What's funny to me is that you have every stat at 99 except one stat you stopped at 98, which is literally the only stat that still scales at that high of a level... bruh... how you gonna do that?
12:53 It takes about 5-6 minutes, but if you keep chasing Gwyndolin the hall eventually ends and he stops teleporting, which should allow you to get a hit in. Great video!
Thanks for 500 views everyone! I understand the sound isn’t great in some spots (especially with boss soundtracks), so I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for that in the future. Going to start working towards Dark Souls II - may do a livestream sometime this weekend testing some things out, as there doesn’t seem to be quite as detailed information for damage buff stacking as some other FS games!
Glad to see the views have multiplied almost 100 fold, very entertaining video, I like this twist on the one shot challenge, it was interesting to see how everything differs on NG+6
I was watching some other videos and I think I erred on some bosses, not even trying magic on a few fights. I think it may be possible to do the Moonlight Butterfly and Gaping Dragon with magic, so I may revisit that at some point. But for now, I am focused on dark souls 2
Thanks! I’m working on getting some cooler graphics done for dark souls 2 and beyond instead of that interstitial with all the bosses just hanging out in the void
pretty sure the damage discrepancy on pinwheel is because on the first attempt i dont think red tearstone ring was active. You can see the pinkish symbol for it pop up like right as you hit so it might not have counted
@@trevthedev6134 this was one of my first videos on my channel... i dont upload anything anymore.. so enjoy the 10fps :D oh and im not sure if its possible in newer version, but this was the original prepare to die edition.
The Bed of Chaos cheese using firebombs becomes pretty easy, when using the first person perspective of a bow to aim it. There are tutorials on UA-cam about where to stand and where to aim. It's the only boss from the series I cheese every time by now, because it's just so annoying.
Might’ve been able to. I should really record that one shot but I don’t feel like playing through ng+7 haha. You’ll just have to take my word for it that a one shot on the first guy is possible.
@@DrClock-il8ijhonestly Capra Demon wasn’t that bad. It was the run up at the very end with the dogs and assassins right outside the fog wall. Eventually I started trying to sprint pass but I would get poise broken by a dog or backstabbed half the time.
Heres a tip, buddy, first of all this is a great video but in your editing program man be sure to turn the game volume down so we can hear you next time I had trouble hearing your voice over the boss music/sounds :)
For sure. I could’ve sworn it sounded fine in the editor but I didn’t watch the whole thing with the voiceover. I swear I forgot how loud some of the noises can get in dark souls lol
Ok, only use physical damage on bosses you can plunge/parry, for everything else make sure you have dusk crown on and manus staff and use pursuers and bellowing dragon crest ring if you really wanna maximise your magic damage, all this slb on axes bs isn't going to work that well.
11:00 what if you used a weapon with a multi-hit attack? Couldn’t you potentially hit both of its legs, causing it to fall off? Also, did you try jumping attacks with the demon greataxe? Or does the R2 deal more damage? And one last (possibly) dumb question; why no dark bead? I assume you said you weren’t using it in the video, but I seem to have missed that part.
Not actually sure about the multi-hit. I know a lot of the R2 or L2 (for a couple of weapons) are lighter weapons, so my guess is that you wouldn't be able to do enough poise damage. Maybe I'll load it up and check it out sometime. That's a good question about the jumping attack, although I'm pretty sure it's less damage than the Dragon King's Greataxe. Another thing to test whenever I'm back at it. I don't use any magic or miracle attacks, as the increased health pools in later New Game+ cycles don't really allow for one shots to the best of my knowledge, at least not on bosses you can't one shot with melee. They also can't quite be boosted as much, as the torso stone road only applies to physical damage. At +3 it's an extra 35% on top of everything else, and the shockwave from the Dragon King's Greataxe does the physical+weapon buff. For DSII I'm going to be doing some more thorough tests to make sure I don't miss out on anything.
@@totallynotkavak7128 I did just test a jumping attack versus and R2, it was the same amount of damage. Too bad! I was hoping for more to maybe get a one-shot on the Butterfly but no dice.
somethodox tried this in like the 2nd run of this kind i ever saw... he even tried the skeleton wheel which has like 6 attacks, but it wasnt enough dmg. but pyromancy should work realy good.
great video. As Souls tuber myself I struggle with my audio a lot so don't be offended but you should raise the volume of your voice. Anyway great video!
I think a crystal demons great axe has slightly higher AR than a +15. At least that’s what I recall when I was looking at some online calculators. It’s basically negligible in a regular run though so a +15 would almost certainly be better given you can repair it.
You could literally just go to NG+, use cheat engine to lvl up and get all weapons rings and necessary items for your run and finish it that way. Why to be in NG+7 when there is really no difference
Not sure what you mean? There is additional scaling up to ng+6, although I don’t think it’s linear. Iirc ng+6 results in somewhere between 20-30% more hp than ng+, which isn’t huge, but does make a difference (eg the Moonlight Butterfly attempt).
There was actually some discourse on this from what I found before I did this video. Journey 7 seems to have been misconstrued by some as ng+7 instead of ng+6, but +6 is actually where health and damage of enemies stop scaling. Fwiw I actually do this with it set to +9 not +6, so it’s the highest regardless.
@@aaggroberlin19 I think we're saying the same thing. It goes 1 NG, 2 NG+, 3 NG++, 4 NG+++,5 NG++++,6 NG+++++, and then 7 NG++++++. You can actually run all the way to the back of the hallway for Gwyndolin just takes a while
Very true, I did think about that until I got that first hit on Gwyndolin and decided not to waste 10 more minutes running haha
If you chase Gwendolyn for long enough, he will actually stop teleporting and you would be able to get him then.
7:00 have you tried the plunging attack on sif? maybe that would be more with the crystal weapon...
I wasn’t aware that you could on Sif, do you know how to do it? I don’t think it would result in a one shot but interesting to try.

Why’d they make the dragon form so caked tho?
1:00 how did bro turn into a werewolf?

I'm pretty sure you'd get more damage with a Forward-R2 on the Demon's Greataxe, compared to its regular R2.
Cool video, nice job.
I actually did try this at the suggestion of another comment; turns out a jump attack and R2 do the same damage in DS1.
Really high quality video
