Thanks for your videos - helped me immensely after i had to do a full reset bc old homeowner didnt know codes. Im up and running but before when id open a door- the LCD would read WHICH zone was an open circuit (front door, kitchen door etc) but now even after ive programmed everything with their respective names- i have to scroll with the arrows to see Which zone is open. Can you help me get that old mode back so when a zone is "open" it actually reads that on my screen without all the added steps? I really appreciate anything you could help me with.

Have a system with 7 motions. System was fine for two days then went off and had a cross zone trouble and hasn’t been working correctly since. Any tips?

Hi, Your videos are very helpful and informative. Could you make a video of PSTN receiver programming with DSC power series neo system.

I will add it to our list. That is one area that our general tech support doesn't mess with though. Only our central station setup people get in those areas and they only do it via DLS rather than via keypad programming.

Can I have my pgm port be programmed to flash a strobe as a warning during arming delay

Hello, if I just want to swap out an existing button panel with the compatible touch screen, will I be required to do all the programming as demonstrated in the video ?

The only programming you will need to do will be to enroll the new keypad. If you are planning to get rid of the LCD keypad you currently have, then you will need to enroll the new keypad by attaching it to a short wire at the panel, then delete the current keypad. All of this will be done in section 902, but you will not have to do any other programming.

What programming can’t be done with the touch screen keypads, and requires the alpha keypads? I only have the touch screen keypads. Are water wireless water sensors available that are compatible with the DSC NEO 900 MHz wireless transceiver? Are wireless microwave / PIR motion detectors available for the DSC NEO? How effective are the DSC Neo wireless glass break detectors? Are the glass break detectors vulnerable to false alarms?

So far, the only programming issues we've run into with the touchscreens has to do with programming ESN's for wireless key fobs. We're still testing when time allows to see what else may be an issue on the touchscreens. As for wireless water sensors there is the PG9985 flood sensor. The PG9984p is the dual technology wireless motion that uses PIR and microwave detection. And the PG9922 wireless glassbreaks are very reliable, the range is 20ft line of sight, and they operate by looking for the sound frequency of breaking glass, not just a loud noise so they are much less prone to false alarms than older model glassbreak sensors. The PowerG line of wireless sensors for the DSC NEO is the best in market currently.

I also had an Issue I believe I had to Use a Non Touchscreen Keypad do to The Touchscreen not able to go to smoe Wireless Data Fields, but this was a PC1832 and PTK 5507 Touch Screen. Very Simular. Don't know how that Issue Slipped by them?

Do you have a programming tutorial for Dsc2550 ? I had to reset EEPROM due to no installer’s code. Thanks

We do not. That system has been discontinued for about 25 years now.

Used The Power Series for Years, the 1832 and 1864. Before that, The PC 5010.
Since they Are phasing them Out, Going to the Neo. Programming appears? Easier than what I'm seeing on the Neo.
Looked at a couple Neo Video's and have yet to see Defaulting Keypad if Installer code has been changed. I forget but Basically remove all power, Short 1 of the PGM's to ground, maybe while Powering up, I forget Exact procedure.
If previous Company Programmed Installer Code not Defaultable. You can't even Default it. You can get a Panel Unlocker, so you wouldn't need to Reprogram From Scratch.
Is their a Procedure to Default Installer Code, if Current Code is Unknown? Thanks

Neo programming is almost identical to 1832. Locations are the same, though you can tell subsections on the Neo much easier than you could on the older series.
Defaulting panel is same too, Z1 jumper to PGM1. If you're trying PGM to ground that doesn't work for either series.

The biggest by far is the new PowerG wireless. It's light years ahead in performance and security of anything else.

Sound like you're running into swinger shutdown possibly. Swinger resets after each arming cycle so in practical use this isn't an issue usually and commonly noticed in testing only. It can be disabled but I don't know the sections off hand. Look in the manual for "Swinger Shutdown" for further details.

Mine does not show text.. It seemly works if I blindly enter codes. I go from a flashing hand/keypad and a redlock to a green check mark if I enter 902 000 for example but I do not visably get any text feedback nor do I get menus I can cycle through. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Sounds like you have the cheaper icon lcd pad. You really need the programmable alpha pad to program easily and see what you're doing.

Maybe wire Keypad directly to panel. Have a 1000 ohm resistor across Bell circuit if one is not connected. Jumper out the Zones or easier, use the EOL's
