Seems like RJ has finally figured it out and I’m so happy he has. I know it’s only been 2 games this season but for anyone that has been paying attention he has really been consistent for months already leading me to believe he’s here to stay. RJ was great in the playoffs, great in FIBA and now it’s carrying over into the season. It also seems like he finally knows his place on the team. With the addition of Brunson last year we often saw him trying to figure out his role throughout the season and during game 3 against the Cavs in the playoffs I believe he has found it. I’m loving this new confidence.

He’s done that from 3 before too. Just he got the idea of taking it to the basket on every play too much last year. When you round out your game, you can take what the defense gives you and let them pick their poison. Wherever they give you space or you earn the space, you kill them for it.

Well the good thing is, this is THE MOST sustainable I’ve ever seen RJ’s game look. In the past, His game was just iffy as fuck, relying on tough fade away layups and tough shots in general which is why he was so inconsistent, he’d have 3 good games followed by 3 bad ones and that was his problem. now, he’s going into the contact in the paint, not fading away from it, he’s pump faking and drawing fouls, and shooting a few midranges a game, this type of playstyle just looks so much more sustainable than in the past.

Love the fact he's rounding out his game instead of being the "Analytical 3s and layups".
If a defense knows your either shooting the 3 or driving to the paint then their jobs is already done. Adding that Mid Range pull up keeps the defense unaware until the shot goes up.

RJ Barrett has to be untouchable when it comes to potential trades, idc if embiid is the target, good things happen when Barrett handles the rockl and his shooting looks like it's improved. Him and Brunson are great being the primary ball handlers for this team! Just need more shooters and rim runners/rollers to put around them.

@@s.k.o.e.2191 that’s fine. Brunson isn’t a top 10 guard in the league to me. Shai, Steph, Kyrie, Trae Young, Devonte Murray, D Fox, Morant, T Halliburton, Lamelo, Tyrese Maxey, Jamaal Murray and Brogdon are better than him to name a few. And if you want to put some of these players as combo guards I understand BUT Grimes is playing out of position so Brunson can be showcased at the 2. I didn’t want to go at a player on our roster but we’ve been sold a bill a goods by this front office that’s unacceptable. Don’t tell me you’re bringing Superstars and give me Brunson and Hart. I gotta root for my team because it’s my team. We should be allowing RJ, Quickly and Grimes to develop, fire Thibs and get a offensive minded coach who can utilize strategies to put our players in the best position. 2nd round exits with Randle and Brunson means the East is weak to me
