    This is probably the most important speech that everyone on America should see. But no one will ever listen because he is Marilyn Manson.

    He's 100% accurate with the school situation. its all bs and jocks get away with everything. everyday i'd stand up for the nerdy kids getting picked on by sporty-preppy douchebags in gymclass and the gym teacher was a coach and he didnt want his football players to miss out on practice so he just said" dont do it again" and this was every-fucking-day.

    I could sit and listen to him talk all day long. I read his book and I just want to know more. I want to know what he thinks about, well, everything. He just seems to have everything all worked out. Screw the people who can't look past his image and actually listen to what he has to say.

    Great speach and so true. This is actually one of the things I HATE about mankind... their sheep-like mentality, their need to fit in and be cool. Its this type of need for acceptance that leads to a lot of bullying and why others join in at laughing at someone. Its because they wanna fit in and be cool. Humans are also competitive by nature, probably the biggest cause of wars. Football etc. is very symbolic of that nature and how people treat it is very primitive. It needs to change.

    Exactly. When I was in middle school, junior high, and high school I was the loner and the outcast. Not really emo or anything, but I was a loner. Know who picked on me and bullied me the most? The popular kids who were the jocks, got all the votes when it came to best looking, best smile, prom king, and etc. They made fun of my acne, my weight, called me a homosexual, and the list goes on.
    So as you said, the jocks aka the popular kids were and are the problem in schools.

    Oh, my god, my heart skipped a beat when he mentioned Brian Deneke. I don't agree with all his beliefs ("kids need an antichrist!") but there's no denying that this man is fucking brilliant and knows what's going on. In the Deneke vein, I wonder what Manson would have to say about Sophie Lancaster?

  • @leshem041

    What did he mean on 5:40, "we are the tv, were a copy starring at a copy"?

    • @artofadval
      @artofadval 9 років тому +2

      leshem041 I had to think about it a little bit too, because I didn't get it right off the bat.
      I think he meant we're an amalgam, or combination, of various things we absorb. And since we're looking at each other in television sets (or any medium that allows us to absorb information) and feeding off of each other, it's hard to tell what is true and what isn't. Is anything that you say really yours, or what you saw on TV and hence accept to be true? Then you go off and spread this now adulterated way of looking at the world to others and it keeps get mutated on every iteration--and the cycle continues; hence "the degeneration" that Manson was talking about.
      Where does the real you reside in that carnival of self-perpetuating mirrors?
      I think that's what he meant. I could be wrong...

      +leshem041 something deep... lol

    • @tubadurantdoda
      @tubadurantdoda 8 років тому +4

      He meant that we are just pseudo-individuals who are copies of the creation of the media. Media created certain categories and spread them through TV. Everyone watching TV became a copy, became a part of this trap. Everyone became fake and similar. It's like capitalism makes you think that you have a right to choose over the things like the clothes you wear, but indeed you are not free to choose at all. How? There are only limited choices you could make over clothes. The choices they chose. The clothes you choose are the ones they created again. Again you are the part of the system and all the media and TV shit is linked to that. It's really something deep what he means here. He means we became nothing more than pseudo-individuals who became copy like creatures so it doesn't matter if you are on TV or watching TV you are a part of that copies.

  • @NAPlayer3

    " a copy of a copy of a copy " - Manson was ahead of trent reznor !

  • @BrokenGrin
    @BrokenGrin 12 років тому

    It seems like he summed up everything in a few minutes... He talks about America, but what he says is true as well of many countries, which is even more striking when he talks about kids and the "different" ones (who hasn't seen those sorts of things ?)... What strikes me is that I already agreed with his point of view before watching this and yet this is a true realization. Now I guess I'll be thinking about it all.

    Gays, Mexicans, Musicians. We are all just cast out for being different. But when it comes to simple-minded things like god and football, society makes it so that if your not with them your against them. Violence is on us musicians, not the media, not sports, nothing. It's terrible what society does to people, and I hope one day to make a statement as a musician as big as Marilyn Manson because he is a true icon. I too wish to be different, and if it goes against society the so be it.

The things people hate are the things they create.
