The last time I was pulled over (AZ State Trooper), this is what I did. I exited the freeway, made a right turn onto the road, and pulled over to the right when I saw a large opening on the shoulder. I pulled over far enough so that the Trooper was able to park his vehicle on the shoulder and exit without him having to step into the roadway. The cop thanked me for pulling over far enough to ensure my safety and his. We had a conversation while he did his investigation and ran my paperwork. The Trooper used his discretion and issued me a written warning. All because I did everything right. Except for the reason I was pulled over for in the first place. 😂
You have Zero idea how much I’ve learned from these videos. I recently got my first traffic ticket in 40+ years. I moved to AZ in 2010. I chose to take a class in Luei of getting a ticket. I was amazed how much I did Not know about AZ law! I couldn’t believe, while taking this course how many violations I was guilty of. That course was definitely an eye opener. Why does AZ Not require transplants take a course so we understand AZ law? I cannot believe how many laws I broke! I got my license in 1974 in PA. Moved to. TX, just transferred my Dr License, moved to AZ, same thing! Took the course, learned 10 and 2 on the steering wheel was no longer a ‘thing’! Didn’t realize what the appropriate amount of stopping time was on a yellow light. AZ definitely Needs to have a mandatory Dr education class to be a Requirement for new residents! I’ve been here 14 years and didn’t know the laws until I took the course in early May! Make this Mandatory!!!
Around here, expecting them to yield is a hard ask. We have the same laws but people just don't. I have been honked at, almost hit, and given the number one finger several times for actually slowing and moving.
There's actually a good reason for this question. Officer are looking for your reaction. I was once asked "any guns knives or Hand-Granaids?" I said "WHAT?" & that is basically the correct response. They are trying to gage who they are dealing with. 💙 Deputy Slope!!! Best 👮♂️ Ever!!!!
I will say I could see myself taking my seatbelt off if not paying attention. It's muscle memory when you put your car in park and being flustered might make you resort to that.
About 4:44: The easiest way to NOT speed is to leave 15 minutes* earlier. (More than 15 minutes if you're really sucking the mileage from the fuel tank.)
The "smoked tail lights," term was a revelation as I've noticed these on a few cars here in Australia and my first thought was "That's stupid, you're begging for a rear-end smash."
I was at a stop light recently, late in the day but not quite dark, and the guy in front of me had them so tinted that I could barely tell that they were on. You couldn't see his parking lights at all. (US)
Frank, I'd be surprised if the lady who you stopped for speeding a second time is capable of learning. You should have asked the lady if her job was as a formula one racing driver!!! What annoys the hell out of me with these people who speed is that when ( not if) they have a crash these people are usually the ones who walk away after killing someone else driving the normal speed 🤯🤯
If you start after someone is in a left turn lane (if that's how the jeep one actually started), you can't expect them to immediately make a dangerous maneuver to the right side of the road. In this case, they still didn't pull over as soon as safely possible even after proceeding properly through the intersection, so it doesn't really matter.
Frank Sloup J in 2021 was employed at Pinal County Sheriff's Office and had an annual salary of $126,817 according to public records. I’ll speak for most of the people in the United States too. And say “you guys scare us and we get paranoid. Lots never been pulled over before.” So understand that. We don’t do it every day like you do… I been driving for 25 years and don’t think about that every day 😂 cause we don’t plane on this happening. I know what to do. But as a younger driver I didn’t as much. One time a cop yelled at me for pulling off the road into a parking lot. And my idea was it was safer for him. And he said it wasn’t 😂
@higherstandard710 - if you are operating a motor vehicle, you SHOULD be in possession of a valid driver's license. To obtain that license, you SHOULD have taken, and passed, both a written exam and a practical (hands on) driving test. The proper actions to take when approached by emergency vehicles is covered on the written exam and sometimes in the practical. Believe it or not, your state also issues a driving manual with tons of useful information. They are generally easy to read and often have sample tests for you to test yourself - of course I can only speak for the 8 states that I have lived in, but that is a fair sample. Driving is not a 'trial and error' or 'try it until you figure it out' sport. You have the responsibly to educate yourself before taking controls of a potentially deadly machine.
I always take my seatbelt off. However, I have worn my seat belt religiously since I was in an accident as a passenger when I was 16 years old (1976). This was way before seatbelt laws were imposed.
Need more tickets to ppl using the phones while driving. Tired of all the accidents and insurance going up due to ppl using their phones causing accidents
I always have to unclip my belt to reach my registration and insurance in the glove box because I have an excursion and short little trex arms 😂. I'll wait next time 😂
1:56 My buddy got pulled over in Herndon VA and he pulled to to where it was safe and the trooper literally yelled at him that he has to stop on the roadway exactly where they turned on the lights.
Deputy Frank, the smoked tail lights... it does make it harder to see. Since it makes collisions more likely, what about a fully polished up Tesla Cybertruck? It's basically a giant rolling mirror on all sizes, blinding people under direct sunlight. Seems very hazardous. I've seen this oddball 'look at me' mobile here in Texas. I'd hope that the law provides some relief against, effectively, rolling mirrors.
When flashing lights are behind me, I consider the challenge to be accepted. If you can PIT me, you can write the ticket, and the bonus charge for fleeing. 😂

Thank you for your service
"Ya do any of that heroin?" LMAO 😂😂😂😂😂
There's actually a good reason for this question. Officer are looking for your reaction. I was once asked "any guns knives or Hand-Granaids?" I said "WHAT?" & that is basically the correct response. They are trying to gage who they are dealing with.
💙 Deputy Slope!!! Best 👮♂️ Ever!!!!
Frank, keep it up! Thank you!
Thanks for your service to your community and the broader UA-cam community Deputy Sloup!
I think it’s a habit in our brain to unbuckle the belt when the car stops. I would probably do that too. 😂. Some people say that as an excuse though.
I take my seatbelt off AFTER shutting off my engine, and there’s never a problem.
I will say I could see myself taking my seatbelt off if not paying attention. It's muscle memory when you put your car in park and being flustered might make you resort to that.
And if there's a median and there's an emergency vehicle traveling in opposite direction YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP OR PULL OVER
About 4:44: The easiest way to NOT speed is to leave 15 minutes* earlier.
(US)
Great Episode
"Thank you citizen!" brings me joy, every time I hear it.
“I didn’t know how fast I was going”…Yeah, it’s right there on your speedometer😂
Thank you Frank. Thank you for protecting us ❤
*Thanks Frank*
Love the Suzuki law billboard in the video! 😂
When you say, "Hi friend" or "Hello citizen" it makes me smile. :)
U started a new trend. I enjoy these ride alongs
Frank Sloup J in 2021 was employed at Pinal County Sheriff's Office and had an annual salary of $126,817 according to public records. This salary was 55 percent higher than the average and 60 percent higher than the median salary in Pinal County Sheriff's Office. The afore information could not be verified. Procuring public records is difficult and expensive in Pinal Cty sheriff office.
I definitely can't reach my glove box with my seat belt on
That Deputy Sloup, he hangs out in a very fast part of town... Hang on for Sloup, he wants that belt clicked down
I’ll speak for most of the people in the United States too.
It is no wonder Fridays with Frank is so popular. Frank is awesome .
I always take my seatbelt off. However, I have worn my seat belt religiously since I was in an accident as a passenger when I was 16 years old (1976). This was way before seatbelt laws were imposed.
Funny how our responses and facial expressions can match Frank's in real time haha
Your car identifies as a bike. Love it
Ah yes, the famous "Oh, I just took it off when I stopped" seat belt excuse. LOL
They should make a diecast 1/64 model of Deputy Sloup's white Charger with black racing stripes. That would be collectible ✅
Gotta make sure it has the student driver bumper sticker. 😂
I'd buy one. Espeically if it had some battery powered red and blue lights
I absolutely died when I first heard the "I think your car identifies as a bicycle" joke.
"Frank the Merciful" a whole episode of you just giving people warnings
God bless you sir... The good lord made sure I didn't become a police officer years ago.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
When flashing lights are behind me, I consider the challenge to be accepted. If you can PIT me, you can write the ticket, and the bonus charge for fleeing. 😂
I’m guessing you’re trying to be funny.
“Thank you citizen!” Frank you’re like a B level superhero with that. 😂
Wednesday warnings with frank.
