Ah, I remember this scene. I didn't watch the show, but my aunt did. I was over at her house when this episode was on she was like, "why does one kid always wind up gay after they go to college?" Unbeknownst to her, I (who was a college freshman at the time), had just come out as a lesbian to my parents.
Spacetime my issue is that the coolest most beautiful girls end up being gay. In real life and movies. So i will die alone cause 99% of awesome girls are gay.
It's amazing how well Monica Potter's character responded to her tv child's lifestyle. This isn't the reaction that every teen or child gets. I think it's sad when parents don't accept their kids.
@@nellabozhko6941 oh I thought that you had used that word on accident, nevermind. It is a choice between being happy and honest out of the closet or trying to repress the truth, so in a way it is a choice, but not really.
I can. She dated men previously on the show, going so far as to move out of the house briefly when her parents forbade her from dating one of her boyfriends.
I don't think Haddie was even gay. I just think she was experimenting. She went to college and tried something new. Before that, she was pretty into guys so...
A lot of hateful comments over here. Just letting you know that a show is not leftist for portraying gay people. 1 in 5 young adults identify as LGBT nowadays.
Well, she could be bisexual. And some gay people actually do try the opposite sex at first to see if they really are gay...either to test the waters or because they're in denial
alana terrel there's nothing wrong with that. that's what's wrong with our society judgmental people like u. she could be lesbian or bi or how about just not labeling yourself? you are attracted to who you are attracted to and sexual orientation is not black and white. it is a continuum. have you not heard of Kinsey? maybe you should do some research and become better educated on human sexuality. :)
so the writers have themselves a boring ol heterosexual daughter situation. Hey! I know - let's send her to college and when she comes back home BOOM! ...LESBIAN!! Takeaway... parents keep your precious children out of progressive, liberal "schools"
To be fair it does seem cliché of the writers to do that. And this is coming from a lesbian lmao. It seems stereotypical that sis goes away for school and then suddenly comes back as gay. Like you don’t just become gay. It’s a feeling that’s always been there. If anything, it’s promoting the idea that being gay is a choice rather than it being something you’ve always had, which, lmao being gay is not a choice. Yeah no I agree with the boomer. Promoting a twisted perception on sexuality isn’t cute. You can’t turn someone gay or straight, that’s predatory, sorry. 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️
If true, then you shouldn't have watched this show in the first place. Miles Heizer who plays Drew is a gay man. And Mae Whitman who plays Amber is pansexual. Whether you like it or not, LGBTQ people exist.

Toby Taylor u speak that truth
Splish splash, your aunt is trash
I always liked how they look pretty similar 😂
Honestly i always thought Amber was gay
definitely thought Drew was bisexual, but i could also see this.
Amber Vw didn’t we all
I think that's why they made her straight and haddie gay.
@Dani Masterson I mean that’s not what makes someone a lesbian
Mae Whitman is pansexual (accepting of every orientation and either gender)

Calling her sexuality a "lifestyle" is not appropriate cause it's not something that people can control, but good sentiment otherwise.
It is a lifestyle whether you believe it or not and they can control it. It's not like it was forced on her

@@nellabozhko6941 dude your first comment started so well and now youre being homophobic yourself....seriously how disgraceful.
There is always a gay cousin
Kaylyn Riggs All the males on my dad’s side. Gave my son our last name in hopes of someone carrying on the family name. If not, still love him.
There are 4 in my family 😂
THIS SCENE BRINGS TEARS
TO MY EYES.
this scene makes me cry
It's not Parenthood if it's not making you cry
I know, man, is just a tv show.
same. crying ;(
Lol I loved Haddies character so much its one of the reasons I chose to name my daughter Haddie.
She's my favorite character on this show. She deserved better.
Ah goes to Cornell and comes back with a girlfriend…. relatable content
Technically she didn't say she was a lesbian she just said she was dating this person who happens to be a girl.
Wow
Wow what?
She came out in her own way.
i really like and support not labeling yourself but also i understand it can bring peace to someone struggling with identity. to each their own
Ironic at the end of season 2, Kristina and Adam were on edge about Haddie being sexually active ....
Can anybody please post as many clips as they possibly can from this show? It got taken off Netflix 😥
sweetlife031 It's on Hulu.
@@dawggirl Thanks 👌🏻
I got Peacock - the free kind 🙂
It's not on Hulu or peacock anymore
It’s on hulu now
i can't believe Kristina didn't know. gaydar: broken
I can. She dated men previously on the show, going so far as to move out of the house briefly when her parents forbade her from dating one of her boyfriends.
My parents would have disowned me
What episode is this
5x22
This was talked about like in 2 episodes and never brought up again. It was kinda pointless.
Well they need a pointlessly gay character because it’s the modern day
what episode?
Chloe Feltner s5 ep22
I loved the entire show.
Well i guess there will be no grand children anytime soon.
I love Kristina
It's so funny. I *hated* Kristina in the beginning. But she ended up being my favorite character. Or pretty close to it.
Amazing. CM’ing. Lol.
She has a girlfriend. What if she marries her later on. Its the LGBT 🏳️🌈
Christine needs to cry more in these episodes.
She cries in just about every episode.
😂😂
She went black she couldn’t go back
I don't think Haddie was even gay. I just think she was experimenting. She went to college and tried something new. Before that, she was pretty into guys so...
💪👍

Is it the law now that every show has to have a gay character?
No. just there are barley any to begin with.
Does it make your pp hard?
so after she finishes with a black guy all of a sudden she gay oh plz
Well, she could be bisexual. And some gay people actually do try the opposite sex at first to see if they really are gay...either to test the waters or because they're in denial
alana terrel She is bi. If you watched the Episode you'd know. She says that she really loved Alex as well.

Woah, you’re a crazy person.
I cant stand the mother. Her voice grates. I just learned it is called, "vocal fry"🤢🤮
Yeah this mom is so controlling lmfao

@@andioop-2957 this may be true to you, but is not true to everyone. Coming out In college is extremely normal and also Haddie could be Bi
The reason why I stopped watching this show. Why bring homosexuality to a good show like this and ruin it for us??
Wow that is extremly homophobic. Personally I think the show is even better with LGBTQ+ representation becuase it matters.
This is Us did it also - with Tess 👌🏻
It's vile and very wrong. If any show has these contents, I will stay away from it like a plague. It is wrong, so unnatural and vile. Disgusting
