I’m a simple man. I see a Mercedes 300SL i click like. I would click a double like if that’s possible.
Nice car! If I am not mistaking, this car was called "widow maker" because it had top speed more then 250 km/h in 1955, and the roads were not like nowadays. So many reach people were dying in crashes and their ladies became widows... but besides... design ist superb! I have a model 1:18 on my shelf as cabrio and with gulf-wings.
Missed gear, risked getting t-boned, left blinker on after turn... DUDE!!! Pull over man, it's a wrap!
Everything designed b4 computers was more stylish and classier by far...

I just saw the new SL in full camo on the A81 Autobahn (Engen - Kreuz Hegau). It had a fixed spoiler and a soft top roof. It looks exactly like the cars in the spy videos. I was driving at about 180km/h when I noticed the car pulling up behind me. Traffic slowed us down, it instantly caught up, and I let it pass - which gave me a chance to hear the engine. It was definitely a v8! Sounded great. As soon as traffic cleared, it pulled away like a spaceship until the driver changed lanes towards an exit. The new SL is insanely fast. I can’t wait for the announcement.

What a great designer Friedrich Geiger was.
No touch screen /no soft close doors/ no interior lighting / no digital dash
And no speed indicator working lol but still magnificent

My grandfather owns a few old Sl also the Sl190 which looks almost the same as the 300 and people are always heappy to see him drive it

Absolutely stunning piece of machinery I think the 300 and Corvette C1 have to be my two favourite cars
I'm glad that the iconic SL class is given the much-needed attention by Merc
I have one except mine is a 1990. Pretty special.
No roof, no seat belts, no head rest, no roll over bar, no ABS, no power steering, no turbos, no GPS, no radio, no automatic gearbox. No digital display, no speed limiter
….
I love it.
It’s such a beauty and a contrast to the design monstrosities that Mercedes inflicts on the world today.

Yes the turn signals are on the steering wheel, the horn ring for the horn and horn ring, move left or right for turning, plus on the coupe the steering wheel can tilt for easer entry and exit.

Correction: The 300 SL Roadster replaced the Gullwing in 1957, so this cannot be a 1955. It's also not worth $2.4m.

As much as I love the SL - the new SL will be a colour-full AMG GT type car and not an elegant carbiolet anymore. Not my style tbh.
