Classic: Genesis of the Daleks (to see the iconic Doctor of the classic era, Davros, and the Daleks) 9-11: The Girl in the Fireplace (fun episode with the 10th Doctor) 12-13: World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls (to see the 12th Doctor and other villains)
Can definitely recommend the episode "Blink". It doesn't feature the Doctor directly, but is nevertheless an amazing episode well worth watching, as it introduces us to one of the show's most terrifying villains, the Weeping Angels.
As a Whovian who also plays MTG this will be the most expensive Dr. Who boardgame you buy. But the set designer is a massive Whovian as well, and I firmly believe this will be the best Dr Who boardgame made, possibly ever
definitely getting the timey wimey and the masters of evil commander deck, not into magic much but dipped into it with the lotr set which the cards are cool then Dr Who is great! David Tennant was my favourite Doctor, Christopher Eccleston was also great and my first doctor to watch on the tv...still remember when dr who started back up again and I was hooked. great video and great explanation on the products to :)
Thank you for your thoughts ☺️ it's a really decent series and I think many people would share your favourite doctors! Here's hoping the cards do it justice 😃
Thank you for the release date! Tom Baker is my Dr. My first episode was when he was exploring a space station with lurking praying mantis type creatures.
i was born in 88 so my main dr who as a kid was the auton eps and the dalek films but i saw the tv film on release and in 2004 got heavily into the 5th dr I dont have a my dr rather my drs peter davidson, paul mcgann and chris as theyre from the 9 years i became a huge fan
Something you often alluded to, but never actually mention....How MUCH are the Commander Decks and Booster Packs going to cost? (A rough estimate based on previous product would be fine)
A fine point. It's tough to want to mention these things as so much can change over time but the prices on our site are: Commander decks £169.95 (for all 4) Collector box: £226.95 Link to check: www.doublesleeved.co.uk/collections/mtg-universes-beyond-dr-who-1
Question: 8:38 you post a list of the contents of the commander decks. You didn’t list the plane chase die. Are you saying there isn’t one in each? Unless you had gotten one from a previous set, then you wouldn’t be able to use the cards.
That is an error on our part. The plane chase die IS included and has been missed off the contents here. A genuine mistake and a great spot, thank you! ☺️👍
Bears mentioning that if you're only interested in a few of these cards for collecting purposes, your local comics and games store will probably be selling singles. Failing that, you can easily buy them from online TCG retailers
I'm loving universes beyond but i don't play commander so i'd love a 2 player starter deck (dr themed vs the forces of evil) i'd even pay an extra 10 quid if it had booster packs)
This little set really feels like a test. We had Warhammer 40,000 commander decks last year on their own, now we have Dr who decks AND collector boosters. Will be interesting to see the next expansion like this because a low priced, entry level product would have been great.
I’m such a big Doctor Who fan that my wedding ring is a tardis, my wife’s ring is Galadriel’s ring. We are both so excited for the sets that came out, but I feel so guilty that it feels like they’re catering fans like us too much…
new to MTG - My daughter is a big Dr Who fan... With commander decks.. can you mix and match them in the same game? so Timey-Wimey versus Masters of Evil for example? apologies for the noob question.
Hello friend! The decks can be played against any other deck anyone has ever made. The only restriction on your own decks (or combining them etc) is that the colours of the commander (David Tennant) need to be the colours of the other cards in the deck. I.e. a commander that is the MTG colours of red, blue and white, the other cards in the deck have to be those colours. So some of the cards from some of the decks can be put in others. There is a lot more to consider, if you want to build a good deck, but that is essentially the main restriction. There are loads of great videos on how to play magic and specifically commander ☺️👍
@@DoubleSleeved Thank you for the info. We are looking forward to trying out MTG - Dr Who is the trigger to get my daughter on board :-) Hoping for a Star Wars one in the future too as that is her second favourite Many thanks
Which Doctor Who episode should every MTG fan watch before the set is released? 🤔 Comment below!
Classic: Genesis of the Daleks (to see the iconic Doctor of the classic era, Davros, and the Daleks)
9-11: The Girl in the Fireplace (fun episode with the 10th Doctor)
12-13: World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls (to see the 12th Doctor and other villains)
@@nebula_nerd Awesome. Thank you! Take note everyone!!

I remember that one... Hard to forget it! I'm a wimp so it stuck with me 😳
Easy. ALL OF THEM
As a Whovian who knows nothing of Magic this was super helpful! Thanks so much!
That's great 👍😃 thank you ☺️☺️

Agreed!
As a fellow whovian who also knows nothing about MTG, I appreciate the breakdown of what it is and how they fit into this game.
@@enternamehere5498I'm super happy to hear that
as a doctor who fan interested in the art, this video had all the info i wanted, thanks
You are most welcome ☺️

I’m with u but I flip it Christopher Eccleston is my favorite and David second favorite
Thank you for the release date!

No problem ☺️ that sounds creepy!! 😳

Very true. Buying singles is easy if you know where to go. The cheapest also if you only need a few cards! ☺️👍

Make the most of it. Enjoy it. These sets won't happen again so get deep into it I say 😁😁. P.s. TARDIS ring sounds awesome!
Very nice vidéo 👍

That would be the dream, but with Disney releasing their own TCG it's unlikely. Either way it's a fabulous game. Hope you enjoy ☺️
