- What’s your Resting Heart Rate?
🚴🏽♂️ As you get more aerobically fit, your heart gets bigger. The heart can increase in size by up to around 40-80mL from consistent aerobic training.
This means that at rest you pump more blood per beat and therefore need to produce fewer heart beats to deliver oxygen leading to a lower resting heart rate.
🧔🏽♂️ For men, a resting heart rate of:
55 BPM is top 10%
46 BPM is top 1%
👩🏼🦳 For women:
59 BPM is top 10%
51 BPM is top 1%
⚽️ Ronaldo reportedly has a resting heart rate around 32-33 BPM.
Resting heart rate typically fluctuates by around 10 BPM throughout the week based on sleep, hydration, caffeine intake, and EPOC from previous training.
Resting heart rate is influenced by genetics but interestingly doesn’t change significantly with age (although max heart rate drops fairly consistently year to year)
📊 So, where do you rank?

Its mind blowing. Cant even imagine how would it feel to have around 50 bpm while resting. Normally after I wake up i have around 60, but when the day goes by it goes up to 100 and its jumping between 70-100. When I have an extremely stressing day it can hit up the 120s and Im only 22.
Like nothing at all. I had coffee. I'm not tired. Not wired either. I got slightly high blood pressure. I weigh over 250 lbs. I'm fat. My heart rate 2 min ago was 51. I cycled over 30 miles with 10+ lbs luggage yesterday. I LEGPRESS 600+ lbs. I'm over 30. I had phases of regular cardio. But lately it's more like i decide to go for 8,12 or 20 miles every few weeks. Often i go somewhere by train and back by bike.
My RHR is 43ish. To answer your question I’m very chill
You definitely notice having a lower heart rate. Like just more calm. Kinda like stress free kinda feeling. But it’s very noticeable to you if your heart rate is increased for w.e reason.
@@Gnorde like when i was 18 it was perfect, never felt heart beat in my chest and never heard it. Wasnt stressed or anything, but when turnt to 19 after that i felt like a major change in my health. Since that it got better, but still kinda fucked up. But nothing extreme.
I've 52bpm RHR, and I feel nothing special.. I don't, I'm just used to it that's why
me who has a resting heart rate consistently over 100, guess i’ll die
Have you checked your blood pressure lately? I was young, healthy, and active, but my RHR was mid 70s. Turns out my BP was dangerously high, but I had no idea!
My heart rate is rlly high I was sitting and resting it was 120 but my blood pressure is low
I have 92 resting heart rate
The highest mine has ever been resting was 174. . .
Fix your diet, main component to everything health
I’m sitting at 45. I thought I was dying.
Same I went to the er, but I also just quit smoking, but they say tht increase heart rate, and I been hella stressed and not feeling good. But yea they said my heart rate is 40-55 probably fine
30 is the lowest good heart rate and only pro gymnastics can achieve and handle it
Nope. Lower heart rate as someone that exercise just means that you have higher stroke volume to equivalent to good cardiac output. Your heart works less to pump more blood rather than someone whose heart works harder to pump less just to get same cardiac output.
I sit 48
@@darrentuason hit it on the nail
At 71 my resting heart rate is 56. that puts me in the top 5%. I just walk and weight train moderately but daily. I just started training jiu-jitsu twice a week.
At 71?! Lol your blessed

Im a cyclist and also lift weights. When at the gym I can lift very heavy wait a few seconds and do my next set without my face even changing or breathing hard. Great stamina makes strength sustainable! Im 50 years old and my heart rate is below the top 1%, also drops as low as 30 bpm when im sleeping. 38 to 45 when awake. So fun to have, its trully a blessing.
I have adhd and my heart rate was always at around 90 when I was in bed(about 110 on medication). I thought that this was healthy, because I was skinny. After active exercise for about a year now (strength and cardio) my resting rate is at 70 now and I am super glad I feel like I took so much stress off my organs.
What did you do? I have adhd too. Mine is around 80
I also have ADHD and my heartbeat is at 118
My resting is 81 bpm n I was diagnosed at 5 yrs old, now I'm 28 so I have adult ADD
Mine is sitting around 36 lol Not kidding btw went to the cardiologist yesterday ✌️
What he told is that normal.....?
@@KhaledDZ2807Its not uncommon for endurance athletes. I’m a marathon and ultra marathon runner and mine routinely goes below 35, though my average usual sits between 36-40.

My resting heart rate is now 39. My Apple watch keeps sending "low heart rate" notifications to me saying it's fallen below 40 while sleeping. I thought I was dying. Recently I stopped eating sugar.
love your information
Mine was 42 this morning when I tested at the Doctors office. I just turned 40 in Feb and told myself this year I’m taking my health to a new level and getting back into star athlete territory. Next I want to test my VO2 Max.
My resting heart rate is usually between 65-80 depending on if I’ve just woken up, then it will be much slower, if I’ve just exercised it will be higher
My average resting is right around 40 but my resting heart rate can go as low as 31-32ish while I’m sleeping.
Interesting. My average resting is right around 39 but my resting heart rate can go as low as 29-30ish while I’m sleeping.
@@lionelgrisbane-ud87 that's curious cuz my resting heart rate its on the neighbourhood of 36-37 and often goes as low as 25-28ish when im taking a nap.
I measure 45 during the day. But my sleep tracker shows a min of 40-41 and avg of 45.
And if I’m standing it goes up to 60. Which one is considered the resting hr?
This data I believe was on awake, resting individuals
I am a 17 year old male athlete. I participate in endurance sports. My heart rate has been stuck around 70 BPM for the past 3 years. I also will randomly start to loose a lot of my fitness for no apparent reason.
Something that can put a damper on feeling healthy about one's low heart rate: hypothyroidism. Something that could cause your high one: hyperthyroidism. Or maybe not. Check for other symptoms then with a doc If the shoe fits

Could be stress anything never know
Try lighting a candle near ur face in the dark n watching in the mirror...😅
I had a stressful day and I’m here with a resting 114 making sure I’m not gonna croak 😅
you're fine brother! one month later I know..
especially if it was just a stressful day... and you may have white Coat Syndrome where you go to the doctor's office or even at home when you know you're taking your pulse reading or blood pressure and it makes you nervous, therefore your heart rate may increase....
it's got to be higher than that consistently for you to be worried...
try to get some good sleep, hydrate, stay away from your phone and just sit down or lay down watch a little TV or whatever & relax in a dim room...also turn the temperature down a a little bit or a fan on to help you relax and sleep..

@@rogue_spegyt9842nurses and doctors offices do not take blood pressure correctly. We need 3-5 minutes of sitting down relaxing sitting straight up and feet flat along with arm at correct height. Nurses throw it on and take the blood pressure right after brisk walking from waiting room. Next time you go tell the nurse allow me 5 minutes to sit and relax to get a normal resting blood pressure reading. Doctors offices more now then ever are notorious for incorrectly telling people they have hyper tension (high blood pressure). This happened to me as well when I was going through a very stressful time last December and it caused me severe anxiety over my blood pressure. At the doctors after this I was always 150/105 or 145/100 at home I was 120/80 or lower. Our Bp as humans goes up when we stand up, walk, bend over, cross our legs, cough, talk, laugh it is normal I honestly think doctors want to sell blood pressure meds instead of promoting less sodium, good sleep, and less alcohol. Sorry for the long message but hope this helps someone who may be experiencing white coat syndrome like I was and still do sometimes.
@jackman1321 i screenshoted your comment and i read it occasionally when in need of an anxiety relief
Measured during sleep or awake?
Awake
in july before my accident - my rhr was 43 peaking at 47. since, i was limited to movement/ only some walking. had to build up to walking more than 100 meters at a time. it was 55 bpm. i've been regularly training now a week (cleared by doc). my RHR is already 49-50. i won't be surprised if it gets below 43 by February as my fitness before was only 75% of the best shape of my life. IM 41. 6'5" 280-292. weight fluctuates 10lbs due to perspiration. 20-21% bf
I had a 44 bpm and my watch thought I was dying
I had a 43 bpm and my watch thought I was double dying
Mine is about 40 (female) but I’m no elite athlete, yeah I run but it always worries me how low it is especially when I’m asleep it goes down to 30. Also I don’t know if this affects it but my bmi is 19.0.
When they say "resting" heart rate do they mean when you are sleeping OR juts relaxing?
Im slitting at 40-45 however im not particularly fit and im not unfit. Went to the hospital to get an ECG and results show all good
Hi, I’m 25 yrs old, my RHR is below 55, My weight is around 104 in kgs. Is it concern?
My resting HR was 33-37 from age 22 to 35. Now 40 years later and training reduced by about 90% or so and 30 pounds heavier, my HR is 48-50 at almost age 70. It is the range that I have lost due to very 'little' training and weight. Max used to be 190 and now only 145bpm, waaa!!! Nordic skiing, bicycling of all kinds and running were my go to racing sports. I have not raced anything in just about 10 years, waaa. In my younger day HR over 120bpm was common for 40-60 hours per week due to laborer work and my training. I started and owning HR monitors in UNI back in 1979.
i’m a woman who rests at 38 bpm when sleeping. is that unhealthy?
yes eat more processed and fried food, then it goes back to normal. dont forget to sit all day :D
when sleeping your heart rate can drop as low as 30 as a fit individual. i suggest doing a sleep study to make sure nothing is happening.
My heart rate is always around 85 and I go to the gym everyday. I don’t do cardio though. Right now is 68 and I’ve got surprised, so I ended up here 😅.
Maybe u overdose on caffeine? Im also go to gym and never does cardio, mine is 44 bpm.

118 and im just 17. Also it beats so hard you could feel it by putting your hand on my chest after a 30 sec sprint. tf do i do

My watch says average 65 rhr. But when im at work (desk job) it varys from 70-85… what? Does it just measure the lowest in the day?
I skip rope few times a week, nd my resting heart rate is 60, i have no idea if that's normal since i had anxiety nd my heart rate was between 90 and 100. Either i have a better physique or i am dying 😂
I never understood why I had one in the 40s. My oura ring tells me it gets to like 38 regularly during sleep. I first noticed this when I was a teenager. I wasnt particularly healthy even. Guess it's highly genetic
Well when i rest my heart rate is 49 while not moving all while writing something even tho i am 15 💀
Im lying down, and im very cold. i have a high temperature, and my heat rate is 110 average.
Heart rate while you are sleeping is not resting heart rate.
Reduced my RHR dramatically by eating properly (vitamins, minterals, carbs, protein, and water strictly) and heavy athletic training from 78 to 48. Its possible, work on it.
How much time did it take to get your RHR so low? What routine did you follow? Mine stays around 80 and I lift weights 5 times a week.
mine is around 54 is it ok?

I also run at least 10 miles a week and am like 10-11% body fat wtf I gotta do?
I'm having around 45 in evenings and sometimes during the sleep it goes to around 35. Not sure if this is OK or healthy. I was training for past 12 years in gym and doing cardio without any breaks during these years I only had a week off when I was sick sometimes but I was quite consistent. I had longest break during covid when everything was shut down and I gain around 15 kg of fat and since that time I noticed my heart rate is low my apple watch goes crazy with warnings that m6 heart is below 40 during sleeping. You're suppose to test your resting heart rate first thing in the morning before you really move around and before you eat anything to get an accurate measurement. Because moving around and eating can influence resting heart rate. Also try and include more cardiovascular bases exercises few days per week.
