One thing i have noticed from the few videos i have seen is that you are not afraid to go off the beaten track...outside of the big cities and towns on your travels...to give us all an authentic traditional aspect of the countries you are in...thank you for another excellent educational video guys!!
Thank you for recording this footage, despite the dangers. I would feel scared on those roads so the only way to go there is with you haha :) Keep them coming!
Love pies with potatoes and they are cheap.! I remember the cows on the road. I went to Tbilisi via marshutka. I fell asleep only to be awoken with the driver swerving to miss a cow , then 3 cows then a herd by going in the opposite ditch. I'm not in Kansas anymore
Hi Matt and Julia 👋. What an adventurous and crazy road. The "fall offs" on the side of it gave me the "creeps"😱🤣. That flashing disco light in your room at the Airbnb would have driven me mad!🤣. Julia, your vegetable ragu looked so comforting and healthy. Hope it helped the two of you to get over your colds. It never fun to be sick while traveling. Both of you are such "troopers" so I know that you are probably feeling much better by now. Take care and have a pleasant and fun weekend. 👍🤗❤️🙏🌎
Thank you so much John! Really appreciate it, we are feeling better already 🥰 ahh those roads were honestly petrifying 😣 Hope you are well! Take care 🥰❤️
Hey guys that was a rough trip but the scenery was beautiful. Matt's hair got so long...it looks great. Stay safe and keep sharing the wonderful vlogs.
Adventure driving to be sure! Too stressful for me!! I'm still recovering!!😎🏜❤ Much love! Bless you for feeding the feral cats!!!! I'm a huge cat lover.
We drove this road in 2021, from Batumi to Akhaltsikhe. It wasn't great, but possible in one long day. The roadworks are endless. But personally, the road between Poti and Batumi I will always remember as 'death road' because that is a 2 lane road which is turned by the locals into a 3 lane road with the middle lane used in either direction for whoever has the biggest balls.
I think you are very bless to visit this amazing place host. The nature is really green, I can see cows on the road which very nice, thank you for sharing this host. You deserve high views which you got them. Well done 👏👏👏 watching from uk
I like that you are comfortable driving with the steering wheel on either side of the car I’m American and we drive in the right side. Lol lots of people can’t drive on both sides!!👍👍👍
Another great and challenging video. Kudos for Matt for driving those sketchy roads. Feel Better Guys. Stay Safe. Georgia is beautiful. Harriet and I want to visit sometime soon. Julia, do you drive ? Sending you lots of love😍😍😍 Harriet and Jim. Richmond. Va.
Thank you so much guys 🥰 really appreciate it! ❤️ it is honestly amazing, you will love it 😊 I don’t yet officially, but I planning to learn and take my test this year or next 🙌🏼🥰❤️
I have just returned from Batumi, was going to rent a car.....changed my mind after a few cab rides (all safely concluded) but seeing how they drive and what they do at intersections I changed my mind, And I drive in Paris France!
Thanks so much for the travel medical insurance tip! I've been using World Nomads since May, and while their customer service is very good, they're expensive. Be safe both of you! 🤪
Aaaah, that's too bad that the cable car was closed! There is (or was, in 2018), a lovely little 'cafe' on the other side, which was really just a man's garden. And then on the way back the cable car 'conductor' stopped the car and opened the door so I could take pictures. ... I definitely only took one or two, a far distance from the open door. 😳 Looking forward to more Georgian adventures!
Hey guys! Another great video. I was wondering if things had gotten considerably more expensive in Georgia since the start of the war? I now have a pension from the US and am in the investigative stages of hitting the road. Keep up the great work!
Hi Seth, thank you so much 🥰 We definitely noticed a massive jump in prices between this year and the last for sure. Unfortunately this isn’t only isolated in one country though, it seems the cost of living is in severe crisis everywhere we’ve visited at the moment 😔 Georgia is still both fantastic and affordable though, so definitely add it to your plans 🥰❤️
@@MattandJulia Thanks for the quick response! I was wondering if it was still feasible to find a half decent apartment in the 400-600 USD range. I was thinking it might be a good country to consider a home base in given the ease of entry and length of stay allowed. I have been to Georgia but it was a few years back and my stay was brief.
I've gone down the rabbit hole with your travel videos! Especially those in Russia and regions thereabout. I like your open mindedness. I think it would add to your videos if you gave an idea of expenses such as meals in a restaurant, prices at guest houses, air bnb, car rental, etc.
Great video guys! Last year, I visited Armenia and I know how the roads can be.. being in the middle of nowhere driving through some terrible roads - Do I keep going or turn around? But the scenery was so beautiful and the risk was well worth it!
Amazing job driving through such rough terrain. I cried a little when you guys bought the cat food for the little kitten. So sorry to hear that you caught Matt’s cold, hope you feel better soon. Safe travels.
Wow. Question: can one continue from Khulo on the "road" further east over the mountains towards Tbilisi? This exact route is on a schedule. Yikes. Linda in France.
Is it worth driving with family and kids from borjomi to batumi using this route. Are the views and towns worth it? Which part of the route is bad?? Thanks
@@MattandJulia Not for me living in Sweden, well they not walking on the streets where I live now near 300 km north of Stockholm but if you traveling a short distance nw from where I live you can see them.
Hi Dan 😊 ‘Tak’ in Russian literally translates as, ‘so’, but it is definitely a versatile word and used more than we would ‘so’ in English. I guess it also takes the place of ‘right’ (as in “right, let’s go there?”) and on some occasions is also used like ‘okay’. So yeah, when it I said it to the lady in the shop I was using it like, “right, here you go” 😊 hope this helps! 🙌🏼
Another great video! Even with the stress, you are both so positive and kind! Loved seeing you feed the kittens and have noticed in past videos you always find dogs and cats to love on! People that are kind to animals are good people. 🐈🐕 ❤️ However, the cows in the roads were as stressful to me as the road conditions! They can do serious damage to a car! Keep showing us the world! I so enjoy it! ❤️
It is bad, but not as deadly as Yungas road in Bolivia. Better to return to Turkey and enjoy the show the Ice Cream vendors do in trolling customers. Cheers.
I'm so thankful you braved those roads and obstacles to show us those stunning mountain vistas of Adjara; absolutely beautiful! You know, maybe the Georgians actually utilise that cheese-making technique? 😁😁 Your "sound&light" disco at the guesthouse was sooo funny 😂😂🤣 Obviously you were allocated the "honeymoon suite"! 😉 Thanks so much, really enjoyed the video! ❤❤
Thank you so much Johan, so glad you enjoyed them 🥰 Hahaha, to be honest, you could be right! Maybe we should patent the technique quick 😅 It almost felt a little bit like a horror film after a while to be honest 😅❤️
Salutations and a great big HI from Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Just a few points to mention. Julia, i truly hope you get better soon. Nothing worse than not being well while traveling. Also, maybe you should stay away from the long-haired hippie-type. Did not your mom ever tell you not to kiss strangers. (Quiet Matt, everyone knows you are stranger than Julia) 🤣😂 BTW Matt, that ending shot where you were enjoying that ragout, i need to ask. Are you auditioning for the next Game of Thrones series. Looks like you are trying for that Viking warrior look. 🤔 Finally, I was confused by the opening minutes of this episode. I thought you had made a wrong turn and ended up in India. My gosh, there were cows on the road everywhere! I told you guys about Itchy Boots. She started her journeys in India, and there were cows at every turn. It could have been more dangerous for her since she travels via motorbike. Again, great episode, VG filming, beautiful scenery, and the people just seem so warm and inviting. Be safe and God bless!

It must be so difficult to see the starving Street animals. That poor little dog that came up to you at your bed and breakfast was starving to death. It tore my heart out to see his face. The people don't seem to care at all about these animals. It's very disconcerting to watch.
