I watch this thinking that a few years from now my kids will be downloading the 8K version and loving it for the next 35 years, just like I did.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. There really wouldn't be much of a visual benefit out of doing an 8K version, even if it's from a 35mm source. Even film has its limits. Then again, this looks like a pretty good transfer; maybe 8K would improve on it enough to make it worth it.
Also, they would be like

Think about Marty's life from his perspective in this scene. He's only just got back from 1955, just found his new truck, family being richer etc and he's immediately whisked to 2015. It's a separate movie for us and 4 years for the actors but for Marty it's been a busy few hours. When was the last time he slept?
He woke up before discovering his new family, just before this scene. When he went to sleep after getting back he still hadn't noticed anything.
This is ironic as Michael J Fox literally got no sleep filming between Family ties and Back to the Future.

I just love how this ominous line to set up the main conflict of this movie.

Omg. I’m getting so emotional watching this gem back and back again. I missed my childhood so much
The accident in which Marty injured his hand and trashed his music career happens both in the timeline where Marty is raised by loser parents, and in the timeline where Marty is raised by cool parents. It´s some sort of fixed point in time that only loosens when Marty has gained some perspective and lessons.
We don't know if it happens in the original timeline, since Marty never displayed the same issue with being called chicken in the original movie. Could be a result of being raised by more confident and assertive parents.
Good question. Doc knew about the accident but didn't tell Marty about it which didn't make sense at first. If Doc had told Marty, then the 2015 they travel into would probably be different. But did Doc somehow knew that telling Marty about the accident wouldn't make any difference because he knew Marty's personality and that he needed something bigger to chance his perspective?
How can you tell that accident happens in the original timeline too? First of all, in the original timeline Marty doesn't have the black Toyota truck, instead he drives his father's old Chevy until Biff wrecks it.
@Satai80 I wondered why 2015 Marty didn't try & time travel to change his accident? I guess he didn't want to risk losing his kids or more?
@@paulsmith9192The whole reason why he got into the accident in the first place was because someone called him chicken. I wondered this too at first. I mean, why does Doc seemingly fixes Marty’s whole family (his father, his son) but never tried to change him?
Doc didn’t make any changes to him because he wanted Marty to learn the lesson himself, which we see him improve in the third part. We even heard him almost admit to Marty that his agitation for the word “chicken” is the cause of his miserable life.
“That’s exactly what causes you to get into that accident in the future” Doc - BTTF 3
I’m sure that it was done on purpose, because oherwise, if Doc just fixes everything up for him, he would still probably be triggered with “chicken”, thus something would still happen badly in the future, even if the automobile accident was prevented.

6:25 it was so smart to have a tiny moment showing and telling us why doc won’t be wrinkly and older this time around. Christopher Lloyd wasn’t playing his “younger” 1955 self this time so it’s a perfect solution to keep him from having to wear the makeup for 2 more movies.

@@TheProfessor230 he’s not tho, it’s not cannon to the movies. I think he’s in his 60s in 85 so 30s in the 50s and 90s in 2015
Here's a thought: Christopher Lloyd was born in 1938, so in 1985 he was 47. A 47 year old "1955 Doc Brown" would have been born in 1908. Doc Brown in 1985 would have been 77 years old.

There's a fan theory I've heard about with Jennifer and why she looks different (but sorta kinda a bit similar). Basically that Marty unknowingly did something in 1955 where the two people who *would* have been her parents didn't get married and instead married other people in the alternate 1985. So basically Jennifer still is born, but half her DNA is different now.
I've read that as well, but it doesn't explain how Marty accepted her being different from the get go, since he reacted with nothing but astonishment just few minutes before the changes his famliy went through.
