If there is no loco change to diesel enroute it means these lines are electrified. I used to tour these places in 1984 and now amazed to see the progress made by Southern Railways in terms of Broad Gauge Conversion, Electrification, reviving the abandoned Nidamangalam-Mannargudi line and introduction of many fast trains in the Main line which has been ignored for so many years. They have also reconfigured many stations like Mayiladuthurai ( Salem also) by making the Express Trains take Platform 1. I also notice the preliminary doubling work in some portions of Main line. The BG trains nowadays are quite speedy covering the mainline destinations in 5 to 6 hours. I hope they complete doubling work fast and also run fast day trains in the pattern of Pallavan and Tejas in mainline too. Chennai to Trichy and back via mainline with travel time of 5 to 6 hours. That would be great. Also so glad to know that Tiruvarur junction is gaining importance. They must also run a fast Night Express from Chennai Egmore to Karaikudi, Rameswaram via the Mayiladuthurai-Tiruvarur-Thiruthuraipoondi route. Naveen you are doing a great job in your vlogs. Please continue to improve
Nice to see someone who has seen several walks of life giving his experience. But what is noticeable in our railways is that one of the oldest rail routes, Chennai - Mumbai line is still not electrified and doubled in some parts because of which loco change happens and it takes almost 20 hours for the FASTEST train to reach the destination
Yes. Chennai Mumbai line not electrified or doubled so far is pathetic and trains taking 20 to 24 hours for a 1100 KM journey is not at all acceptable.
No of stoppings given is high in MAS CSMT/DR/LTT route trains. The fastest train 12164 has 24 stops with average speed of 58 kmph. Comparatively, MAS NDLS, Tamilnadu express takes 31.5 hours, 10 stops and average speed 68 kmph. Reduce the stops, reduce the timing.

Bro, you should surprise to note that Needamangalam Mannargudi section was a MG section which had Rajappaiyan Chavadi and Haridra Nadhi stations in between and one link passenger was operated along with Goods services as Mannargudi has FCI Godown and it is still there. During 80s, train services stopped and this sections was abandoned and MG tracks were removed. Later, when T R Balu was in Railway coordination committee member, he took initiative to restore this section with extension to Pattukkottai, plan which is approved and still on cards. Now, this section is an electrified BG section with 4 express services and 2 passenger services. Hope Mannargudi Pattukkottai connectivity will be restored soon.

Mannai express 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃always arrives early in both directions.. never been late. Gives tough to SF express. Only negative thing, after launch.. it was replaced by dirty LHB coaches.
