    I once heard a quote regarding video games, but I think it applies to almost everything: “people will optimize the fun out of anything if they can”. Everyone has their own philosophy around training but in the end we’re all (probably) just hobby joggers. As long as you’re having fun and staying interested you’re doing it right!

    dang praying on your downfall is crazy, the grind is inspirational man, rootin for you and stoked to see you keep putting in that workkk. On another note, im around your body type and fitness, how would you compare the endorphin elite to the vaporfly or alphafly (3s). Ive kinda been nike fanboy as far as racing shoes go. My focus is a bit more half marathon/10k tho and my favorite has been the alphafly 1. Vaporlfy 1 felt nice but 2s felt a bit firm for me. Im considering checking out some other brands for fast training/racing.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  4 місяці тому +2

      Endorphin elite is firmer and more rockered than Vaporfly. The Vaporfly has a soft squish feel that I like for shorter runs but I'd take the more structured and stable feel of the endorphin elite for a full marathon and maybe even half - Vaporfly is just a little soft for my preference when running fast these days. Alphafly has more of a bounce off the forefoot - if you're an aggressive forefoot striker Alphafly and around my paces you'll prob like the Alphafly the most out of the three. Elite is a little less bouncy and has more of an aggressive roll feel

    You can't be on UA-cam without getting some trolls and people who "know better" what you should be doing. This was a work day for me and I woke up to a 90 minute video. I started at 0500 and finished watching the entire video about 2130 while having my dinner. There are a lot more guys like me watching than the trolls.

    Endorphin Elite V2 has the softest foam ive ever felt in a running shoe
    Its not PB or HG. Totally new foam

    • @supwell
      @supwell  4 місяці тому +1

      Wow softest 🤯 that's a big 180 from the elite v1. I'm a little surprised they went that direction but from the pics it looks like they're trying to make it maybe a cielo x1 type shoe for recreational runners vs a true elite racing shoe? More foam and comfort vs fast and aggressive?

    • @brettfettbeargaming
      @brettfettbeargaming 4 місяці тому

      @supwell it was definitely still a shoe for elites
      Incredibly light and thin upper. The foam was probably closest to what is in the Sky/Edge Paris? But softer. A new supercritical foam the Saucony rep didn't even have a name for. He said they didn't have a name for it yet because they were still in the process of securing the patent for it

    Sounds like this foam would be awesome for bigger stronger runners ? Loved the idea of putting it in a more training oriented shoe :-) my fave shoes adios pro 3 and I am 210 lbs 6’1” and stronger runner .

    • @supwell
      @supwell  4 місяці тому +2

      Yeah spot on about the bigger/stronger runners - but feels a little more aggressive and like I need to be running faster in this than the pro 3 to get the most benefit. Now if Saucony made a prime x strung 2 competitor with this foam... 🤯

  • @WarneysWorld
    @WarneysWorld 4 місяці тому

    This is my race shoe. I weigh 90kg. This is the only shoe that doesn’t flatten after a few km for me. I wish it had a nicer upper but I haven’t had any blisters. I’m not elite - my half marathon time is 1:45. This is the bounciest shoe I’ve ever experienced

  • @kgunz4282
    @kgunz4282 3 місяці тому

    I dig the sprint hats that my local fleet feet keep in stock. I need to get another soon.
    As far as the training plans. I know you said you don’t like coaches or didn’t have the best of luck in the past. But i don’t even know if this I really consider “coach” since I don’t talk to anyone but the McMillan racing training plans have treated me well!! You can often catch a 40% off sale and grab whatever distance you’re looking for and then it’s yours forever. I need the structure. I need someone to tell me what to do. I’ll push harder because I don’t want to let the system down. It’ll help me fight that inner b**ch. I know how you are about pacing too but his stuff all works off your goal race pace. I guess based off percentages but it tells you exactly what the range is. And it sync straight to my watch. I don’t have to input it. Example would be Tuesday. Easy run. 10 minute warm up. 45 minutes at 8:30 pace. 10 minute cooldown. Wednesday. 15 minute warm up. 5x1 mile repeats @6:25 with 2 minute easy jog. 15 minute cooldown. I love that. I don’t overthink it. I just perform what the system prescribes me.

    Endorphin Elite is GOAT for me. I used it for my two-forty-nine PR at Chicago and it felt awesome the whole way. Then I used it again a couple days ago for an overall win at LKN Forest Run Half (that hilly-ass course you know). Didn’t want anything else on my feet throughout each of those. For me, it was firm and responsive, but not harsh. Smaller runner here: 5’7” tall, weighing in at 137 lbs.

      @@supwell I just keep using the endorphin pro3 so I bought another one now that they are on sale. But yeah these super shoes and 200lb heal strikers do not make for many miles. I gave tried the adios pro 3 but the one I used had a production error with the heal stitching that rubbed in my heal so I returned them but I have been really happy with the pro 3 and the vomero 17. I think the pro 3 and 4 have the same rubber but seems my foot rolls through the 3 more than it does on the 4.

    • @supwell

      This is much more aggressive feeling - puts you up on your toes more and has a less comfortable ride at slower paces. Superblast is more comfortable and a lot better shoe for everyday runs. Im not a huge fan of the superblast, but I would take that over endorphin elite for most runs - I would only use the endorphin elite for a fast race or a workout

Love your talks during the long runs, you should do them more ;) Today I ran my longest long run at 8 miles 🤣(probably a jog for you marathoners), but the vomeros felt really good, very comfortable and cushioned for the big up and down hills I was running through. I was cruising through uphills like nothing with them. Dude I wanna mention one thing to that whole hater thing you talked about after your 21 mile long run on your shoe review statue 😃
    Not everybody but some of the people are so fucked up in their own life that they can’t enjoying their own achievement or they don’t have any at all. And then they look at you seeing a healthy person, sports wise doing really good, have a decent life with a lovely family. They see all this and the haters put their hate against themself now on you because they found with you the perfect reason to give themself a free card.
    A free card that they can point their finger at you so they can continue to wallow in their misery 😬
    In my eyes these people are sick who say‘s I just want to see you get injured 😅😅😅
    Those people have really deep rooted problems with themself and they have to work on that to bring light into it.
    But they don’t want to because it so so painful 🙏 But this inner work is so damn necessary. I did it myself and my inner work is never finished 🙌😃
    You‘re doing everything right as long as you felt well represented in your actions and your being 🙏
    But I think you already know that kind mechanism why people say that kind of shit 😅
    And one last thing I want to mention.
    You will never see a hater that is doing better than you.
    Quote from David Googins 🔥😃🙏
    Keep hammering Bro 🫡🙏

      @@supwell I will always celebrate your success 💪🔥 For me it‘s important to use that haters talk shit as fuel for myself. And get even more like an animal to prove people wrong 🙌🔥
      I mean when it‘s got really hard that kind of motivations are flying out of the window and something really deep rooted overtake it but for me it‘s like the cherry on the cake to use it for me 🫡🔥
      And then you have an infinite fuel tank 😁
      When you‘re successful at the finish line of a race the opinion won’t make the haters any happier nor you any less fulfilled 🙏🙌🙌

    Great wet weather test. I have ran 2 marathons on my pair of elites and the last one was in the rain. Unfortunately the grip in actual rain was really “sketch”. I was slipping on road-painted pavement (cross walks and dividers) on toe-off and the bite on plain pavement was lacking. So in the end, my mind was more on not slipping rather than just running my race. In the dry though, they were great and hold my marathon PR. Also, recovery afterwards has been great, so the foam is legit.

    Since we are having conversations i never said i wanted to see you get injured. My reply was agreeing to another post about your commitment to the grind being inspirational! Direct quotes from the post:
    "Truly is! Not gonna lie I watch mainly for the shoe reviews but a tiny part also tuning in for the inevitable injury implosion that's gonna come from the over training. I just hope it isn't a major setback when it happens. It's incredible to watch how resilient he's been. Truly a feat!"
    "I'll add I do think hearing he's changing up training might help a ton. He may be one of those special humans who never gets injured. Either way it's pretty remarkable for non pro!"
    Now re reading it i can see how that may have came across as rooting for. Expecting it and rooting for it are different things. Agreed maybe i shouldnt have put that negative energy out there. Youre running is amazing and as i stated so is your resiliency. Just sucked when we all watched it happen to SJD and hope it doesn't happen to anyone. The comment about low key watching is more like watching a streak knowing it cant go on forever. Again probably poor choice of words and sorry if you took it as hoping you'd get injured.
    I enjoy your content and humor and was even going to compliment how amazing it is that you can run those paces and have full on conversations with barely a strain in your voice.
    Anywho, im still gonna keep watching for the top notch content and NOT because i want to see you get injured.

    If you like feetures, you need to try CEP socks! I have tried both, and the CEP are like better feetures in my opinion!

    Sheesh, curiosity… out of those 21 miles is that all ran or mixture of run and walk

      Great question - I always run my long runs straight through these days. Took me about 4 years of consistent running though to get to a place where I could do a 20 mile long run like this every weekend - btw some beginner marathon training plans do suggest a mix of run/walk as a way to get longer long runs in

    You should get a rotating turbo nozzle for the pressure washer. Those things are game changers.

      Thing with embroidery is that they can’t place the logo too close to the brim. They should have measured the hat before sizing it. Just needs to be smaller logo. Probably max 1.8” tall…

    • @supwell
      @supwell  4 місяці тому

      Good call - we'll prob adjust the curve of the top word as well as shrink the logo and it'll fix the issue. Thanks for the tip 🙌🏽

    i dont get it how do you run in these shoes without permanently damaging your feet and it not hurting from in the inflexible plate?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  3 місяці тому +1

      Sometimes the carbon plated shoe can hurt to run in, but usually that's not the case because the foam is so soft. The plates initially went into these shoes to help stabilize the super soft foams that would be too unstable and squishy to run in otherwise. So usually you don't even feel the plate when running
