- I have had Porsche GT3RS on order for nearly 2 years and finally took delivery a week ago.
My Porsche salesman told me very specifically to handle the "break in" period of this car with care. I took that advice seriously. With less than 300 miles on the dash of my Porsche 992 911 GT3RS, I did exactly what good owners do, breaking it in with constant redlining, drifting, burnouts, and donuts.
Thanks to the Godfrey's , Chanler and Greg, they were kind enough to let us use their drift pad to break the car in. It worked wonderfully.

Totally different cars. For everyday, the Dakar. For track and racing, the GT3 RS.

Ron you are one SICK mofo!! break-ins periods are bullshit. if the engine is not built correctly you will know in the first 50 miles. a screw is going to back in a day a 9000rpm. a crank journal that wasn't torqued to spec will rear it ugly head the first 50 miles without question. Porsches are still built with some robotic equipment. especially thing that are set to torque bolts and install parts that if they fail they were going to fail whether or don't you tried to literally kill the rev limiter upon every use. you're my f-ing hero sir!! cheers

Glad ur driving it right but actually just break it in for 500 miles, get someone to drive it boring for you for a while and then do this shit, dont be bitching if it breaks, and also god help the next mf that buys it.
I don’t believe in break ins. Every mechanic I’ve ever spoken to says it’s BS.
to this day I don't understand why every rich American has no understanding and respect for the break-in process. Don't they understand that it has a mechanical and technical reason, so you don't hurt the car/engine ?!

As someone that has built a few engines from the ground up, I can confidently say "The engine is already 'broken in' by the time it hits the dealership". The whole 500 mile break-in period is just a stupid insurance policy for the dealers.
