    Thanks so much for your reply. It’s still temperamental at the moment but will see if I can find somewhere local to see what they can do!

    Very helpful video. Thank you. Do you know if the screw is a M2 thread or the screw dimensions.

    Hello! My ignis key started being temperamental so assumed it was the battery. Used your video to see how to do it. The inside of my key is very ‘sticky’ and only the lock button really ‘clicks’. I’m worried about damaging it. What would you suggest? I’ve put back together and still only the lock button clicks, not the unlock button. Where should I take it to sort please? Thanks, Tracey 😊

    • @TheCarKeyMan
      @TheCarKeyMan  8 місяців тому

      Hi Tracey, sorry just seen this. Well this style of key just wears out I'm afraid. The switches delaminiate and stop clicking correctly, plus the rubbers wear and get mishaped. You need a local Auto Locksmith to see if they can repair or replace

    I have an ignis 2002 bought with a remote key (1). It won’t open or close remotely though. I tried some procedures online to pair/match it without success(door sensor 3 times etc.). Does the ignis have something special that needs dealer attention? I’m from the Netherlands.

    • @TheCarKeyMan
      @TheCarKeyMan  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, I would say the first thing you need to do is find out whether the key is sending out a signal. Your local key cutting shop should have a gadget that shows if the key is transmitting

    • @rikdol
      @rikdol 4 роки тому +1

      The Car Key Man the thing is that the car’s locking mechanism doesn’t respond to the procedure. It doesn’t auto lock to announce it’s in ‘pairing’ mode. Most of the procedures I’ve found are either for different types of Suzuki’s or not the same year.. is there a specific ignis procedure that you might know of? And thanks for replying :)

    Hi, I don t have any key , I mean both of the Key wasted. can I bye the peir of key and install it, or most just to Opel workshop?

    • @TheCarKeyMan
      @TheCarKeyMan  4 роки тому

      Hi Sam. If both keys are faulty, then you will probably need a new key. We looked at fixing these, but the internal switches are poor quality and tricky to swap. Try and find a local Auto Locksmith to help you

    I'm still in desperate need of the destructions for the ford focus fob case replacement, I've got a new case already but is there a chip I've got to dig out ? The key /spring mechanism doesn't work on either of my keys most of the time now, it's either jammed shut, or locked open... Do I just have to get violent with the old case and swap the main board over ? (and swap out the key itself)

      Hi Colin, sorry did you ask this before ? There is a way to open them but we haven't made the video yet. What year is the Focus please?

    Hi
    Good Vid BUT no clips to open inner battery pod on my 2012.

  • @nigelholmes9332

    the Calsonic-Kansei T61M0 module appears to be sealed, i.e. no clips as on the Omron module.
    I'm toying with the idea of prising it open, replacing the battery and then sealing with a weak glue like nail varnish & a gentle clamp. sounds reasonable? any known pitfalls with the CK module? cheers

    • @TheCarKeyMan
      @TheCarKeyMan  3 роки тому

      Hi Nigel, well we see a lot of keys that are stuck back together with glue. It depends if you are keeping the car. If you need to change the key battery again, say in two years, you will have problems. Other than that, just go light on the glue

      @@TheCarKeyMan yes certainly keeeping the Ignis (great little vehicle) and expect to change the key battery again so will go lightly. a couple of tiny drops of nail varnish where the clips should've been! Thanks for the helpful video.

    • @TheCarKeyMan

      Hi, did they used to work? Or have you bought the car with a dodgy key?

    • @abb_123
      @abb_123 5 років тому

      @@TheCarKeyMan yes the worked fine. My mum bought the car 11 years ago... I teared the key apart and i saw that the Buttons itself broke in 2 pieces, when i put them back together they're fine for about a day, then they stop working again.

    • @TheCarKeyMan
      @TheCarKeyMan  3 роки тому

      Hi Lorraine, there are a couple of basic problems with these keys. The buttons lose their shape and then don't press down on the switch underneath correctly.
      On top of this, the electronic switches are terribel, they fall apart and need to be replaced.
