    Sheer brilliance. Ian Carmichael, a true gentleman and marvellous actor, along with the utter perfection of the finest double act ever. (In my opinion).

    Ian Carmichael - what a wonderful actor he was - and an utterly superb narrator of Lord Peter Winsey and PG Wodehouse. (And what a lovely man, too) As for Morecambe and Wise, they were the epitome of british comedy at its gentlest and most splendid.

    What a perfect gentleman - such a patient, well mannered lovely man - wish I could have known him in real life. Excellent - wonderful as wimsy and also the classic I'm alright Jack - he seems to be as aristocratic in real life as he the roles he constantly played in films and tv.

      Tommy Cooper was in a locked contract with Thames Television, and so when they were at the BBC he could not appear. When they moved to Thames, Tommy was not interested in appearing with them, as he felt he would not suit their show.

    • @johnking5174
      @johnking5174 3 роки тому +2

      Which I hate. He is simply copying the mannerisms of Eric. There is a difference between taking aspects of someone and styling it in your own way and just a pure copy act which Ant has done. Also, I don't think Eric would be amused with Ant.

    Even though this was very funny, I can understand why Eric and Ernie never really had huge success in America, as Eric's style of talking was way too fast. I found him at times hard to understand. He would need to slow down a tiny bit. They appeared on Ed Sullivan many times, but never ever adapted for the American audience, which was a mistake.
