Grew up in Blakely (the country outside of it really) and always wanted to leave and go to a bigger city. Now I live in a metropolis and can't wait until I finish school and can move back out to an area like Blakely. The city is just so noise and filthy. These small towns may not have all the amenities but they certainly have a lifestyle more conducive to healthy and active living.
It’s one of the last few places with a hospital and it’s close to Dothan. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back but some of my ancestors own Blakely Chicken and some property and that’s what I miss the most!
