    Yep , I have a similar sized garage . Uninsulated 24 x 26 with one 16 ft insulated door so I think I should get about the same performance as what you do . Thanks Carlos . Peace from S.W. Michigan .

    I am back with the review! Thank you to everyone who watched the first one and engaged with the video! Let me know if you have any further questions, I'll answer them in the comments below! ALSO a viewer said this for the length of time it lasts "my opinion... 20lb tank will run for a total of about 70 hours time on low setting...'' I use it for 1-2 hours at a clip mostly at max setting to get me through my workout. So I cannot vouch for this but thought I would include this.

    I have a detached garage with my gym that I have been frying my brain trying to figure out a solution to heat. This was a pretty thorough review and It seem like a great option but I have seen other reviews on this heater that talked about the soot buildup over time and that has me concerned. If it builds up on the walls it will be in your lungs. It is cheap and easy though so it's still tempting.

      We have one of these units running in a portion of a garage we converted to an office. We've been running it for 2 years now and I can tell you that the build-up is very minimal. Almost unnoticeable. Hope that helps you with your decision making. Very efficient and doesn't have to run very often to keep the space warm.

      @@darrenweimann2524 Thanks for the feedback. Since I would only heat it to work out I just decided to get a gym membership in the winter months. Properly Insulating a 25x25 garage is just too much coin in these crazy times, all just to keep me warm a couple hrs a week. Maybe in the future.

    Great review. This is the first year I'm painting furniture in my garage and the winter is around the corner. Wondering if It's safe to paint with this heater on? Maybe brush and roll ,but I don't know about spraying? Just looking at your leg press gives me nightmares! Had a double hernia operation back in the early 2000's because of that machine ( finally trying to get my legs bigger..ha) right now I'm seeing a Dr because they might have to rip the mesh out and redo both sides because I'm having issues with them! Ugh. Be careful buddy!

    I'm really considering getting this heater but I'm a little on the fence because of the propane tank...I'm paranoid as fuck..i can't seem to find anything I can use to heat my big garage since I have no gas lines in my garage..all these electric heater say they can heat up 1k sq ft but i highly doubt it...i might have to bite the bullet and get this heater..thanks for all the info it was very helpful..

      Hey Gomez! I appreciate you watching the video. I completely understand your worries. As that is why I tried every other option before finally pulling the trigger on this. The electrical radiating ones will take too long to heat up the space which will cause your electricity bill to sky rocket. I learned the hard way lol. To be safe have a few carbon monoxide detectors, a fire extinguisher, and always keep a crack in the window or door. I think of the carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher as cough medicine. I hope I never have to use any of those, but if I do, I know I have them to alert me and help the situation. I am sure you will be okay as these were designed to be used indoors. Peace love and positivity - Carlos

    loveddd the last video!!! it helped out s lot and im going to go the heater today butt I did want to ask I have a 5 gsllon propane tank and will that connective piece work the same ?
    I do nails from my garage and ugh i hate working in the cold I had a propane patio tank that I would use and just crack the bottom of the garage but It's getting too cold to do that. Now I have multiple little space heaters and its not working either. Im going to try this and insulate my garage door and see if that works!!

    Heya - do you think i could heat my workshop with this OFF GRID, from a solar power generator? How much power does it draw? I can generage about 800 watts a day in the winter on a bad day, and have 2000 watts to start.

    • @darrenweimann2524
      @darrenweimann2524 Рік тому

      This uses propane, not electricity. We have an off grid cabin in the woods as well, and all heat is propane. Just lighting and a few outlets for charging phones with electric. Our system is 1200 watts.

    So by now you have realized those heaters are expensive to run, add tons of moisture to the room and not to mention they are non vented so you are breathing the products of combustion. Like sucking on a cars tailpipe.
    Propane is $2.37 a gallon in my area. Your appliance is dedicated propane only. If you want natural gas , that is a different model.
    The egg smell is raw gas, you have a gas leak. Another downside of propane is it is heavier than air and it settles to the lowest area.
    It may "work" for you but it is the absolute last unit I would ever pick.
    Your moisture issue like I mentioned earlier is more severe than you realize. Watch for mold growth. If you need a dehumidifier how efficient is this whole setup?

    • @carlosistribe
      @carlosistribe  2 роки тому +17

      Hi Phil! I appreciate the opportunity to discuss this. I will preface this by saying, your interpretation of my own view on this is setup is highly inaccurate. 1) The byproduct of the ventless heater is what it is. As long as you have a way to circulate, and vent, it’s safe. That’s irrefutable. Sure is it better than breathing in fresh air from the alpines, probably not. But that’s not my goal. My goal is to heat this room up for an hour or two a day. So it is nothing like sucking on a tailpipe of a car. That is extremely exaggerated and a hyperbole at its least. 2) I went over cost of propane, makes sense for me in my area. 3) the smell, yes, I went over what it is and how to check for it. Your car has brakes that can fail, but I’m sure you get them check and replaced to keep that from happening. Just because something can theoretically happen, doesn’t mean one can’t practice responsible ownership of their belongings. 4) I understand the physics of it being heavier which is why I went a little overboard with the two fans and 3 detectors. But before the propane itself does any minimal short term inconveniences, you’ll know it before hand. 5) moisture isn’t a big deal for me, like I said. It’s minimal and the venting/circulation has kept any mold from happening. 6) if one does need a humidifier, it’s perfectly normal and okay. Could be their preference or can be their budget short term budget. For me this set up is efficient in its costs and practicality. I’d make the same move if I had to do it over again. I say all of this with a kind heart and no ill feelings. We can agree to disagree. And that’s more than okay with me. I’m here to help share my experiences, help save someone their time/money, and learn something myself through the community. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and engage with me, Phil.
      Peace, Love, and Positivity - Carlos.

      Come on man...this is NOT the same as "sucking on a cars tailpipe" lets bring it down a notch....if that were the case these would be illegal but I get what you're getting at. I wish LP was that cheap where I'm at...ours is about $3.70 a gallon ($17ish for 20lb tank exchange) and I use them for my torpedo heater for when I work in garage on my cars. I know he stated in another comment that his tank lasts maybe 60-70 hours on low so maybe 15-20 hours full tilt making it about a buck an hour give or take. if I go with an electric 4000 watt modest heater (around $200ish, roughly the same he paid for his heater) it would cost me $0.40 ish an hour on my electric bill but i already have a 240v line to use unlike Carlos and that's also half the output. So for ME LP or electric would be roughly the same cost for roughly the same output. My natural gas is WAY cheaper in comparison so cost wise I would do a NG heater which would cost me roughly $0.12 per hour to run so 8-10 times less for the same output.
      "It may "work" for you but it is the absolute last unit I would ever pick."
      In all seriousness what would you go with then since this is the "absolute" last thing you would pick?
