So true. You are an inspiration Deputy Frank Sloup. Every time I start to drive a little over the speed limit I remember you and slow down. Seen enough of your program to know that I don't want to get pulled over and ESPECIALLY not going more than 20 miles over the posted speed limit. Your influence is far reaching. I wish it would be the case where I live, here in Latvia (EU) it's very common to use mobile speed cameras in places where it's not at all obvious that the max speed has changed, then you're fined automatically just because the state enterprise decided to save some money on speed limit signs. Makes you frustrated and disgusted at the same time by this sort of politics as you just know it's all done because the state doesn't really care about road safety or worse it's just about emptying people's pockets. In the latter '80's I was a participant in the formative stages of the "sovereign citizen" movement in Oregon (please forgive me 😟, I moved on in '90), back when not only did LEOs not know exactly how to deal with us, but neither did the courts. Now, with some 38 years of water under the bridge, I'm respectfully amazed at how professional and courteous LEOs still are in their interactions with these mostly well meaning, but ignorant fools. Thank you, Frank, for staying positive, informative AND entertaining. 😃
I love the reevaluation of your ideas. So important to remember we aren’t always right and to revise ourselves accordingly. If only many other folks could learn from your example.

You might not know this, but those traits listed above are THE STEREOTYPICAL traits of sovcit encounters, and have been for at least four decades. 🙄🤨 Sovcits are like Trekkies, they SO MUCH want another reality to be true that they cosplay the role of a sovereign lawyer on the side of the road whenever they get pulled over, whipping out their "silver bullet" arguments that they think will magically, like kryptonite, render the LEO powerless yet they always get the same results: Not one jurisdiction in the U.S. has responded to the sovcit movement with a "Mea culpa, you're so right and we're so wrong, please "travel" freely in our jurisdiction from now on without accountability... please forgive us." Back in the '80's when I was in this cult, you didn't claim to be a sovereign citizen with state plates on your vehicle... as having the state plates kinda negated the "sovereign" concept. It just goes to show the (at least one of several) mental disconnect present in these so-called sovereign citizens. We either had no plates at all or had plates issued by "The Embassy of Heaven" out of Sublimity, OR.

Can't send the guy to jail for being an idiot or running his mouth like a nine year old. Deputy Sloup doesn't want that and you don't either. That would actually be a civil rights violation.
You did a GREAT job here. The one TINY criticism that I would have is when the driver asked if he could go into his glovebox to get his registration. I was always taught that during a traffic stop (or any other dealings with the police) not to make any sudden movements. I was taught to always tell the officer what you're going to do before reaching for something. I certainly wouldn't have been acting like a jerk like this guy was, but I also would have asked permission before reaching into my glovebox.
I agree. It's also the only criticism I have. The guy was being a jerk, and I think a little bit of human nature kicked in for Frank to be a jerk back, but he quickly returned to professionalism. Great job, Frank! Well done!
You're Awesome! Please keep doing the Amazing job you are doing!! Sad you have to deal with ignorance in so many instances. I'm glad you have the ability to laugh and smile your way through the chaos. Thank you for you service!
Here in Illinois in order to get a drivers license we are forced to sign our name and by signing we agree to provide the license to the police when asked if we are operating a motor vehicle even if no crime has been committed and no questions asked period... IT IS THE LAW! If you are operating a motor vehicle the police do not ever need to tell you why you were pulled over before you give them your drivers license. And I'm fairly certain it is the same for every state. The place where most people make a really bad mistake is not standing behind their 5th amandment right to NEVER answer any questions or openly talk to the police. Just provide all the documents that are required by law and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. By doing so you could possible drive away with nothing but a warning. That cop doesn't need your lip service!! If ya have to go to court, fight the battle in court, your never going to win a battle on the side of the road, you'll only get yourself in deep dodo!!😁
JSYN: California law now requires the officer to tell you the reason for the stop prior to any questioning. However, "Let me me see your license, registration and proof of isurance" is obviously NOT a question.
I'm from Canada, Fridays with Frank are the best. I always get a kick out of watching American citizens going on about their civil rights. Wonder if they know it'd be 100% easier on them and less of a headache if they just cooperate... 🤔
Fellow Canadian here, we don't have half the rights our neighbors do. The RCMP can pull you over for no reason at all and detain you for (last I heard) 48 hours for no reason at all. They then kick you out, no explanation given and no recourse under law allowed. Sad, eh?
Thanks for the update. You know, I don't claim to be the sharpest pencil in the box, but I cannot understand why EVERYONE doesn't have a small pouch in their glove box containing their registration and proof of insurance. Then, make sure to replace the expired info with current info. This is _especially_ important for those that seem to be destined for a run in with the police.
In the province I live in, if you don't have the paperwork of insurance and registration, $500 fine. We get our insurance papers every year, they give us a plastic sleeve to put it all in, into our glove boxes, easy

People have cooperated and charmed their way out of a ticket…but NOBODY has ever ARGUED their way out of a ticket. That clown didn’t get the memo…😮😂
So true. I've avoided at least 3 that I remember, maybe 4 or more total tickets by being polite and honest (speeding on I-10 late at night, ATC on public road in the mountains, old backup work truck without current tags, and I'm sure one or two others, all CHP). I would have had all those issued had I acted like this fool. Always city PD when I received a ticket, and those three were borderline. All 40-plus years ago when I was much, much younger, and dumber.

But he DID get away with it.....if you watched till the end, there was a clerical error, and he got off with nothing.
Smiled through my first stop, cooperated, charmed, got a written warning.
Second stop same thing. I was confused on the speed limit, seemed like I was arguing, quickly backed down and apologized if I sounded frustrated. And was not questioning the cop’s knowledge. I was let go with a written warning. Haven’t been pulled over since.
Well the ticket was dismissed. 😂😂😂
I learned so much from this video. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything you did or asked for. I had my husband download our car insurance on his phone since watching this video. Officer Frank has so much patience!

You are an Outstanding Young Man and doing a fantastic job dealing with Nancy's.
Our insurance company just sends us printed cards every year. One copy goes in the correct vehicle, the extra goes in the file.
In my city/province? The printed copy is not required, they just run your plate and get all the information from that. We even have 24 hours to provide a drivers license if we give our name & address. They look that up too and see our picture to verify it is us, but we DO have to bring it in tomorrow anyhow!
Most if not all insurance companies do unless you opt into paperless billing and electronic paperwork. Your choice.
Same, except one goes in the vehicle with the current registration the other goes behind my drivers license in my wallet. Just in case I am not driving the vehicle, the person who is, has both the registration and insurance in the glove box.

Why not set people up for success?

Nothing in this driver's interaction in any way indicated sovcit propensities.
@@UpnorthHere By "nothing" do you mean: 1) Immediately asking why he was pulled over 2) Immediately withholding his drivers license and retorting "That's not how it works" when Frank told him he'd answer his question AFTER he provided his driver's license 3) While still refusing to tender his license, demanding Franks name & badge number 4) Demanding to speak with Franks supervisor 5) Erroneously bringing up that AZ is not a stop & ID state & ignoring that the stop was predicated on his doing a criminal amount of speed, all while 6) Being a resistant prick when the situation didn't call for anything like that response? You might not know this, but those traits listed above are THE STEREOTYPICAL traits of sovcit encounters, and have been for at least four decades. 🙄🤨
Sovcits are like Trekkies, they SO MUCH want another reality to be true that they cosplay the role of a sovereign lawyer on the side of the road whenever they get pulled over, whipping out their "silver bullet" arguments that they think will magically, like kryptonite, render the LEO powerless yet they always get the same results: Not one jurisdiction in the U.S. has responded to the sovcit movement with a "Mea culpa, you're so right and we're so wrong, please "travel" freely in our jurisdiction from now on without accountability... please forgive us."
Back in the '80's when I was in this cult, you didn't claim to be a sovereign citizen with state plates on your vehicle... as having the state plates kinda negated the "sovereign" concept. It just goes to show the (at least one of several) mental disconnect present in these so-called sovereign citizens. We either had no plates at all or had plates issued by "The Embassy of Heaven" out of Sublimity, OR.

Well done!

Sad, eh?

You know, I don't claim to be the sharpest pencil in the box, but I cannot understand why EVERYONE doesn't have a small pouch in their glove box containing their registration and proof of insurance.
