The Special World Of Wadcutters - Part 1 The Hollow Base Wadcutter (culled for YouTube)

- All the reloading sequences have been culled for UA-cam. To see the entire video, please go to the RUMBLE platform - see FortuneCookie45LC - - In the full spectrum of handgun bullets, the hollow based 38 caliber wadcutter is unique. For mild pressure loadings only, target and small game hunting are the only uses. Loaded as intended, the HBWCs are superb in their assigned role. And as long as competition and range shooting are done, these bullets and loads will have their day...There are particular considerations involved with these bullets and the loading of them....

Very accurate bullet,the Remington ,in
38 Special handguns!!😊😊❤❤
Heading over to "R" to watch it in Freedom Scope!
My go-to thank you fortune cookie.
The 148 gr HBWC is my absolute favorite road to shoot. Buttery smooth in a revolver, it’s even sweeter in a dedicated semi like a Midrange Colt or a Smith & Wesson 52-2. I must admit a terrible weakness for the 52, as I have several… a few I shoot 2-3x’s a week, to a couple, new in the box. What a shame it was discontinued after the machinery was deemed too expensive to repair in 1993.
Looking forward to the range results. I am a lead bullet fan and very much interested in whether and what you might lose with plating.
USReloading is looking for a writer,I think you would do a great job Sir, have a great day, Richard
I use both Berry’s and swaged lead HBWC’s in both revolvers and a 52-2. Accuracy is amazing in both, but I have to use a larger charge to get the same velocity with the Berry’s plated HBWC. I typically use 3.0 grs of N320 with lead HBWC’s with perfect function in my 52-2, but need 3.4-3.5 grs of N320 to get the same reliable function in my 52-2. Both are soft shooting and accurate.
Very nice
I've acquired some HBWC bullets for reloading as slugs for my new Lever Action .410. I'm going to load some brass Magtec .410 hulls as well as some plastic hulls using the HOBO slug technique of pouring out the shot and replacing it with a lighter solid projectile . I've identified some wad / slug combinations that fit well through my choke tubes , so I'm only lacking the correct primers to move on with this project . I plan to roll crimp the plastic hulls and will also be rounding the mouth of the brass hulls just slightly to aid in cycling through the tubular magazine and the lever action of my GFORCE ARMS LVR410 . I REALLY wish that someone made a rifled choke tube that would work in my Beretta / Benelli Mobilechoke barrel as Buffalo's Outdoors on UA-cam has gotten some outstanding accuracy firing slugs through a rifled choke tube .
Nice looking rounds!
There are tons of videos out there demonstrating reloading uploaded recently.
Noticed a split case on the close-up of the prepped brass!! 3rd row.
Good eye.
The UA-cam anti-handloading stuff is so lame.
It's part of the culture war, they don't want people to get into guns as a hobby
Seems over exaggerated to try and get you to his other platform. No other reloading channel I watch has this issue.
Dude!!! WATCH OUT!!! One of those cases has a split in the mouth. Your gun might spit in your eyes.......
Thank you fc.
Hard to beat Matts bullets for great lead bullets .
Bloke u r zo rite yank nailed it 😮
Then there's the 150 grain .358 caliber round nose hollow base. Old West Bullet moulds makes these, as well as moulds for them. I believe they make a 135 grain version too.
I saw one of your case mouths was split in the reloading block.
I too shot PPC once upon a time. I remember one match when I had extra holes on my target way out on one edge. Turns out, the shooter to my left had used too large a charge (or possible the wrong powder) under his HBWC and the skirts were blowing off some of them and veering four feet over onto my target! The RO thought it was me, until I showed him that I cast my own solid-base button-nose wadcutters, and upon scoring the other shooter's target, several extra holes were found way over on the right edge of his. Really have to put a powderpuff load of the right powder under the old swaged HBWCs or bad things happen.
Do you shoot these in a dedicated 38 Special? I tried 38 Special and 357 Magnum cases with them in a 357 Magnum Blackhawk. The 357 Mag cases shot way better. Just wondered if that was normal or just my setup.
A copper clad like them that a friend uses is not cast concentric on the front. So he loads them backwards.
I reload semi wadcutter 158 grain 38special, Im super interested in your info on these..
Do you think that Speer was a vendor to Remington? Sure look similar don't they?
Hello Mr. Cookie, I have a problem... a dilemma you may be able to advise me. I have all Lee equipment I can load 38/357 and 45acp no problem, however loading 9mm Para has not been successful, I have purchased all the equipment Lee has to load this cartridge, I have failed... would you recommend a different set of dies? or other equipment? I do respect your knowledge and astute patience when loading and sharing your vast experience in this area, thank you, a dedicated follower in Tamp,Fl.
What is the issue you have come up against? I have no problem with lee 9 mm dies in a turret press....
Could you load it backward to make an HP?
Thanks for posting to a platform that respects free speech (Rumble)
where is part 2 ?
Я так же снаряжаю,только в 410 калибр!!!
Just got notification of this video ten days later !!!
Please rename the video from Culled to “ Alec Baldwined “ so you can get away with murder.
I think of Marilyn Monroe and her skirt getting blown up.
what is youtube so afraid of?
UA-cam is so cucked.
UA-cam and it’s “RULES” are getting so lame!!! We need a new type of UA-cam that’s not regulated by the Govt and it’s clowns.
UA-cam is doing its best to loose my interest it's sad that this platform is dying. Anti gun foolishness at its finest.
Funny how a liberal company like youtube can be so conservative??????????
They are only "liberal" for the woke progressive crowd.
I predict that the Remington wadcutters will obturate better due to the thinner skirt and have lower std deviation, but the Berry's will shoot tighter groups given its more robust.
FC, would you think the Berry's wadcutters could be loaded hotter in .357 Mag and not blow the skirt off given it's much thicker?
