My Father loved James Taylor, my Father had very bad Dementia and he didn't know me when he passed, but he could sing fire and rain, also you've got a friend. He didn't know who I was, but Sir he knew who you were😢.
@simonfaulkner1342 remember your Dad left knowing James Taylor and those two songs. That in itself is a big blessing! I’m 74 years now! I served during the Vietnam 🇻🇳 War. No matter what I went through during this war the most I feared is dementia and Alzheimer’s.
I know your pain… my father is 89 and has no idea who I am. I see him every week and even 4 years after he first started with dementia I still get upset. Awful disease 😢😢
I can't begin to count the times I've heard "Fire And Rain", but Dan Dugmore's pedal steel on this puts the song through a completely different sonic lens. Absolutely beautiful.
🩷 This ‘new’ updated video version of the 1986 release! Being 70ish, I grew up with J.T.’s music and this song. Hearing it again NOW for the 1st time in years brings back many great 👍 memories from the bygone ‘good ‘ole days’, when ‘life’ was so much simpler. For example, people were kinder, more respectful of others, places were safe to go to - and in general the world 🌍 was a much better one than it has been for decades, likely before a lot of you watchers were born. I’m glad to see that James T. is still performing live! 👏
I love this song . I was an eleven year old silly little girl . I may have been young and silly but I was in love and I learned heartbreak for the first time. I didn't know it but God I wish to turn back time. 😊❤
Thank you for sharing your, James Taylor, heartfelt singing talent. Listening to you is like being with a special friend. Lavonne Marie Furman, 73 years old.
Shoreline Amphitheatre , when I lived San Francisco. Warm still night long ago , your voice , James Taylor was more pure , more divine ... than on records ..... thank you for the glorious voice , the tunes , familiar lyrics ....a great music man . 🌹
Also a top 3 song for me and i often find myself playing it when the melancholy hits. Please let mike know that he hit another fan right in the “feels” today.
❤1974.., l was 24 and married a few years before. Also l was a very lonely young man that time. Her 12" vinyl LP kept me going. Now in the year 2024, l have all of the lost Joni Mitchell's 12" vinyl records again and listen to them. Dwelling in Nostalgia....❤
My very favorite male vocalist! The musicians the best also ! All just excellent , and one of of the best ! JT , and band a one of a kind - a specific sound ! I love the JT guitar sound ! When I hear your sound it takes me back to THAT time. - 70’s -90’s , or so . I LOVE YOU JT ! Paula Montana Fresno, California
This has always been a favorite, but ever since 9-11, I think of that day every time I hear this song now. the line "sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground" seems prescient.
Best ever live concert performance of James Taylor's early signature tune? I think so. You too? But then I'm like that character in Finian's Rainbow: When I'm not near the one I love, I love the one I'm near." Thanks for sharing James Taylor.
Com certeza um dos meus maiores ídolos. Suas canções acalmavam minha alma na infância e juventude. Aqui também temos outro ídolo no contra baixo; Leland Sklar. Vida longa a esses gigantes da música.
These are almost my top ten ladies that lived in Song! Missing Whitney Houston, Carole King, Katherine Hepburn, Brandi Carlile Jane Fonda!!! And probly a lot i've forgotten!!
OK Man, once you got your sound right, I still think you could slow it a bit more. Nice progression, strong vocals, nice song Man. Diamonds are always in the rough just need some polishing.

Lee Sklar on bass and Carlos Vega on drums. James has always played with top notch musicians.
And dan dugmore… on pedal steel!
I noticed Leeland was on bass right away & was pleasantly surprised. I didn't remember he played bass with James also.
I can't begin to count the times I've heard "Fire And Rain", but Dan Dugmore's pedal steel on this puts the song through a completely different sonic lens. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you James for all the songs that played throughout my life. What a blessing you are!❤
A true blessing in many ways . ❤

I'm here for it. Thank you for sharing your beautiful music with all of us.
Those steel guitar swells are sweeeet.
Not a steel guitar... It's a pedal steel.
This song is emblazoned on my soul by now .

Qué pedazo de tema, gran James Taylor y tremendo grupazo: elegante y musical.
Beautiful- one of my favorite Allman Brothers songs. Great cover. Dyane IS smiling
Liked the slightly slower pace and the gentle violin. I never saw you live. Wish I had. Thank you for all the years!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
No violin... That's a pedal steel.
One of my favorites! Can’t wait for the Concert at BethelWoods this summer!

This man is magnificent live. His songs take a whole new meaning live. I've never seen him in concert, but I want to.
God bless Suzanne Schnerr and Carlos Vega
I am there. It zooms in on me several times. Wish I still had that hair!!
Carlos Vega on drums Rest In Peace.

Nevermind. I had to go look it up. It's Dan Dugmore in case anyone wants to know. 🤔

The slower tempo is not appealing.
