great advice! but i have a speedy horse who hangs on the bit. any rein i give is encouragement for her to go faster and out of control. any advice to get her head up but keep her slow and under me?
You have to teach her how to follow your seat and slow down too. She is rushing out of balance and leaning on the bit. Teach her how to do a baby small trot keeping the tempo the same. Absolutely no speeding up or slowing down. This will come from your position. Do that for a week and then put your leg on and ask her to push to the bit, when she looses balance and starts to get heavy half halt with your body and think walk, if she doesn't respond to your seat do a full walk transition. Then rinse and repeat. Eventually she will shift her wait back a bit to rebalance in anticipation of the walk transition and then you can push her forward a little bit again. You have to have both the whoa and the go. You must also have the body control to hold the tempo with your seat/and or posting.
I really don’t like what she does and says. There are some truths in what she says but by and large it’s out of context. Sorry but that’s my honest opinion

jlaeventing I have the same problem
What bit are you using please?
Adam Raza It looks like the horse is wearing a double bridle, and the only bits you would use is the loose ring bridoon bit and the curb bit.
this is all great ...try it sitting...

what do you mean by 'out of context'?
I'm also curious what you mean 'out of context'? I think this short demo is clear as day, but we all have our opinions
I hate it as well. Mainly because you can not teach a horse to like pain and bits.
