Rts games are about making practical decisions. Something like killing each sheep might be useful for pros because they play for money, but it is unnecessary for a casual gamer. Concepts like scouting, utilizing control groups for positioning, unit counters, and even army compositions are a more realistic approach. Showing the hotkey to get villagers to safety was a great tip. Build orders are double edged. They do improve one's performance, but most of the time they don't understand why things are built in such a methodical way. Coming up with your own build orders from your own experience is one of the best parts of an rts. Automatically playing top tier builds that require perfection is going to take practice and even after that you will still lose to some random players opening gambit or even a civ that forces you to optimize. I wouldn't suggest inflating your ranking higher than it should be.
My point is that this is a bronze player. We need information to determine what the difference is between each league in order to get a more accurate idea of what to be teaching. From what I have seen at least 60% of the ladder doesn't have great micro. Yet no one seems to discuss positioning around choke points or utilizing the high ground. This alone could improve your army's combat efficiency without micro. Setting up ideal formations is a part of the game. It does improve one's performance. It is an ideal steppingstone into better micro and macro, but we completely overlook it because micro is the most efficient way to win fights. Players need to look at things from a more practical point of view. Trying to play like the professionals is completely overrated. Get down the basic fundamentals of the game. Once you build the muscle memory then try being more precise.

If you were after an idea for a video I would find super useful that I cant see anywhere else: The general entry point for players new to RTS is team games. But when they are comfortable in teams and play solo its a totally different game. Can you give us your thoughts on making the swap from team to solo?
