sounding humm drove me near insanity do any of these have drone i plan on doing the whole pack the air intake teh tune 3 inch down paie and a catback would i have drone ?
Thank you for your interest. Our axle-back and cat-back systems do not drone, however, we can only guarantee against drone with our systems. If you plan to perform other modifications, especially regarding the exhaust system, we cannot guarantee against drone.
Borla you really did try and gave it your best shot, but my goodness the 2.3 sounds just horrid. IMO the ATAK is OK but that is about it. My how the 3.7 sounds SOOOO much better!
The touring sounds pretty good, maybe with a downpype? Hmmm interesting Borla we see you. Btw how many of you EcoBoost haters have a 15-18 5.0? It better be stick btw, and have the mods I want on it or its crap. What happened to love? The mustang is a pony car not a muscle car. Pony cars are cheap aesthetic with performance for the younger car enthusiast.
Even with Borla exhaust the EcoBoost still sounds bad. I test drove a 2015 EcoBoost and with the mods I have on my 2012 v6 it was a huge downgrade. even though my new car is faster than my 2009 GT it sounds pretty similar with the exhaust I have but EcoBoost I think maybe they need to keep playing tuned exhaust sound through the speakers if that's actually true I couldn't tell while test driving it. maybe it needed upgraded speakers because pretty much any of the Ford audio systems need at least a speaker upgrade
Nice exhausts but soooo expensive. AM has the atak at $782! Flowmaster outlaw at $428. Thats a huge price difference. For axel backs they should really be no more than $550 imo.
Flowmaster also drones like crazy (fact) and sounds worse (subjective) and also has a worse build quality (fact). Not having drone on my daily driven mustang was the most important deciding factor for me besides the sound of the exhaust in general.
It sound like a minivan ... sorry borla but for that mustang i dont belive that it wourth working hard to build new a cat-back Best regards from a borla owner
+Rick Nethery Its a turbo 4 cylinder, there is no way around that. Price or quality of the exhaust doesn't change much at all. Simple fact, some people do not like the sound of a boosted engine, period.
Heard one heard them all, still sounds like a cracker jack, Borlas are overpriced, stick with the OEM if you like hearing music while driving, otherwise have at it, that drone will make a daily commute a nightmare. 😅🤣😂
Good that they didn't tried to make it sound like something that it isn't. It simply sounds like a great inline 4. :)

I ilke the ATAK. Sounds very agressive for an 4banger. If I purchase an ecoboost Stang here in Germany, this exhaust would be my choice.
Which is the best exhaust for a moderate burble tune for a refined sound
