My apologies on the late upload, this video decided it wanted to take nearly 4 hours to export this morning compared to the typical 30 minutes! All in all, it's up and we're going..
Part #2 coming soon, this place turned out beautiful! If you're new, hit that subscribe button, join the 82,858 watching already.
Missed you all, hope you're doing good. I'm on my way back, better than ever.. I skipped the tiny house build and dropped some $$$ on the MBW Shop. You guys will get to see that very soon! I was able to use the reclaimed 8x8" from the winery to out all my work benches, and it came out awesome! Stay tuned for that.
BANG ON!
Hi
Hey man sh🤘t happens sometimes...oh wait chain saw gtg...
30 mins Vs 4 HOURS?? why the bottleneck? Hope you don't lose a hard drive Thanks Matt!
@@a_w_bukhari7579 Not a clue, looking into it currently.. I have a built PC that I edit on, so things can go south much quicker than a store bought.
Time to collab with Linus on your next build ✌🏽 wouldn’t that be fun
Man I'm glad your back to regular schedule program
Awesome

Gotta love a framing job that's also finish work. Best of both worlds. And y'all killed it! Looks good.
That chainsaw part was crazy. I was waiting for the kickback to happen.
Easiest way to do it, but kickback definitely happens! Have to be careful.
Glad to see you fellas banging again.

Dude what a nice location to be working at.
Totally love the work you all do
13:12 That looks like a real wrist breaker!
Love your channel Matt! Learning lots of stuff each time I watch!
So great to see ya in front of the camera again and doin what ya love!!!!!! right on man
That bandsaw is sweet. You guys have access to some nice Doug fir.
In regards to the beam joint, the way bottom cut of the second beam is not sitting on top of the post means only upper half of the beam is being structurally used. Wood fibers run horizontally length wise, so both sides of the beam should be supported from the bottom for all the fibers to have structural function.
That’s why I referenced the structural detail. Unfortunately we don’t design things, only build them. They chose the joinery via structural engineer.
My Pops and I built it, stood back and chatted about the same thing.. While I don’t ever believe it’ll be a problem, it’s definitely an odd design!
Yes, and I meant to comment only for the info. I thought maybe it’ll have diagonals or beams are 2x what they need to be.
update in half a year or so would be cool. most likely a crack on the unsupported right bean will show up sooner or later. could be bolted or the right structural screws could help preventing that imo

Not easy working those big beams. Nice work.
Now that's a tight seam! 😀🤙👍
Can you do a review on that cordless skil
Excelente trabalho
Hey Matt great videos! Question, who makes those knife plates?
Hi Matt. Love that chainsaw work. Got to have the right tool for the job! Looking good. Enjoy the day. Ray L
Are you going to do valleys or do the other roofs just run off onto the porch roof?
Hello, where did you get the blue handheld band saw? I also seen you use it to cut corbels.
10:45 - 11:05 Should the lower wheel on the saw be that loose? Or is it tight, but out of perfect alignment?
Matt, what kind of bandsaw is that you are using? I looked and cannot find anything like it.
schweet!
Is there anything saying you can’t laminate 2x6’s and use them as supports between the wall studs instead of the solid posts you used?
Just curious, what type of string do you use? Twisted or braided?
What nails do you shoot for wall framing?
17:11 to 1732 definitely a cover photo of some sorts in there.
Agree. Perfect setup! Lol
I liked
1:26 banging wood 😳😁
17:44 Those metal pipe sawhorses must be hard on blades. Have to have exact depth of cut set each time.
user990077 You can put sacrificial boards on them. That’s a good practice with wooden sawhorses too.
Greetings from Turkey
12:44 Joint looks good from here.
🔥
Missed ya buddy! 🙏
MattBangsWood welcome back
What’s the song in the video, or songs?
Snap im late.....🤘
I'm 6 hours late, don't stress a minute. LOL

Looks like from the vids you guys never make a big mistake 😁
Did you miss the video where we installed like 20 sheets of sheathing upside down and had to rip it all off? 😂
@@MattBangsWood I'll check it out I sure could use your help now to bad your in California but your tips have helped a bunch
Impressive. How far does that Timber span and what size is it?
8x15”, 20’ each way for a total of 40’!
@@MattBangsWood what type of wood beams are these? I am trying to find something to span 25 or 30 feet with 2 posts only, thanks
Nice joinintery doesn't fit with them low pitch roof angles
#bangon!
제작된 트러스를 사용하면
찬지붕공법을 사용할 수 밖에 없고
내부에 가변형 투습방지재 시공도 불가능해지겠군요.
일은 잘 하시는데 단열에는 신경을 안쓰시는군요.
And to think a couple of kids built that house;)
Matt, thank you for all the content ! I stumbled across your videos yesterday, and been watching since, very interesting! Are you looking for help? I'd like to work with you to gain some experience, no pay. Is that possible?
Unfortunately it’s highly illegal, or I’d be all about it!
@@MattBangsWood Ok Matt, I'll work and take a paycheck. Lol All joking aside, your work is solid! These videos motivate me. How did you get started? Can you give me some advise as far as the best ways to get started? Some direction ?
Where you been homie
Working on my filming studio! You’ll see it soon, place is honestly my dream come true.. Spent way too much, but it’s worth it.
17:20 what 's the name of this dance ???
The hop skip and a rip!
How thick are those timber posts? 8x8?
8x8" posts with an 8x15" beam.
That’s some pretty pricey lumber they used. Just a bit over engineered too from the looks of it.
@@Bill_N_ATX I live in an earthquake prone environment. Better overbuilt than underbuilt.
Same here, seismic zone. Had they utilized another post it would have been a 8x10”, instead of that monster 8x15”!
Great content as always - but those look like my A frames.
Oh no, you’re onto us!
'scool. Great channel man.
hi nice
what size are the rafters?
and i know its flat but how much pitch is there on the roof? I am Designing something very similar, looks great. If i go to my saw mill. what type of lumber am i looking for?
1/4” / 12 slope. Minimal, not desirable as we had issues with the main roofs and this working out.. They opted to drop the roof slope to make it work best.
3x6” rafters, spanning 9’.
Hi
You guys are shit hot!! Missed the videos. Hope all is well 👊🏻👊🏻
We’re what? 😂 I’ve never heard that term.
Same to you! Hope you’re surviving through all of this.
Google tells me “shit hot” means “excellent”. 😂 What a term! I’m using that from now on.
A term all the way from the uk for you champ 👍🏻😂 keep up the quality work and the videos coming 👊🏻

Does anybody else see the issue with the half-lap of beams

So are you back to work now all the time ? Also your dad smokes like a 🚂
He’s actually under half a pack a day, lol. It used to be worse, he’s slowed it down a lot. Majority of clips in this were within an hour or so, I noticed that too.. 😂
We’re just back to finish this up. Next house starts soon, then we’re back full time. 😉
