In this video, Anthony Sequeira covers IT storage basics like SAN, which is NetApp’s leading storage technology. He’ll also answer several participant questions, leveraging his recent experience completing a NetApp Certified Storage Associate (NCSA) NSO-145 course. This course is designed to help individuals prepare for NetApp’s entry-level certification exam.
This CBT Nugget focuses on NetApp’s primary storage technology and their priorities as a company. Anthony recently completed a NetApp Certified Storage Associate NSO-145 course and relates some of the key lessons he learned. Among those are three technological priorities for NetApp. The first is storage virtualization, where physical devices are separate and distinct from the logical representation end users see. Next is flash storage, and Anthony talks about the benefits (and costs) of a full flash drive, as well as comparing it to a hybrid approach, where you have a smaller flash storage paired with a traditional hard drive. Finally, there’s cloud computing. NetApp recognizes that companies want to utilize the public cloud infrastructure, build their own private cloud, or some combination of both. They provide solutions for any of these situations.
