@prepperandson1399 no lol he definitely changed the face of the genre and helped make it was it became today but he in no way shape or form created it lol deathcore was already a genre on the rise for quite some time and was starting to get big when he finally came into the picture he was just there and was the face of the genre when it got REALLY big. I'm not trying to be rude or shit on the man he definitely deserves his respect 100% but still the genre itself also deserves its own respect for its history and rise

They’re enjoyable, and they’re the ones that have to work together so I won’t argue if Eddie should be in suicide silence or another band entirely, but I gotta say I think his style isn’t the most fitting. And on their self titled full length Eddie’s performance was, uh, interesting.

I unfortunately never got to see Mitch live, but honor him as the icon he still is. I remember in an interview, he said he grew up listening to Korn and wanting to be like Jonathan Davis when he grew up. Korn is the grandfather/face of Nu Metal as far as I’m aware. Mitch definitely became that for the deathcore scene. Very well done video. Also, that documentary makes me tear up too man. I’m getting that same feeling of loss from Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder. I’m still not over him going either. RIP to the legends of heavy music ❤

Mitch was an icon, but more importantly a father, one of the first things that came to mind when I heard he passed... Also in a strange kind of coincidence, I was in a car crash a few hours before Mitch and now have a scare on my left eyebrow that always reminds me of that Halloween weekend. Honestly, it only seems like yesterday when all that happened and it's almost been 11 years... R.I.P. Mitch, you will forever be missed and remembered

I got Mitch's face tattoo done behind my left ear way back, because he had a major impact and influence on me during my youth.
He was and still are one of the reasons why i got into "deathcore / heavy metal". He inspired me to make music as well.
The news of Mitch passing away was devastating... My stepbrother went to my room and told, and i cried that day. So sad for everyone affected, especially his family and friends.
RIP to a legend who influenced the heavy music in a *major* way.
PS: Betraying The Martyrs made a super cool song dedicated to the memory of Mitch called; Legends Never Die.
One of the reasons if i remember correct, is, either Mitch or Aaron were supposed to feature on a SS or BTM record, but because of Mitch's unfortunate passing, it couldn't be done.
And that was how Legends Never Die came to life.
"You only live once, so just go fucking nuts" was once a big thing... But Mitchell Adam Lucker sure knew how to do it, and lived up to it.

He got his laptop and showed me his family photos with Mitch and him. I told him that's so cool. As soon as I got back I got The Fallen tatted on me. So happy you did Suicide Silence! I'm actually seeing them with Chelsea Grin in December! Though as someone who never got the chance to see Mitch perform live it does sting a bit but i have no doubt from seeing their live videos that his energy will still be there and anywhere SS goes. I did get to see Chelsea Grin with Alex along side Chunknocaptainchunk speaking of that show Alex came off the stage and moshed with us while performing and it was an overall blast! SS though will always be one of the biggest bands for the scene due to the mark Mitch left on the scene not to mention the awesome work Garza and the rest of the band put in. One more thing The Garza Show is great i've watched multiple and they are always a mind changer. For example Garza had FFAA (Fit For An Autopsy) and FFAA said that we as the fans may just look at just the band but honestly the people around them be that family, friends, or lovers they are all apart of the band which is so true! Goes to show how much us deathcore fans actually care about things and how family orientated we all are which i honestly don't know a more family based scene then this scene expecially at shows! Anyways sorry for the long messege this music gets me going and i can't stop talking about it when i start to do so! Anyways thank you for these videos honestly they are great and always a chill time to elevate chill and go through nostalgia with all of these bands!

Mitch is a pure legend, hands down. Personally, he definitely defined what I consider as the perfect high pitched scream. His technique and flow was the gold standard.. and still is !
I disagree on the fact that Deathcore is dead after him tho. Sure the modern scene isn't as interesting and innovative, but it's alive and well. We lost our leader but the army is still there. It juste evolved into many other subgenre (Downtempo, Slam, Technical, Symphonic, Blackened...)
It's not the same good old vibe but there's still amazing stuff to listen to out there 😍 ! And we can still hear the influence of the band here and there. If he's watching us, he's proud of the scene and his legacy for sure. 💫

I was extremely fortunate to see SS play live at Allstars Tour just a few months before he passed. I was just a young lad but I was old enough to know I was witnessing something iconic.

Suffer is my favourite Suicide Silence song. The riff is just so bouncy. Also it’s a song on my bucket list to learn but I can’t find any good tabs online.

More of a hardcore guy and have been since 2013 but suicide silence and a couple other Deathcore bands is what got me there and I remember listening to the demo version of Bludgeoned to death when I was 15 and I was legit scared for my life. Most insane thing ive ever heard. Still a goat band for me. RIP Mitch

I remember when I got into them at 17 and my mouth dropped when I heard Mitch talk in an interview and I was like “he screams like a god but he’s a sweetheart what?!” There will never be another Mitch and till this day Suicide Silence will forever be one of my favorite Deathcore bands!

A huge inspiration to me and one of the reasons i got into harsh vocals. What a time it was to be around for the release of No Time to Bleed, Judgement from Chelsea Grin and This Is Exile by Whitechapel. The only thing close to that era now is Pain Remains by Lorna Shore and Kostolom from Slaughter To Prevail as far as deathcore goes. Rest In Power Mitch. Youre still loved dearly.

When you say that the release of No Time To Bleed was exactly what we wanted, you are exactly right. My all time fav Suicide Silence album - Ill never forget thinking/hearing WAKE UP WAKE UUUUPPPP!!! when i was having a bad trip back in 2009, just hearing Mitch's voice screaming out in my head, so i put on the album and it totally materialized into audio the discomfort and fear i was experiencing and made me feel a deep connection to Mitch, fucking awesome record

I saw SS in 2006 when they were touring with All Shall Perish and Light This City. Club Red in Gainesville, FL. No one showed up to the show. They played their set in an empty club to me and my friend and some employees from the bar. I just remember it being the most brutal set i’ve ever seen. I’ve always wondered if they remember that dead show in the heart of summer on like a weekday evening.

Josh was my favorite suicide silence drummer. He wore a mask cuz he hated the faces he made when he would tire out from blast beats. And also back in that time in riverside, it was extremely difficult to come across good drummers that knew how to play anything faster than Hardcore. At that time it was all hardcore and metal core. A lot of drummers in the scene weren’t used to blast beats etc. gotta remember this was the early 2000’s. Suicide silence were all good dudes. I used to see them play and share stage with them what seemed like every month.

Whitechapel and Phil Bozeman have always been my favorite deathcore band/vocalist, but I can not deny that Suicide Silence and Mitch were the posterchilds of deathcore and without them the genre never would be where it's at today with Lorna Shore and Slaughter to Prevail busting out onto the scene.
