Anything but stock sounds better. But I'm leaning towards the race series, for my new 2018 EcoBoost. Found some really good deals at American Muscle.
Buying the same soon was looking to see the upgrades on the exhaust also the body.

Sounds great - louder than stock, but not too loud. Your Mustang will benefit from a more free flowing exhaust, and it only costs around $600.
I might fuck around and get the race series along with putting a few holes in it along the pipes 😮
Street Series sounds perfect for this engine. The Race Series doesn't sound bad, but it's a bit too "import" sounding. Obviously, both are better than stock.

I have the Ecoboost Mustang, and I have been trying to find an exhaust for it and this is the best one I have found so far. All the other ones that I have found sound like a Honda lol. I'm very impressed with this one and probably going to get this exhaust.

Yup, it's a 4 cylinder. And it's smoking 3 valves, mopars, and a lot of others. They gotta breath.
Brand-X crazy how this has more horsepower than my 2004 mustang GT 2 valve stock for stock. But I love the sound of a V8 always
bill jones I have an eco boost myself and it is quick and sounds decent but your right it will never sound like a v8

if you want to circuit race a mustang the turbo is the way to go its lighter and better balanced and will run circles around the v8s all day in most cases
i mean i still smoke ecoboosts in my 07 3.5 v6 🤷🏽♂️
MBRP sound setting is the best option for the Ecoboost. Of course as it won't match the V8's sound by any means but owners can enjoy sound close to the GT's roaring bass without worrying about gas prices.
I am more impressed with fact he didn’t spin that thing out when shifting and that turn a damp road. So many times I’ve dropped the clutch with the wheels turned and had back end step out.
race def sounds the best.. may be best ive heard on the car.. i think the stock intake is really what makes it sound so much like a rug vacuum tho...

tommy d u b b s I have a crazy set up with mine. I should probably post it so people can get an idea of what a ecoboost with a catless Cpe downpipe with a rough CAI, custom tune, mishimoto intercooler, MBRP race series catback sounds like. I had so much Airflow going through that it blew my midpipe off 😂 I had them welded so it never happens, and that will eliminate any leaks.

The difference is the finish, warranty and grade of metal. XP is polished T409 stainless steel. BLK is aluminized steel with a black powder coat finish. Check out our web site for more info.

I like the ecoboost Mustang. I know when buying a Mustang the V8 is what you want but the ecoboost is a nice alternative if the V8 is to expensive for those on a slightly tighter budget.
I bought my ecoboost for 42k fully loaded instead of a v8 simply because I wanted a 4 banger mustang to try and cram 600-700hp into it😅

As much as I been looking at exhaust this really is the only one I've liked along with the Ford racing by borla at the end of the day it's 4 cylinders and that's what it will always be. Still undecided to get exhaust or just leave it stock
I'm in the same boat, looking at the MBRP Street or the Ford Performance Touring. Something quieter than their Race counterparts. I'm leaning the MBRP though. The Ford Performance Touring sounds a little more raw, and is a little quieter. I like this sound more since it seems to maintain it's deepness throughout the RPM range. It's also half the price, which helps

Still sounds like a Civic. All the dealer had to do was remote start the 5.0 I was standing next to. Drove home with it.
I do love all the shit talk about the ecoboost. My friends GTR which has a mild v6 puts out way more power than most v8's and handles amazingly. Sometimes it's not all about how many cylinders you have, it's about how it's tuned and the parts inside. Let's use the Supra MKIV as an example. V6, puts out over 1,000 horsepower modified. Stupid dumb power not needed by anyone.

I wanted to see if you could have the illusion of a v8 if you choose the ecoboost (for economic reasons) - it sounds like most tuner cars instead in my opinion. I really like this concept but on the other hand I would've liked full on muscle - I suppose if you want true muscle then you have to deal with the poor mpg and co2 emissions as part of the experience
WUT?! As a 4 cylinder and same engine am not going to lie it sounds better than the RS at high revs, RS sounds like 4 cylinder and this sounds like v6

you really worked out a decent exhaust system, an engine like that will never truly sound any good to me, (strictly performance-wise the EcoBoost is great though!) but you managed to get quite a raspy and decent sound out of it.
My race exhaust for my 2019 will be here tomorrow, I’m excited for it. 🤩
Did you get it on yet? How’s it sound? I have a 2019 also. I’ve been going back and forth on so many different ones I just can’t decided. Was leaning towards magna flow competition and then I saw mbrp race and it’s half the cost and sound is very similar

I tossed on a Flow Master axelback, and added a Resonator delete, sounds the best you are going to get with a 4 cylinder. To be honest go for the V8 and have at it.

Ok, I know it’s a 4-cylinder engine in a American pony car. But you have to think not everyone can afford the GT or can handle the insurance of the v6. Especially for the teens who want a mustang but not the hefty insurance prices for the v6 or v8. And with 310 horsepower rwd you can’t complain.
Which I might add I see a lot of people with civic pictures talking shit about this car. Just have fun with that 200 horsepower, and the civic type R which costs more than this has less horsepower and weighs only a couple hundred pounds less(also fwd)
I recently got a 2015 eco boost and love it. I’m 18, insurance is around 200
Affordability isn't the only reason to choose one engine over the other. I drove both and connected better with the 2.3T. Felt nimbler around twisty roads. Also, whenever I have a need for a V8, I can always drive my 09 RC420S.
No doubt about it, the coyote engine is a symphonic marvel. At the end of the day, though, the type of driving I enjoy was better satisfied by the little turbo 4 banger that could!
I’m heading off to college and during breaks it’s a 400mi drive home. Plus I’m young so it makes perfect sense with the insurance and gas mileage while still having something fun to drive

I just got the MBRP race for my ecoboost, the system is different than what they show on the site, it has extra joints that need clamps and it sounds very different outside of the car than these and many other videos I watched before choosing it. The fitment is poor as well, I haven't been able to install the tips because they hit the bumper on the inside edges. Taking it to a custom exhaust shop for the second time tomorrow to see if they can adjust it enough to make it fit :\

On a 4 cylinder Mustang you want the exhaust note to be as stealthy and as muted as possible. I have an Ecoboost and I enjoy just hearing the turbo woosh . No need to announce to the world that you drive a 4 cylinder

did the dyno those HP and torque gains at the end there or what? i've never seen anywhere else claim they add that much power.
Those numbers are proven through our dyno process that includes running the vehicle five different times at different temperatures and averaging the results which is a lot fairer than the industry-standard practice.

I just did the cat back MBRP Race exhuast. Anyone have warranty issues with that? I heard any exhaust work they deny everything.
TVMDC its up to the dealer and the issue you are having.
Lol pretty sure it's illegal for them to deny warranty work if all you have is a custom exhaust.

Race has drone for sure, its 3inch tubing doesn't help either. The magnaflow competition doesnt have drone.

Is the race series legal in california?
Curious how loud the race will sound on the convertible, with the roof down. The videos make the Street sound louder than the Race, perhaps because it is a higher frequency. I've also noticed that CJPony says OK for convertible, but Americanmuscle says it will not fit convertible. Is the diameter of this exhaust (3 inch) equal to the diameter of the catalytic converter output? .
