In traditional cooking of Chikkad chole, 1/4 part is safed mater together with 3/4 of safed chane. The thickness or chikkad is due to mater which completely dissolves on being boiled with chane and forms the base of gravy. Using boiled alu doesn't give the same effect.

Its Super taste . All my full family is shocked how its so tasty and like north Indian punjabi most important recipe . All over the world this item every hotel will have .
But nothing taste like your way of doing this.

Hey Shilpi....Thank you for the amazing recipe, it was so simple n quickly made...I tried this today n it turned out extremely tasty... everyone liked it ❤️ I have one suggestion for tadka. After putting ginger garlic paste into oil, you can grind khade masale along with boiled chana n potato then add this to the pan & let it cook on slow heat. Lastly add Kasturi methi... believe me it will add more charm to this .. last but not the least Thank u for the beautiful n easy recipe ❤️ Waise I love to watch all your recipes whenever I get time.

Thanks for sharing nice recipe👍 I think for ur knowledge is that the word "Chikad" is a punjabi word!! Which means "Keechad" or "Gara" in hindi. It means the gravy of the recipe is as thick as "keechad"!!

हैलो शिल्पी जी। मैने बहुत पहले समीर गुप्ता जी की छोलों की रेसिपी देखी थी और मुझे याद है उस में उन्होंने इमली का इस्तेमाल किया था और आखिर में बारिक कटा हुआ कच्चा प्याज डाला था। और कोई लहसुन प्याज का छोंक नही था। आप छोलों की एसी रेसिपी बताएं।
